I found it took a little bit to get waited on. But when we did the girl was really nice and the kids loved building the Bears very expensive. $15 to $20 for accessories or more is crazy and bears are up there in price as well from $30 to $50 bucks. But the kids enjoyment priceless.

Shopped here in Halifax and also Moncton over the last 10 years or so and today was the experience that would make you wonder why you shop there. 3 associates in the store and about 10 clients, nobody was being helped. I had to drag the girl off the filler machine to ask questions as the 2 associates that were 5 feet from me wouldn't help.
The only thing that saves this is the child was not with us, we are shopping the finished Bear.

All that being said, the item is 100% great product and great value.

Terrific place to bring your kids and occupy their time doing something constructive. The store definitely knows how to engage kids and have them participate in the purchase. My daughter loved coming here when she was little and still remembers the experience.

I wanted to make a present with a personalized message for my former work colleagues. And Build-a-Bear seemed like a great place to make something they could never forget me with!
Jessica, my helper, had a great sense of humour, since it wasn't a traditional bear for children.

Great store for kids. I must say that it is a little overpriced for what you get but it's a good toy.

Staff was friendly store was clean. Not a huge selection on accessories/clothing for the bears and most stuff that was there is more appealing to little girls and not so much little boys. Over all my son was happy with the experience

I went here a few months ago with my partner who was visiting. We got in, picked my bear, then went to the stuffing area. The person stuffing was not pleasant, very condescending and overall grumpy. I even had my stuffy overfilled and very hard when I asked for the in between option, but I was too scared that they’d get even grumpier with me so I just let it be. During the whole heart process they seemed very annoyed with me and were rushing it so quickly. At the end of it all I just felt humiliated and sad, feeling like I wasn’t important and was being judged for my age. I thought it would a memorable good time but it just left me feeling bummed out.

I took my kid there to have their cheap stuffed animal, $3 dollar one, for her birthday. The lady there said "sure, grab any of the animal from lower shelf" which I did. Then after she made it ready she said it is $37 plus tax. I said how come she said the $3 dollar animal is only that specific one pointing to one animal on the corner.so I was thinking of spending $20, $3 + some accessories, but ended up paying $40 dollar something.
Also it turned out our kid was allergic to material used in that toy or stuffing material.

Worst customer experience ever!

We (my wife and I) entered the store this afternoon and my 3 year old daughter and 1 year old son. My daughter had an ice cream cone in her hand and approximately 10 feet into the store a lady working there greeted us by yelling from behind the cashier desk “you should leave the store now, you cannot be in here with food”. We were startled, this lady really let us have it. We said okay no problem and my daughter and wife went out to the bench’s outside of the store while my son and I continued to browse.

We choose our bear and were in the middle of getting it stuffed when my daughter and wife came back in after having finished her ice cream and was all cleaned up. The same lady looked at my wife and daughter and said to her co-worker (loud enough that my wife could hear) “oh my god they are back”. My wife said “excuse me that wasn’t very nice”. The lady said “I should take this back to the bin” as she picked up a bear that was sitting beside her. My wife said “okay then take it back”, the lady said “I wasn't talking to you”. My wife continues into the store to come see me.

Next one of the other store associates said “you have to leave the store your behavior is not appropriate for a kids store”. My wife said “I won’t leave, I didn’t do anything wrong”. The same lady said “the security is here to escort you out, and if you don’t leave we will call the police”. My wife who couldn’t believe what was happening left the store and talked with the security guard outside while myself and the kids finished purchasing the bear.

The security guard let my wife know that the lady who called and who was talking to her was the store manager and he merely wanted to keep the peace.

We are perplexed at what could have possibly motivated this lady to yell at us when we entered, made snide remarks after following her instructions and then called security like my wife had stolen something or used profanity. Could have been that my wife is from another country (outside of Canada) ? Or was this lady just out for blood today?

Brutal customer service skills and our first and only trip to Build-A-Bear Dartmouth. We will never return.

Went here today for the first time, the staff was more interested in having their own conversation then helping. Customer service is severely lacking at this location. Will not be back. Save your $100 bucks and go somewhere with better customer service.

I would have given this a 1 star, but there was one girl with curly lighter hair who ended up helping me complete the purchase, so gave 2 stars. The other 2 staff were not helpful and made us/me feel like we were an inconvenience.

Very prejudice and discriminatory. Tries to take my 4 year old daughter in to build herself a bear but was met with blatant racism. It took me quite sometime to explain why some people did not like other people based on who their ancestors were. Very, very disheartened.

The staff here is beyond rude. My family came for a visit and my niece was beyond excited to go (as they do not have a build a bear where they are from) I originally waited in line and told the worker my family of FIVE is joining me. They said nothing only “one family per wall” so we figured it was perfect we could all go in. It was our turn and I went in, one of my family members had a drink and I told him to come in when the worker very rudely said “he can’t just come in we have a policy and he can’t come in with his drink” he then threw out his drink where she continued to not let him in. My other family members came and she then told them they could not come in only 2 people (which I understand with Covid but not when I was told differently in the beginning) the worker continued to be beyond ignorant and rude. An exciting visit for my family turned into a horrible experience here. We have gone to build a bear every time they are up and we most definitely will NEVER be back again.

This customer service was really poor my niece wanted a build a bear I was told not to touch any of them till I was buying the item after I decided I found and I asked my niece would out want to put a sound in it after asking the person (which I have the name of the worker and the receipt) he told me no because ur not building it I then asked to build one and I wasn’t answer then began to scan the price tags I was that frustrated I just wanted to buy it and get out of the store at the very end I asked if there was a Survey the person no I don’t think I did look at the receipt and show there was and I explained that the person hated her job as I can tell and I work for a big business definitely not acceptable I really want to post the name of this person in the Micmac mall. I will most likely make a Facebook post and show the actual receipt with the name.hire workers that want to work and not hate there job!

Not as interactive as it was before covid. Build a bear is alot about the experience and the covid protocols ruin that. You can buy a stuffed animal anywhere.

Decided to visit for the first time with my children and they had a blast! Lots of bear options to choose from at a reasonable price. Staff were very friendly, cheerful and helpful and even had my kids do a little chant with the hearts which I didn’t know would be part of the process. The only thing is the clothes for the teddy bears are more expensive than I had hoped, ranging around $15 an outfit.but regardless it was a memorable experience that they won’t forget and we will be visiting again.

Very rude staff. Plus, they almost refused to let us in the store because my two year old doesn’t wear a mask. They’re store policy is that anyone over the age of 2 must wear a mask. The provincial rules are age of 4. The staff argued this with me and then told me that most 2 years wear masks. I’m sorry but that’s not true! This is rude and I think it’s ridiculous that a company that is geared towards children would enforce rules that don’t line with the province. They should know that 2 years are most likely not going to comply with wearing a mask. If I hadn’t needed to by a birthday gift for my niece I wouldn’t have supported such a company. In fact I regret that I did and will not be returning to this store location or any other build a bears!

My 3 year old who has Asthma who had a face shield on What is denied entry to the store for the fact that she did not have a mascon but she had a face shield that comes from her for head right down past her chin to her shoulder level but no that was not good enough and for her to be told she’s not allowed which goes against the federal and provincial guidelines it’s absolutely ridiculous and be told that she can stand outside the store it’s absolutely disgusting and the fact that she can’t use the sanitizer so that you guys provide because she is medically allergic to it as well is also disgusting as well to try and force that upon children

So we went there to buy stuffed bear for our daughter's birthday. The sales person guided us on where to pick the outer layer that can be later stuffed. This was our first time so we wanted to take a look around on what the shop has to offer.sales guy followed us to tell us to get back to the area to first select the toy to be filled. I told him i am having a look around first.and his next question was so you are not sure yet, are you buying today or not? I was like i am deciding. And he says we have customers who are going to buy and they are waiting. Me and my husband were the only one in the shop at that time and we had not taken even 5 mins there yet. He said i am gonna let the other customer in and you can't go to that side now.we all were wearing masks and he was telling us that we cannot go into an area of the shop like we are contagious.on this we simply left the shops. Such a horrible experience it was.

It was very thoughtful layout, a plethora of options, to meets the wants of any person, you read that right, because it's not just for children, anyone can can go in and build their dream stuffy. There are lots of customization options. My kid seems to have found his forever toy (at least for the next few weeks). Each creation gets a nice, authentic, l birth certificate too!

This was my first time at Build-A-Bear to get a bear for my partner who is overseas with the military. The staff member (I cannot recall her name) was incredibly helpful and friendly throughout the entire experience. I quite enjoyed my time here, and would recommend this location in a heartbeat.

I was there on Wed. I had over $190. Build a Bear cards The kind you pay $5 for an use for $10. I had asked if that counts with the items that I bought she said no. With the build a Bear cards plus I paid $139. For the rest of my purchase and received $90.for the rest of my items, I went there again Monday night to used up me $90. The lady gave me more cards back, I had mentioned it to her she's the manager and she said yes you can do that, that's a real sham because I take my 4 grandchildren and my goddaughter every Christmas

Chris stuffed our firemonkey George with extra care and love.even helped us track down the right boots for fire fighting.

Truly the worst customer service I have ever experienced. We took my three year old to Build a Bear in MicMac Mall for his birthday. We stood in line for 15 minutes and just when we were to be next in line the manager sent us to the other end of the line to be waited on. However then the person who was to be waiting on us was then sent to take care of the people waiting at the cash register. So he was left waiting again. The assistant manager then proceeded to wait on the adult customer that was in line behind us. When our three year old came over to see what she was doing she told him to wait his turn. To say I am discusted is beyond an understatement!
When I attempted to speak to the assistant manager about the poor service she yelled at me that she will not listen to criticism. Needless to say we left with a very sad little boy without his special bear. I would never spend a penny in that store!
