If you're near here, for whatever reason, this is a must visit. The gateway to Canada, Pier 21 welcomed so many of the early immigrants to Canada.

I've enjoyed my time here. The staff members are friendly, the 22-min documentary is touching and inspiring, and the view of the water and lighthouse is beautiful. I've spent times reading the stories from people who've made the extremely brave decision to come to Canada, and also the messages from their family and friends. The stories really moved me. I hope everyone and their loved ones get to pursue and live the lives they deserved.

We didn't go to visit the museum we went to do some research on my paternal grandfather. I always thought that he had been born in Canada, but I was wrong. He was born in London, England, and emigrated in 1913 with his mother and sisters. His father came to Canada 2 years earlier. Without the research associate at Pier 21 I would never have learned this.

Went for an event. The museum touches the lives of so many Canadians who came through Pier 21 when arriving in Canada.

A very nice facility. The local information counter was very helpful with free maps and info. We did Turo and drove to Lunenburg. Very nice facility with a lot of history and memorials.

It was so interesting to learn about immigrants to Canada on the very site where hundreds of thousands of them made their first entry into the country, enduring countless hardships to reach this safe haven. The 25 minute film about the immigration experience tugs at the heartstrings.

Great place to go to. A lot of information and things to see. I learned to do my name in Morse code and was given a certificate.

It was very well done and enlightening to see and now know how the thousands of immigrants were accepted in Canada. Worth everyone's time to visit.

Museum dedicated to immigrants who arrived in Canada from the early 1900s to 1950s. Lots of history, personal stories of immigrants who landed in Halifax from Europe. There is a 30 minute guided tour. Our guide was Annemarie (I think that was her name) and she was AMAZING! It's easy to spend 2-3 hours here. Lots of personal items from immigrants on display, as well their stories and the challenges they faced enroute and upon/ after arrival. Highly recommend it. Easy walk from downtown and a very pretty walk at that by the waterfront. No wait for tickets (was there on a long weekend Sunday), if you are a family, might be better to buy the family ticket for $35.50. Must visit!

The presentations and displays at the Immigration Museum were extremely informative and quite emotional. The Halifax government has clearly made an attempt to provide accurate and interesting information regarding the immigration process here in this part of cCanada.

Newer harbor area, very well created. It was fun that the souvenir shops were already open when we got back on the ship at 8 p.m

I've been proactively trying to learn a little more about Canadian history in the past few years, so I felt this was well worth it, but I actually think it's also just as interesting for all Canadians to learn the role that Canada played in early immigration.
I was also glad to see that there were mentions of areas where we failed as a country in the past. I think it's equally as important to show where we failed so we can learn from our mistakes instead of trying to cover them up.

Well presented information on the importance of immigration to the development of Canada and how it has come to be the multicultural country it is now. Also addressees the racist problems encountered by many newcomers.

Informative and novel exhibits. Loved the movie almost for teary eyed. Enjoyed the free tours and review of canadian history formed with immigration. Wish we had more time.

Such a unique place for so many whose families saw Pier 21 as their first view of Canada. The staff at the resource center were able to find my father's landing card from 1923 after only 5-10 min. They are unbelievable.
