Bistro East

We had a great evening pizza here. Our hosts recommended this spot, and we're glad they did. Staff were efficient and friendly and the evening was unhurried and quiet. We'd go here again.

Had a super busy day so ordered 2 pizza and 1 garlic fingers for take out. Staff was super friendly and we were starving. Got home and opened the boxes. One of the pizzas wasn't cut and thr other was cut really uneven. The garlic fingers were so thin and over baked we couldn't chew them. Literally so tough. Was very disappointed. Especially for $78 worth of food expected it to be better.

From the moment I stepped in the door, I knew this would be a place I’m coming back too during my stay in the area. In all honesty I’ve never had such amazing customer service, food and a comfortable atmosphere all at once.

Bistro East is the complete package and a must visited destination.

Food: The Philly open faced sandwich and Chilli were a 10/10. With perfect presentation and proportions (even being a big guy) I was not left wanting or needing more. The Chilli was hearty, good and had everything I was looking for. (with a great price as well!)

Customer Service: I’m not used to tentative, kind service from the industry anymore, but this was another 10/10. Being able to strike up a good conversation, feeling respected and relatable towards your sever just made the experience so much better.

Just come here, there’s no disappointment.

Excellent spot with wonderful window views onto the street. Great for people watching. Pizzas are amazing

My fiancé and I ate here on our first stop of our stay in Annapolis Royal
After an early morning flight and long day of travel to get to Annapolis, we were starving, and should have found anything amazing at this point.
We glanced at the menu online and it had showed lobster rolls. That was what we wanted. When we inquired we were told it was no longer available as new owners had taken over and it was now not available.
We both settled on the steak.

When our food came out it was pretty underwhelming in appearance and even more so on the taste.
The steak tasted like it was actually boiled.
The amount of vegetables on our plate was a tiny amount.
The carrots were seasoned well and the tastiest part of our meal.

We each had a drink and the bill was well over $100. Which was not worth the amount or quality of food served.

Needless to say we did not return for any other meal at this establishment while in Annapolis Royal.

I wish the owners and staff good luck, and hope the food quality increases so the restaurant can becomes a success.

Terrible service by an unprofessional, rude middle-aged woman with dark hair. The pizza was fine, but there is little atmosphere and the server made us feel awkward and uncomfortable in the room. Would not go back.

We ordered pesto pasta and blackened haddock. The "blackened" haddock came out looking white and steamed with some seasoning crumbs on top. The potatoes that came on the side of it were half cooked, so were the carrots. The pasta was undercooked and doughy. It cost us 90 dollars after 2 beverages and tips but overall it was one of the worst meals we have had that we laughed out loud at how bad it was. We thought about sending the food back but didn't want to push the servers around since it's not their fault that the quality of food was that poor. I came from food industry and know how difficult it is to work in it, but whoever worked on the line tonight was either newly hired or poorly trained. After I read the reviews, it seemed that we didn't overreact to the experience we had tonight and there were deeper causes to why the experience was poor. Shame though, nice spot in town and nice service staff. Hopefully management can shape up and put some effort into doing things better.

This was a reasonable meal in this small town. It was pretty quiet when we dined very early evening, but the staff were friendly and they had a good IPA available as well as a non-alcoholic beer.

My wife had the blackened haddock which she said tasted good (we didn't know what to expect from the description but it wasn't blackened in colour in any way). However, her accompanying fries were only lukewarm (she wanted the fish and wasn't bothered about the fries).

I had a vegetarian pizza, which was nice.

A reasonable meal for what seems like a reasonable price around here.

When you enter first you feel it’s smell which kill your nose, we are order scallops which was no fully cooked, fish was over spiced and was very hard to eat. Potato without any spices. Pasta no good also. Im not advise this place for eat.

Food wasn't anything I'd want to go back for at their prices. I wasn't impressed how staff were getting treated. Won't be back.

Dont waste your time or money here, as the 2 other employees have said.nothing they said is a lie, go support an other business in town.

Very rude waitress and very poor service.food was cold and very bad. A very loud slamming back door topped off this very unpleasant experience!

Reasonable meal, good food, but not anything to shout about. Our waiter was new (his first shift) and he did an absolutely amazing job. Unfortunately the waitress overseeing him was downright rude, after the new lad made a minor mistake offering a dessert they didn't have. She made excuses, told us it was because they were closing, blamed the new lad on his first night. Was very obtuse, and leaning forwards into us, at times raising her voice. I told her that I understood, but there were better ways of explaining this to us. She called me rude. I hope the management read this review. You have a lovely establishment and the food is reasonable. You're being let down by this individual on your staff. I told her about a book I give all my staff to help with customers and confrontation. I love self improvement and she could have handled that situation a much better way, but she had nothing but negativity to say, and I felt sorry for her when I left, and also for the staff who have to work with her. Not a motivational force, more an old nag.

Wouldn’t eat here, used to be so much better before new management took over… the new management has no care in the world for the quality of food being offered to customers.like the other reviews said the staff are overworked and very poorly treated/taken advantage of. It would be wonderful to see someone else run the business who has a passion for hospitality and customer service. However with the current management I wouldn’t bother even going in for a coffee.

Give anywhere else In town your money but this place. As they simply don’t deserve to turn a profit. The money isn’t going to the workers anyway it’s all going to the owner who simply doesn’t respect her customers, employees or the laws and regulations of running a business.

I'd love to say more. It wasn't bad. It didn't stand out in any way either. We appreciate to food and service received.
Online menus options are not what are available in restaurant, new owners was the reason we overheard. The menu's didn't look newly printed though

The food took an incredibly long time and then we had to send back the soups as they were inedible.
Under new ownership, but right now can’t really guarantee you can get served in any reasonable time frame, unless you are just ordering pizza.
Also people who came in 15 mins after us got served first while two different couples walked out while we were waiting for our food.
There are better options available close by, strongly recommend you avoid this restaurant.

Before supporting this business, please read.
Staff is over worked, under paid. We are given 0 breaks, working up to 13 hours a day, alone. Never recieved paystubs despite asking for them, our pays are never correct. Resulting in upwards of a few hundred some are losing. Tips go missing. Etc, etc.
The service is slow because so many have quit, including me. They have ripped off everybody who works there & will continue to be short staffed.

Me and my family waited for about an hour and never got our food, we asked our servant several times when our food was coming and she told it was coming soon. The third time we asked her was we told the food wasn’t even sat on (we waited about an hour and a half for our food). To conclude is this the worst resturant We’ve ever been at and the service and kitchen is incredible sloppy.

Food was good and the staff friendly. That's the good. The bad. They missed one person's order on our table completely. An IPA from the local brewery was $13. That is actually very high.

Good taste in tea! Food came out hot, fast, and delicious. I had excellent, friendly service too from Skyla, who had an really great tie. I recommend!
