Bras D'Or View Restaurant And Kow's Inn

Stopped in for dinner, it was quick, the owner should be respected! She works hard and is trying to make a good go of her restaurant. It’s the off season so her efforts to reduce costs are appreciated. Had a great conversation with her and she’s dedicated. Her food was perfect. A good selection of Chinese, Canadian meals and some others. Great options. Also serve alcohol if you prefer a refreshing drink with your meal.
I will be back and have found a new favourite to my NS list.

I had some of the Chinese food, which was lovely. But, the pie served as dessert was completely moldy and inedible.

The short-staffed owner opened today as a favour to the two nearby motels. She did ALL the work - serving AND cooking! And she did everything so well, still smiling! I had the Everything Omelette and it was fantastic! Please give her restaurant a try, business has been slow this year!

I cannot comment on the food because we are still waiting for it. Last people (locals) to enter restaurant have their food. Everyone else is still waiting. We have been waiting for 40 minutes for breakfast…. Restaurant is 1/2 full. I strongly advise against coming here.

Pancakes the best I've had in Canada. Service prompt, food good, cheerful staff. Would return if in the area afain.

Good seafood chowder. Made fresh to order, so it will take a bit for your order but worth it.

Had a lovely overnighter before catching the ferry to Newfoundland. Very clean, updated suite. Bed was very comfortable. We ordered dinner and brought it to our room; the food was delicious. Highly recommend

This was our second visit as the first was awesome so we wanted to come back. Won't be back a third time! We ordered 2 of the specials. One was great the other tasted off and there was a piece of a stick in the food and waitress was notified right away. The Waitress was lovely and as helpful as she was allowed to be. Asked to return it and order something else. The new dish was excellent. We got the bill and were charged for the un satisfactory plate as well (that had a stick in it). Asked to speak to the owner to discuss and when she came out immediately started actually yelling at me about no discounts and implied I put the stick there before I could even speak. Very poor management/owner, she is very unprofessional, rude and I wasn't allowed to speak before she stormed back into the kitchen and slammed the door yelling in a different language. The Waitress got a great tip though as she was great.

Amazing home style breakfast that’s close to the North Sydney Ferry. The server was almost as wonderful as the scrambled eggs and fresh cut potatoes! The coffee was also perfect. This place is fantastic!

Booked here on February 28th and head was not good in rmyhe room. Took 4 hours for the room to be comfortable

Had a fantastic meal. The hot hamburger and hamburger steak dinner. Absolutely the best flavored meal I've had in a very long time. Grass Fed beef and the gravy was the tastiest. The owner Kim is a fantastic waitress as well. Lovely to talk too. We'll be back there again and again. Hats off to the cooks and kitchen staff. On top of the meal the dining room is spotless. They work to keep it looking it's best.

Everything in the room was brand new and spotless. The lady who runs the place is amazing. I can't recall her name but she got a room ready within half hour when I called at nearly 10 at night. Absolutely amazing customer service, accommodations and just simply the best personable service I could have asked for on a two day unplanned stop due to ferry cancelations. I highly recommend Kow's. It's not even five minutes to north Sydney and about 10-15 minutes to Sydney for shipping conveniences. Beautiful spot to roam around the area day or night. Thanks again!
