Ordered the scallops and they were just TERRIBLE.
The table we were at had some horrible knocking noise behind the wall next to us.
The waitress forgot about our table entirely. Asked for coffee/water refill and she never came back. When we got to the register to pay she said right infront of our faces to her friend that she "completely forgot about us. "

This morning I went to Callisters, the food and service was great! I definitely recommend this place! They greet you when you come in and it’s a beautiful place.

Great food and service. Portions were plentiful and delicious. Went for breakfast and had eggs Benny, delicious and filling. Coffee was fantastic and endless cups. I will be going back to try out the dinner menu. Highly recommend.

Lots of empty tables but they seated a couple with 2 unruly kids amongst the other patrons.

Absolutely wonderful, one of few places in NS that left me wanting to go back for my next meal since I moved here in 2016.

Second time we tried this place and second time we left disappointed.
Ordered fish and chips and the fish cakes. Received 3 small pieces of fish, not fresh haddock and definitely not hand battered as described in the menu. The fish was soggy and not crispy and the fries were the same. Fish and chips are an easy meal to make and you missed the mark. The fish cakes were palatable but not great.

A diner should be faster or better than what you could get at home for cheap-to fair prices. It's never all three anywhere but here.

If homemade and lots of variety is what you crave, this is a great restaurant. Lots of diversity on the menu and includes several keto options. Wait time is average for food but worth the wait. They have a little gift area to browse that Includes beautiful handmade jewelry. The desserts are homemade and lots to choose from. The pies look to be quite a substantial size. I had the keto blueberry cheesecake to go on this visit. The size is smaller than in years past but the taste was wonderful. I ordered the wonton nachos this visit. This creative pairing was fantastic! Sweet, spicy, crunchy. It's on the starter menu but I couldn't finish it as a main dish. The deep fried wontons are covered with red, green and banana peppers and drizzled with sweet chili sauce. I had chicken added. The cost of the main was just shy of $18.00 without tax. Like many places, the menu prices are higher than in the past and it was close to $30 for one person not including tip and tax (meal, drink, desert). The music was a bit loud the day we visited but overall the service was good. It's a comfortable country like decor with back window views that are beautiful. I will go again.

Have been going here for breakfast and lunches for about a year now.
Service can be a little slow, but that seems mostly due to staffing issues, good workers hard to find these days, they are almost always packed which impacts service time. Food has been consistently good, decent portion sizes and fair pricing as well.
My favorite breakfast spot since moving to nova Scotia.

Stopped here about 4: 15pm today August 27. The air conditioning in here again is so COLD.we left without eating or ordering. Will not return anymore while ac might be running

Good portions, good prices and lots of refills on coffee and tea. Well worth the trip on a crazy busy holiday. Friendly service. Only down side there was no onions in our grilled potatoes and onion but like I said it was a super busy day there.

Very busy day at that place, I understand the delay for service. The server was great and smily, I did not expected that much food in the plate.everything was great, will go back.

This is my go to place when I’m driving or working in the valley it never disappoints and the price is always good. I’ve tried the green wrap…amazing and the chicken breast burger…amazing. I always get the callisthenics crisps. Love this place

We were in July 5th, between 4: 15 PM and 5: 30 PM. All 3 of us at the table ordered split pea soup and one plate to share of the breakfast defried hash browns. The Hash Browns were delicious, they were absolutely juicy and tender and hot they were perfect. The split pea soup on the other hand This was a huge huge disappointment. The split pea soup was like watered sludge with the flavoring of too many colves and carrots. Maybe this is a different version but this definitely was not split pea soup it was so water down it was awful. Far too many carrots, cloves, and celery But we all ate it. I'm pretty sure we'll won't be ordering that again that's for sure. I guess I used to the versions of a split pea soup, that ate actually thick and creamy. The young server we had was great.

Absolute joke of a "restaurant". Forgot to put in half of our groups orders, got th orders wrong. 20mins after ordering coming back to tell us they don't serve that item anymore, running out if Buns for burgers so serving them open face and saying "it's something new" etc.and then charging us full price for sub par food. Go elsewhere! I have a feeling that the 5 star reviews here are from staff and friends!

Good food at a fair price but not very quick. Waited 45 minutes for my breakfast and there was only 6 other people in the restaurant.

OMG! Skip the Irving COME HERE! You can see where the eggs come from out your country window view of a farm! Everything's so fresh.even the toast homemade! Prices and service that cant be beat! Even get a free dessert on your birthday! This was first time here.will now not be the last! Thank you Callister's!

One of our favorite spots it’s close to home and the food taste like home cooking you’ll go hungry but you’re gonna leave so full! The portions are beyond filling and the prices are great! We love it here!

Good home cooked menu. Potato Crisps were amazing. Husband’s roast beef dinner (senior size) was perfect and tender. My small spinach salad was well made. Reasonable price and great service

Meals were hot and quickly brought out. Staff were really friendly. It was a pleasant surprise on the way home to Halifax

We were on a long scenic drive from Bridgewater, on Mother's Day. Finding Callister's was a pleasant surprise.we ordered the Callister's Burgers and fries. The burgers were made of two large meat patties on a homemade bun. They were huge in size and flavour! We both could only eat 1/2 of ours. The service was great, and the place was very clean. I would recommend them to anyone.

Soup of the day. Split Pea and Ham.was both glutenfree and dairy free. So different from my own recipe. Absolutely a treat!

The dining room was cold enough that we had to wear our jackets to eat. Everyone else had either a jacket or big sweater on and it was mid afternoon. Though I have had breakfast there once before and it was great, our selection this time was not as good. My wife had the soup of the day which was not flavourful and I had the Turkey Mess which while well prepared was not what I expected. It was as described on the menu just not what I envisioned after having a turkey mess in Newfoundland.lol
