This is what a bookstore should look like. It is well stocked with books from all genres from Art to War.
Friendly and helpful staff. Has a great collection of puzzles and games as well.

I've pretty much only purchased cookbooks here (of which there are a good selection). Staff are very friendly, and from what I can see, there are a lot of non-cooking books as well.

This is an adorable store with books, puzzles, and other little things. I really liked it. I bought a book and this tiny set of pencils. How cute is that? !

Flawless. Better stocked on quality books than the Public Library, passionate, well-read staff, and their prices are often better than Amazon - all in a 1,200sq ft.shop on Spring Garden. If you're not sure what to read or where to start, take any random book off the shelves - you'll like it.

Great little spot. If your looking for stationary or a journal, or creative envelope to send a letter, or of course a new book to read, they will order it for you if the don't have it! Plus they have a points system! Kind of like Presidents Choice (with Superstore)! I've gotten free items more than once, because of past purchases I've made with the points I accumulated from each purchase. Now that's cool! Always stop in for a minute- but end up staying at least an hour.if not more!

I have been coming here for years. The staff and owners are incredible hard working brilliant and funny. If they don't have it on the shelf or in their online database to order.the book likely doesn't exist or is long our of print. This was the first shop in the 90s to have an LGBTQ shelf. They have puzzles, fancy pens and diaries, all sorts of puzzle books and calendars too and one of the largest local books and authors collection of any store in town. When I move to Halifax in 1994 there was Bookmark, Smiths. Entitlement, Frog Hollow, Trident Woozles, Carrefour and a number of 2nd hand and university bookstores bur the big three were Bookmark, Entitlement and Frog Hollow. They all offered something different and unique and you could see all three as they were all on the South Park end of Spring Garden.
It is a real miracle and a real blessing that we still have independent bookstores like The Bookmark in our city still. Independent and local. We have lost so much in the city to this digital world, very sad really so I am very happy Bookmark has survived. I thank them for all they have done for us and the city. I hope and pray that they are here for generations to come.

Love the selections at this bookstore. Found the best puzzle advent calendar here, along with so many books that were on my reading list. Great selection of games, pens, stickers, cards, etc. I am never disappointed when I visit.and never walk out empty handed.

Stopped in for my first visit today. I can say this place seems to have quite the variety for the size. The atmosphere was calming and appropriate. Will have to go back to grab a few things from this shop.

I am from USA and I have family that lives in Nova Scotia. I ordered books through this bookstore email. It was a very easy and smooth process. I really appreciate how they quickly set my order into motion. I look forward to hearing from my daughter soon to say that they received the books.

Love this independent bookstore! I have purchased many books here and they have plenty of the big titles as well as some unique finds. They also have a fabulous selection of notebooks, stationery, and literary-themed gifts. I have ordered books online from them when I wanted to reserve something specific or when the title I wanted wasn’t in stock, and it was usually quick and easy. Great place to shop in the heart of downtown.

Cute store with a super convenient location and super nice employees. I was able to track down a book that I could not find anywhere else in Halifax here. The only thing I would change is the size, if there's more than 2 other people in there, you're always bumping into someone or waiting to look at a section since it is crammed together.

Gorgeous, friendly bookstore with loads of interesting additional items besides books. I loved it, popped in on vacation today.

Has a membership if you shop frequently and such a great variety of books. Only sad point was I couldn't find graphic novels, but otherwise beautiful store

An independent source of print media is not only welcome but cherished. They have books that are of local interest, books that may not have been selected for ascension, books that are unique. My favourite bookstore.

A curated selection of books that knocked a few hard to find stories off my list. Well organized, well staffed, and just nice to look at. Will be coming back here again

Great layout, lots of good gift ideas. Small, so the selection isn't enormous, but there is enough good of every kind it is hard to be bothered.
