Sold my friend a faulty cable that fell apart first time using it and now they won't exchange or refund after literally less than 24 hours of having it. Nearly destroyed his monitor taking it out.

Save yourself the hassle and order online. If you really want to shop at a local place, order with them via pick up in store or go to another spot.

Waited in line at the motherboard counter for 15 minutes and got passed over for help by folks walking up to the counter. One bloke walked up with computer in hand and the staff skipped over me and one other to help them. Normally, I just order for in store pickup, but I wanted to see if I could get an opinion or recommendation. Shall not attempt again.

About a month ago I bought a new gaming PC, about a week after the first month, it stopped turning on completely out of no where.
Brought it in and they ran diagnostics and a week later, i get news its all good.
Turns out the motherboard died, fixed with in a week and great, get home turn it on and there is absolutely zero options to connect to wifi.
Thanks to help from my boyfriend, we find out that they didn't install any wifi driver, which I needed wifi to install. So after some DIY home fixes, we get it working again, no thanks to this company.
I'm super unimpressed and won't be shopping here again.

Huge shout out to Nick for doing a fantastic job building my gaming pc for me on the spot. I paid a company standard rush fee and was able to have my project completed that day. Fantastic work, no problems with the computer at all. I was super nervous going to a "big box store" but didn't have time to wait and needed it done that day. Thank you Nick and Canada Computers.

I went here to buy the parts for my pc, and to begin, the staff there are awesome, truly friendly and knowledgeable people. While I was picking out the parts I was getting assistance from a staff member named Nathan. If a Supervisor/Manager reads this, I want to let you know that Nathan did a really good job! Not so much about the store locations but the app is aggravating. Im looking for a rtx 3080 ti. The whole page says that it's in stock until you get to the checkout or trying to avoid this you have to click on each and every model to see if it's actually in stock or not.

Tried to buy a computer the other week, the store broke it somehow, no stock left and did not offer anything for replacement. Tech was quite checked out, did not seem interested in assisting me with a solution to the problem that they created. Trying currently to get the same computer online, was told there was a week delay before shipping now being told an additional 2 weeks delay before shipping. Terrible customer service, apparently subpar products as per their own technicians, terrible management of back end inventory, terrible management of customer service workers. Would give lower than 1 star if possible.

Great product selection. However pricing on the shelves was not up to date with the website and required assistance from the staff to find products. Having said that though, they were VERY helpful and went out of their way to assist in finding those products for me. Even opening a box on a new keyboard so I could look at it before purchasing. Awesome store with lots of cool stuff! Be careful though, as you'll probably end up buying something! LOL!

If you're looking for the latest nvidia video card (RTX 3090) and have a deep wallet, go for it. It's still in the 4 figure range (2 grand). Otherwise a great store for computer parts for PC building.

Worst customer service I have ever received. Somehow even worse than Bell Aliant.

Accidentally had an error in my shipping address & didn't notice until it was flagged on the tracking. I called Purolator to update the address (literally just adding the house number) and they said Canada Computers has the order locked so that only they can update the shipping address by email. Called Canada Computers and they refuse to send an email to Purolator & instead insist the package be picked up at Purolator. The package was being shipped to my mother who cannot pick it up, which is why she paid $30+ in shipping fees to have it show up at her doorstep instead of just driving to Canada Computers and purchasing in store.

Canada Computers would rather call Purolator to cancel the order, have it shipped back to them and make my mother on a pension wait 3-4 weeks for a refund than send an email to update the shipping address.

Do not buy from this company, they do not deserve your money. Order from Newegg or Memory Express instead.

My go-to store for all my computing needs. A couple years ago, I custom-built 2 desktop PCs with Canada Computers, and I am very happy with both computers. I purchase all of my parts online on their website, waiting for sales and deals and once I had collected all the necessary parts, I brought everything in to the store and had their technicians build it for me. For what they charge for building a PC, it is worth it. I highly recommend doing this. They do this every day and they know what they are doing.

I could have easily built both computers myself, but I was happy to pay them to do it for one reason: for parts that are DOA. I can easily build a computer myself, but would rather not be troubleshooting a computer because some parts are DOA (and it happens more often than you think). For both of my computers, there was at least one part that was DOA, and because I bought all my parts at Canada Computers, they replaced them without question - this no-questions-asked policy is worth it for me. The only thing is, don't wait too long after purchasing your computer parts/components before having them build your PC, as some parts warranties are time-limited.

I walked into the store to check out what was available for someone who games and likes to stream their experience online etc. I was not expecting to walk away with a PC in hand, but I was happily consulted on great needs based questions and my budget. Did not catch his name but he was an incredibly friendly Asian gentleman. These guys will not try to prioritize selling you what you do not need, and he spent about 15-20 minutes with me listening closely to important details and showing me multiple pre-built options to keep me under my $2000 budget, and did not give any sense of pressure to buy now. I did seem to make it just in time though, as the weekly special he showed me was a steal! Everyone working here seems incredibly knowledgeable and there is no charge for a simple consultation if you don't quite know what you are looking for. The PC is beautifully built, no issues a few days into using it, and stunning RGB lights on the inside for that extra touch to show off to friends! 5/5 would recommend this location

They'll happily sell you a case that's the wrong model while charging for the premium version. Had it been fixed in their inventory at the very least, I wouldn't mind much. I guess Newegg, Amazon, B&H and every one else is incorrect while CC knows best. Too bad, first experience with them was a real bummer. They get a star for the return desk guy being very nice and knowledgeable.

It's a very large store with lots of helpful and knowledgeable staff. It's nice to have local big box computer store to nerd out in and look at the new tech that is out. I've never had any issues and it's my go to, when buying computer parts.

I had a new monitor on hold for 2 hours with confirmation e-mail saying ready for pickup and they sold it to another customer. Then they tried to sell me the floor model with marks on the screen, their website says you have 2 days to pick it up, but that's a lie. Terrible service.

Went in super stressed with a laptop fan that wasn’t working properly. Jordan was amazing and super helpful, fixed my issue within 15 minutes! This man deserves a raise, super thankful for this experience!

I can't say enough great things about Canada Computers. The employees are SO helpful, as I normally look like a damsel in distress in these places. They won't oversell you on what you don't need, an really take the time to explain their products.

They are gauging the price of Nvidia video cards and are selling them only if you buy the whole computer.
The excuse is because of scalpers, but what they are doing is exactly the same, and worse because the price is inflated and they are available only in bundles.

Great range of products, excellent service. You can find all sorts of computer related things and even put a tower together with the specifications you desire. I recently bought my new laptop from them, a few gadgets and left my husband's laptop to be diagnosed. I've got pretty good discounts for boxing week.

This place came recommended to me as a local business, which was appealing to me. I needed a new laptop, so I went in and was helped by a friendly person, and left with my new laptop, a lenovo ideapad. When I was setting it up, it said that there was only 10 months left on my warranty, which was really weird for me. When I would install a program, it would give me an error, then install it anyway, and later I would get weird glitchy errors when using the program. The camera also made it look like I was in a fog bank. It was super blurry. The webcam on my 5 year old mac was far better than this one. Needless to say, the laptop didn't meet my expectations and I recognize that this isn't the fault of the store. I eventually left the store with a full refund, but the person that I dealt with negated everything I said was wrong with the laptop. I explained the warranty issue, he fiddled around with it and showed me a date that reflected the date that I actually bought the laptop, which is fine, but I know what I read and it clearly said the warranty only had 10 months left on it. I looked up online that lenovo computers can have errors on their warranties and that some people have to call the company to reset theirs, so I'm not the only person this happens to and I'm surprised that a lenovo dealer such as Canada Computers isn't aware this issue and would just deny my statements. We couldn't recreate the errors that I was experiencing with the programs when I was in the store either, so that was denied by the customer service person as well. When I mentioned the webcam issue, he opened that up too, and I became worried that it would be crystal clear or something and make me look like an idiot since none of the other issues I was experiencing at home could be proven in store. Luckily, the camera was incredibly blurry, just as I said it was. The person helping me said, "Oh, well that's because it's pointed right at the lights. " I explained that this is exactly what was happening at home and that I didn't have this sort of lighting in my home office. I need a decent camera on my work laptop since videoconferencing is kind of important nowadays. I'm not really sure why everything I was concerned about had to be negated in such a manner. I wasn't even actually told that they were going to refund me, so it felt like I was being told that none of my concerns were real, which suggested that I was going to be stuck with the computer. I wanted to go to this place because they are locally operated and rather than going to one of the big box stores, I thought it would be good to support this business. Instead, I was told that none of my issues were real, but it was also explained to me that I can just take time to troubleshoot all the problems. I just don't have time to figure out problems with a brand new computer nor do I enjoy being told that my issues are not real. Someone in line while I was waiting to get into the store said to get my money back and go somewhere else. I think that was good advice. It's a shame though because the initial customer service was great.

Absolutely no service no help interaction with myself or other customers. They probably love their work as they regale each other of stories about the customer base. If we are not wanted in the store then make it a pick up only or delivery only store. The only person who seemed to know his job was the guy on the cash. But, still didn't know how to deal with questions posed by those older and ran away from the cash if you did not have any merchandise in your hands. Definitely not a repeat customer! Sorry is the closest I would would say about this company as being Canadian.

One of the worst customer service experiences ever. I bought a bunch of new parts from them and there was a missing item in my order. To reach the store there are 3 options. You can go there where you will wait an hour outside before going in. You can send an email which I tried and never got a response. Or call where they've only answered my call once out of the 10 or so times I called. The time they answered the phone and I told them about the missing item, they told me they don't handle those issues in store and I had to call the head office. Fair enough I thought and I tried to contact the head office. I first tried calling and got greeted by an automated system which once I selected the department told me "we are too busy to take your call right now” and hung up. I tried calling about 6 times over the course of 2 weeks with the same result every time. I also tried sending them an email. I got no response from any of the 3 emails I sent. My issue hasn't been resolved and frankly, I don't want to support a company that is too busy to offer any sort of customer service. After the Christmas rush, I will be going back and getting a refund. I'd advise you shop somewhere else. There are other computer stores that aren't too busy to answer an email when you have an issue.

Staff lied to me about getting a new COD game for free when i purchase a new video card (rtx 3080), manager was no help on the phone and frankly didn't care that I told him that it was bad customer service to promise someone something and to not acknowledge that promise, manager was not phased by this and told me to deal with EVGA, contacted EVGA and they said it was through the retailer, manager doesn't care. I won't be supporting this business again, frankly if there wasn't a lack of Graphics cards to buy right now, i would have never supported there business due to their morals.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Customer service is the most terrible thing I’ve ever encountered. I never even got to experience it. It was brutally impossible to to cancel an order, as they would never answer. Once my order was delivered, my power supply was defected and now I am attempting to get a hold of them. Filed tickets, called, and waited for hours. I even got hung up on without speaking to anyone. Would never recommend ordering from this company if you didn’t have to.

As I have seen on this website, I agree with some of the posters about poor customer service! No one answers the phone. No one responds to emails. I bought a laptop back in April and already the pointing device doesn't work. When I looked up how to fix the problem online, the internet said I should be able to update the drivers. When you go to the control panel, there is no option to pick the pointing device under "Mice and hardware". I shouldn't have to bring the laptop back to the store for such a simple problem! I was impressed at first when I bought the laptop, but they seem to not be interested in helping once you leave the store with your item!

I don’t know where to start. Customer service is non-existent. My friend purchased a $1,400 monitor with a $300 warranty, the monitor didn’t come with mounting screws to secure it to the stand. After bringing it up to the store managers attention he suggested he goes to Home Depot to pickup screws lol. With the lack of service received my friend decided to return the monitor. We were in the store for a solid 40 min after they took the monitor waiting for the return. Honestly this left a sour taste in my mouth and I will never purchase anything from this store. Best Buy set a bar too high for this company to follow. Wish them all the best but until they learn more about customer service they will not succeed.

Horrible website. For a place that sells computers you would think they would have it running better. You have one of 2 choices see the photos and can't read anything or you can just read 2 lines at a time cand see anything. I gave them a 3 hoping the in-store service is better.

Horrible service buyer beware.
Purchased expensive keyboard one key popped off within a couple weeks.
Tried to exchange item and they would not do it because the service guy said it was "physical damage and they do we cover physical damage". There was no physical damage only a defective product and I will not shop somewhere that does not allow returns or replacement of defective items. Horrible service. Another thing to note is that when I emailed them with my issue they would not even respond.

Nice to have this shop locally for components and for us DIY system builders. I've always found the staff to be quite friendly, as well, and they seem pretty well informed.

RE: some of the reviews below, the first few months during COVID made entering the store a bit restrictive (2 people at at ime), but I won't blame a business for trying to protect everyone during uncertain times. And as of writing, they're up to 1 person per employee in the store and wait times are negligible when I've popped in.

This is a fantastic store for computer components and had the best pricing on most of the items they sell. Most of the staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Just forgive the upsell when going through the checkout.

The folks that work here are very helpful and knowledgeable about everything that relate to computers. They helped me pick out a proper PSU and a proper cooler for my PC upgrade so my system wouldn't underperform and overheat. Very satisfied with their selection and the folks that helped me.

Mediocre service, condescending staff.

Had a question about a price match.

Was told that I would have to factor in the cost of overnight shipping to the price match, though Canada computers would ship it in 2-3 weeks.

Walked right out. What a joke. How is it a price match if it's not the same service. This was a $9 price match on a $1000 item, so it wasn't hurting margins.can only imagine the staff get a kick out of saying no in a twisted manner.

Ive been to this store many times.much better than best buy. Miles better even. Any PC part you could possibly want.the staff are incredibly helpful except maybe one or two people.

Ive been abandoned a few times by the smaller Alex guy on different visits to the store. I have also noticed this person sitting numerous times and on his phone every time I go there. I guess the management doesnt care much.but the others wouldnt seem to dare sit or be on their phone when customers are in the store.

Anyway I digress. This is a great store.id give it a 5 star if it werent for the bad handful of interactions Ive had with this one employee.

You would think that on opening weekend they would go all out to establish a reputation for good service and competitive prices. They quickly erased that possibility with me when they refused to price match (for a cheap mouse of all things) with Best Buy, so I went to Best Buy.

The Prices are great, and its a Great addition to Halifax for the Gaming/Computer Scene. I Have Built Computers from components purchased here and most of the staff are Friendly. However, I Waited 45 Minutes at the counter for someone to help me just to buy a stick of ram, and had someone push ahead of me and get the attention of someone to purchase their ram. I ended up walking out after waiting, was not impressed at the service. 45 Minutes and was not even acknowledged.

Store seems to have a good selection of products. Nice to see a dedicated store for computers in Halifax. Store is always clean and tidy with lots of staff around to answer questions.
Our first time there it was supposed to be open until 8. Met an employee in the parking lot who said they were closed. Ask what time they were open until and he said 8 with a smile and proceeded to get into his car and drive away. It was 7: 15. Since that day, we visited two more times in which the store was closed, contrary to the posted hours.

Hands down the best place for everything computer related. Friendly staff, excellent customer service.

This is a company that genuinely cares about their customers. Great addition to the Bayers Lake business park.

If you need anything for your desktop computer, from a mouse to a monitor, they have it. Warranty is really good even from their website. Price matching and knowledgeable staff.

Haven't built or upgraded since 2012. Needed new CPU, MOBO, CPU cooler and RAM. Got everything I needed here at competitive prices to Amazon and Newegg.ca. I am a prime member and premier member but with Canada Computers being a physical store with friendly staff.it's something this municipality sorely needed.
