Burrito Jax

I went there at around 7: 05 pm on hov 25 2023. The guy didn’t changed the gloves. He was doing something then he took my order I paid for it first he used the same gloves to touch the pos machine and put the amount manually in the machine. Then he touched all the vegetables with the same gloves and made the bowl I ordered. The food safety should definitely inspect how this guys are serving the food with extra germs as toppings.highly disgusting and disappointing.

Disappointing food. I ordered a peppercorn steak burrito bowl and a pulled pork burrito. The meat was thin, flavorless, soggy, and wasn't even seasoned. Everything was bland, flavorless, and very unsatisfying. Customer service was ok but we kept needing to ask for adequate servings of toppings (not extra, just adequate).

We couldn't finish the food due to how bad it was. We'll probably never try a Burrito Jax again if this is their standard.

Regretting not going to The Burger King across the street.

They have amazing burritos.heavily loaded.great employees.
The sauses are just lovely!

I am shocked that people are giving one star only, I wanted to try out their food after seeing all reviews just to check their food and service.
I can say that I was not disappointed after tasting the chicken bowl, Taste was reall good,
Owner even gave me free cookie and guacamole to try. It was worth spending $20.
I will definitely be coming back to try beef.

The restaurant was pretty dirty when I walked in. The nice ladies seemed to be overrun by skip orders. I was the only one there. The food tasted okay, but there was just rice in my veggie burrito. I got a large but it was much smaller than the small from before. I haven't been there in about 6 months but man, has it ever gone downhill. It is very cheap. To give you an idea; the sweet potato and guacamole spread was about as much butter as you'd put on your toast in the morning. It was there for a bit of colour, you could not taste any of it, only rice. There were about 8 kernels of corn and 6 spinach leaves. This is a VEGGIE burrito that costs almost as much as a steak one, let's not be greedy and actually make a large burrito. Sick of wasting my money on these places when I could've gone to burger king.

I avoid this place now, and suggest others do the same. Food safety and hygiene issues and the staff get the orders wrong in some way more or less 100% of the time.

These people need some serious attention. Firstly they don't check online orders, waste customers time. Don't know about the quantity their hot sauce is spicy I don't think so that was one line as I requested.
Poor customization of food they will make your order the way they want.

This location needs to be cleaned up. It needs staff who can understand your order and stop making mistakes. We go often and love this local chain, but there is no supervision at the Kempt Rd.location. It should be cleaner than it is. The whole place. I think they are overwhelmed with online orders and delivery with only 2 employees working. The new take out bowls are awful they get soft very quickly, and are difficult to eat out of. And put your left overs in something else. The lids come off too easily and one of our last orders ended up on the floor, because of the flimsy bowl and lid. That was a huge waist of money and a wasted paid for meal. We love this place and the location, I hear the downtown place is completely different. Management is around and it's clean. There is potential for a lot of traffic on Kempt Rd with the Military base and not a lot is offered in the North end. The parking lot is terrible, with little space available and it's mostly curbed so finding the driveway to back out onto busy Kempt Rd is difficult. And when I ask for salsa I don't want to be given Pico. The burrito bowl sizes seem to be getting smaller, especially when you pay for Guac and they give you the tiniest amount. And they are now pre cooking the meat so it's not cooked fresh. This may be a time and staff issue. I want to see this stay open, but the whole place needs a very good cleaning!

The most terrible experience of a Burrito I ever had the store was dingy and dirty looking the burrito tasted like rice & spice. BIG difference from the last time I was there. I will be going elsewhere from now on. NICE TO SEE HOW THE MANAGER LEFT A COMMENT FOR THE ONE GOOD REVIEW BUT NOTHING ABOUT THE COMPLAINTS VERY SAD.

Either employees are illiterate or are maliciously giving me the wrong stuff but every time I order from them online they give me the wrong sauce. Read your orders. If you're sold out of something it isn't acceptable to just toss whatever you want in the bag.

Not clean inside. The grill is dirty, the walls are dirty and the staff ambition is low.

This place used to rock and now it's pretty meh/ew. Zoom in to pick to see crusties on knives, grime on walls and sticky grill surfaces.

The food is always good, but the customer service varies depending on which staff member you get. Mann provided me with excellent service last time I went.

I don’t usually post reviews but I had to for this time bc I was utterly disappointed. I went to this exact burrito jax for the second time. First time the owner prepared the order for me and he was nice and the portion sizes were great but this time I got the quesadilla with negligible amounts of meat, veggies and cheese. I understand that they’re there to make profits but I wouldn’t wanna spend $20 for literally no beans, no veggies, no cheese and no meat.

There was mistake on my take out order once from a new employee and I called the store and the owner remade my order and delivered it himself. Great customer service, always great food.

The only burrito place I'll go to in Halifax! Extremely amiable workers and great food (fast and efficient).

Love burrito jax, but this location (Kempt rd) has gone so down hill, will not be returning…waited about 10 minutes for the woman to make my burrito, it was still completely cold and when I took it back in she reheated it in the microwave for so long that it was too hot for her to even handle so she passed it back to me in a container, with all the burrito contents coming out of the wrap making it basically inedible…. This location was dirty inside and nothing looked overly fresh, that should have been my sign to just walk back out, very disappointing burrito jax!

Sadly it's not what it used to be, I used to like to get a burrito every once in awhile from here. Very light on what is put into a burrito, which is not worth it for $15 anymore. Very small amount of meat crammed into one corner of the burrito, had to open it up to check if it was even there.

I always order from this place as they have the best quality of sauces and freshly chopped veggies. I have recently ordered vegetarian burrito and veggie bowl with burrito sauce and bucking hot. It was the best burrito as always. Habanero sauce is the best, it gives a little kick to the burrito. Staff are really friendly. Worth spending the money. Must go to place.

Burrito Jax (Kempt Road) used to be a go-to place for delivery. We've noticed declining quality over the last year or so, but until now they still usually delivered an acceptable meal.

Our most recent order, last night, was a disaster. Out of two (2) Burrito Bowls and two (2) Burritos: 3/4 were missing toppings (e.g. Sour cream, smashed beans), 1/4 had burned rice and large bitter end chunks of lettuce (not shredded). 2/4 people barely ate their burrito bowl, while 2/4 folks had their order.not sit well.

1/4 of the meals were finished and satisfactory (albeit missing a topping), so I cannot rate 0 stars.but you can decide for yourself what level of satisfaction and taste you expect from where you order.

For our part, this will certainly be the last time we order from here.
