BrokerLink

I wouldn't recommend BrokerLink to my worst enemy. The brokerage I dealt with for the past 10 years was bought out by BrokerLink and my auto insurance policy is coming up for renewal next month. I received a letter from BrokerLink informing me that they no longer deal with the company who my current auto insrance policy is through and that BrokerLink had gone ahead and set up a new auto insurance policy through Intact Insurance. This new Intact Insurance policy was set up without my consent or prior knowledge and, looking at the documents from Intact, a credit check was completed without my knowledge or consent. To add insult, the new Intact insurance policy would cost substantially more each year than my existing insurance. When I called BrokerLink to try and understand why they set up a new policy in my name without my permission and to cancel it, I waited over an hour on hold only to get a whole lot of "I don't know how it happened" and when I pointed out that a credit check had been completed without my consent, a flippant response of "it was just a soft credit check". I then asked about their complaint process. The rep I spoke with didn't know the process and said maybe I could check their website (Spoiler alert: the website has nothing about their complaint process). Long story short, I was successful in canceling the policy I never took out in the first place but still have no satisfactory answers as to how it happened or why on earth nobody phoned to discuss options prior to a new policy being set up. I also shopped around, ended up getting a better rate than I have today somewhere else and am looking forward to being done with BrokerLink for good.

After spending a couple of hours on the phone being redirected to multiple people I decided to give up and take a drive to their office, BrokeLink on Dartmouth rd in Bedford.
I was met by the receptionist with a friendly smile and she put me in touch with the person I needed to speak with. I met Jenny and things couldn’t have went smoother. Jenny was awesome and answered my questions with ease and also offered professional advice.
So my advice is, don’t waste time on the phone… get out side and meet people face to face like the “good O’l days”.
