Wonderful beach, but the Provincial Park service needs to improve the 2 foot paths to access the beach.

Beautiful beach for lounging, walking/hiking, swimming, enjoying the ocean air, and most of all just relaxing. One of my favorite places to swim on Cape Breton Island. However, one needs to be very careful swimming here if there is any kind of wave action. If it's rough here I stay on the beach. Rolling waves pack a punch but are fun to swim in if you are a strong swimmer. I have used my SUP here on a few occasions. My favourite part is that you can go about ten feet out into the water from the beach and dive into the waves and be in eight or more feet deep Atlantic Ocean. The water here on swimming days is always refreshing!

The beach is amazing. It's about 3km long from cliffs to harbour. The sand is quartz coarse and can be a little hard on the bare feet, especially between the toes. I regularly walk the beach and it's really not that bad. I like to walk along the water's edge and have the waves lap at my tootsies!

Great spot for a picnic too. There are picnic tables, some even covered, to have a BBQ or to just eat a sandwich and relax. There are washrooms (outhouses) and they are fairly clean. Trash cans around the property too. There is a big field that you can play catch on. You can fly a kite here as there is usually some kind of breeze happening. I like to lay in the well mowed grass facing the mountains. Incredible view looking north and west.

As we say here in Cape Breton, if you are "doing the trail" take the right turn to head down North. There is lots to see past this Provincial Park: The Kauzmann Trail is breathtaking. Money Point is a heck of a hike but worth it for a nights stay at the tip of Cape Breton. Bay Saint Lawrence is a quaint fishing village where you can go on a whale watching tour. Move west along a neglected road to Meat Cove (I swear our provincial government has stock in spring and strut companies) and you will discover a view like no other. Nice camp ground there too-you should probably call a head for camp site reservations.

This area of Cape Breton Island is so worth a look. You will fill your camera roll with pictures!

Belle longue plage avec des toilettes et aire de pique-nique. Un must dans la région et pour l'histoire du monde.
