Cafe Taiyaki 52

I was visiting Halifax over the weekend and we went to Cafe Taiyaki for breakfast! What a neat experience it was. The cafe has great energy and atmosphere, very clean and super cute. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the food was tasty! I’m vegan so super grateful there were a few vegan options.

I ordered to take out but it’s early morning so it’s only me in the store and the vibe was so great and chill so I decided to stay and enjoy my breakfast. I had Macha latte, egg tart, and Taiyaki Ham& Cheese. It’s delicious and enough energy for the morning. Tea is perfect, not too sweet. My wife had Honey Citron Tea, and tofu Taiyaki, she loved it.
Definitely go back in the near future.

This place is the most adorable cafe! My wife and I love to come here when we're in Halifax. There are numerous gluten-free and vegan options, and everything's absolutely delicious! The staff are very friendly as well, 10/10!

Ngl, tempted to move to Halifax just so I could eat here every day and actually try their entire meni. Only been eating the original taiyaki batter with red bean amd vanilla custard filling. So addicted to those I couldnt order anything else. Caramel Macchiato was very nice and sweet too.

Such a great little spot for sandwiches and Taiyaki. The sandwich had a fun twist to it with its flaky and sweet « bun ». Generous potion or meat, cheese and crispy lettuce. The smoke meat sandwich was delicious!

I selected the party box of bite sized Taiyaki filled with chocolate/hazelnut, blueberry/cream cheese and pineapple. Such fun and tasty snacks to share with colleagues.

I ordered the kimchi tuna taiyaki and it was amazing! Fresh lettuce, just enough filling and the pastry was a tiny bit sweet Was not expecting to be so impressed. The atmosphere was also on point — bright and clean.

This place is so fun! The food is really good, exceptionally well priced, and good service.

I really like this place. It is my favorate cafe in Halifax. Coffee and all bread are so good. All Staff are so kind. Nice atmosphere!

If you've never tried taiyaki, it will change the way you see pastry sandwiches. Staff is incredibly welcoming and very cozy atmosphere. 100% recommend

Looks like that Korean street food at first but taste million times better~ I like the kind mannager takes after big bear from Korea.

It's really good. I've never seen bread like this. I definitely want to visit again. Recommended for those who want a special taste.

The workers were very friendly and helpful. They knew how to explain everything really well. The food was amazing in all aspects. The prices are fair. I had a savory and a sweet dish and their presentation was adorable and they tasted delicious! Great experience for a calming, cute place to have an outing on you own or with friends. The bathroom was also really clean and cute. The drinks were also great, with lot’s of options for milks. One of the best cafes I have been to in Halifax.

Cafe with good selection of desserts and sandwiches. We ordered turkey stuffing, pulled chicken as well as spinach and feta sandwich, best was pulled chicken and worst was turkey stuffing (with jam!) also found the sandwiches a bit greasy. Desserts were decent as well. Overall the experience was good, food was just on the heavier side.

Cute little place. Had the tuna kimchi sandwich, banana hot tea and matcha and white chocolate twist ice cream. Except for the drink which was tasted good but too sweet and artificial tasting for me.

Amazing Experience, first time in this beautiful little Café, the Taiyaki is absolutely delicious & the staff is friendly.

What can only be described as a soft, warm fish-shaped ice cream cone guzzling an unholy amount of matcha ice cream, with Pocky and other crunchy toppings erupting from its mouth, was an absolutely delicious experience. Have to come back here to try the drinks and food.

Delicious food at a perfect price. Their savory sandwiches and their sweet deserts are to die for and their drinks are too notch! I really recommend their smoothies and sweet and spicy chicken sandwich

I was so excited to try ice cream here! Their cones look so cute like little fish. When we arrived we were told they were out of cones which was a little disappointing but I ordered an ice cream in a cup. My husband ordered a coffee and a brownie which came out pretty quick and he said they were good. However after waiting about 30 minutes the couple that came in after us got their ice cream. A few minutes later the staff realized they gave them my icecream. The staff appologized to the couple for giving them the wrong order, but said nothing to me. After about 40 minutes we decided to leave. They then applogized and offered a refund because it would still be another 6 minutes. We didnt take the refund, but still chose to leave and we will not return.

Cute cafe for snacks and ice cream. Taiyaki was made crisp and fresh on the spot depending on the filling you want; I got a mini gang with red bean and blueberry cream cheese which tasted delightful. Service was also super friendly! I would say the prices were a little more than I would've expected, but I still would recommend that it's worth a one-time visit!

They served one of the dish wrong.
But when we told them, they were extremely sorry for the same.
They changed the dish, they returned the money and at the end they served us a portion of mini gang too. Loved the way they took care for us.

The photo shows a Jawdropper Ice Cream - a bowl of soft serve ice cream topped with three mini taiyaki waffles with choice of filling.

My order is another type of Jawdropper Ice Cream. It is a Taiyaki waffle cone with blueberry ice cream and some fillings. The ice cream is soft. The fruit taste is nice. The Taiyaki waffle cone is freshly made. It is still warm when you have the last bite.

Glad to come across with this cafe when I visit Halifax.

This is my favourite cafe in Halifax. The coffee is fantastic, and the taiyaki is awesome. The staff are very pleasant and helpful, and always make me feel welcome when they see me arrive.:)

Freshly prepared hot Korean taiyaki. Taiyaki is originally from Japan, but Korean taiyaki is crispier as NS lighter. Unfortunately, they didn’t have matcha ice cream (ice cream flavors change from time to time) …. Two taiyakis with whipping cream and fruits were also a good option. Great service and ambience. Sandwich was light…if you are hungry, definitely order a dessert as well.

I ordered a twist ice cream with blueberries at the bottom, $7.5 before tax, it was amazing! However, their service was not good enough -1.

Perfect place to study and get some work done while having a delicious Chai latte and either a fish shaped sandwich or one of their amazing dessert options!

Usually really good experiences, the Taiyaki are always tasty (I think that's what the fish are called) had the ham sandwich which was sort of messy as it's puffed pastery but decent. Otherwise a great place for lunch or coffee!

Discovered this place randomly while walking towards a brewery house. To be honest I really thought this was a Takoyaki House (Japanese Octopus Deep Fried Balls) but when I step inside, it seem to cute for it to be. Later on the day, gave it a second thought and I look them up to see the menu and little did I know it was a savoury / dessert place. I was kinda disappointed since I thought it was a takoyaki I was craving for some. BUT why not give this place a try. Came mid-afternoon for a snack and the interior is very modern and nice. Music was at a good level for having a conversation. They make all the Taiyaki’s to order so they were very fresh and piping hot. Their are multiple options for the fillings which was a nice change, but I had to get the OG flavour which was red bean. It was pretty good especially with the whip cream they provide for it. I regret not getting the Jaw Dropper which is the Taiyaki crust as a cone and either mango or matcha ice cream or even a twist. Next time when I venture the east coast definitely coming back to this place. Great work!

Got banana milk tea and it was delicious as always! Prompt service and very clean even thought they were extremely busy.

I haven’t tried any of their other stuff, but if you are looking at their dessert menu and want to go in and order, be prepared for no less than 20 mins (if not more). This has happened a couple of times, there is usually 1-2 people working.
Their food is great, selection is unique but it’s sort of pointless if you can’t get served.

Amazing cute place. Great treat I love to stop by for the seasonal specials or even just a Red Bean Taiyaki (my favourite) always fresh and warm made to order Taiyaki.
The sandwich ones are also amazing the cheese is so good!

Nice store, and a very nicely made latte for me today. It was one of the better ones that I've had. The service was exceptionally good as well. I'll make a point to visit again when I'm back in town.

Neat concept but not worth it. The food was okay, if overpriced, but that is what you expect with a restaurant like this. Unbelievably slow! We ordered three things, 2 of which took a half an hour to be served, while the third was almost 40 minutes. 40 minutes for a bacon and egg sandwich!

Warm little cafe offering delicious waffle dishes (with Gluten-free options, that are actually really really good!), amazing green tea, and fresh drip coffee. Not to mention some amazing ice cream options. Wi-Fi and washrooms available on site.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! They have Vegan options, they’re fast, they normally deliver exactly what you order and then some!

It has been four months or so since we were last at Cafe Taiyaki. Walking up to the cafe the first thing we noticed were Christmas style lights draped across the windows and inside, gone was the crisp, clean, tidy Cafe Taiyaki we had come to know and expect. It appears the cafe is going in a new direction with everything from cupcakes, Italian soda, ice cream, pizza style pastry to public notices taped to the walls.counters were cluttered. We were disappointed it has become just another common, independent coffee shop and not the destination coffee shop it was for us.the coffee itself was fine.

The owner is the cutest and really sweet. Would give 1 million stars. Food is delicious, you can't go wrong!

Super tasty with lots of flavor choices, very nice atmosphere. Only complaint is that food was served individually but not a big deal.

Nice place to go for a tastey and delicious dessert. There are different varieties and vegan options, it is more pricey than average similar places. I love the atmosphere and the location near downtown, but it is harder to find a close parking spot. Children are welcome.

Great atmosphere, and delicious desserts! We got addicted to “ mini gangs” a while ago, tried it with nutella and red bean filling, both are good but Nutella filling is the best one for me. Tried the savory classic taiyaki with spinach and feta, and I wasn’t a big fan of it. I would definetely recommend to try mini gangs!

Food is great, affordably priced and the atmosphere is awesome! Definitely a unique food experience, would highly recommend!
