This course must be made of sugar. Can’t handle any rain. Wasted our time and money driving all the way over there from Cabot (which was unreal and worth every penny) to stay in the run down over priced keltic lodge. Wake up to a perfect morning of 3km winds and 15 degrees and sun. The course calls me 30 min before our tee time to tell us it’s closed because it rained the day before. What a joke we should have stayed in Cabot longer. We went over to the course to take a look and the tee decks we could see looked like a $40 pitch and putt quality. Now that golfnorth owns it, it will continue its slide downhill. Don’t waste your time driving over there for this place just go directly to Cabot. They are the same price anyways.

Good to experience the unique layout once, overpriced ($200+ with cart) for the conditions which can be described as a mud pit with multiple flooded holes. Not worth the added time and cost to travel out past Cabot. Time would be better spent with additional day at cabot unless it was possible to verify the course is in exceptional condition in advance.

My wife and I looked forward to playing Cape Breton Highland Links and we’re very disappointed. There were no scorecards available and we had to get someone to open the starter hut to get one for us. Pro Shop staff seemed content to chat with each other rather than help customers. No power carts available even though we had booked one. We had to wait for other groups to finish, throw all the empty liquor and beer bottles out ourselves before we went to the first tee. No starter was present on the first tee. This course is a gem, that appears to be very neglected. Such a shame for a course in a National Park. I played Banff National earlier this year and had a wonderful customer service and golf experience.

The course is in a spectacular spot and the staff are very friendly. Sadly the course seems neglected, it is a wonderful course to play but it appears that current management is not so concerned with maintaining the high standard Stanley Thompson set for his golf courses in Canada.

Is this course charming? Yes it is. Unfortunately that’s all it has going for it. Horrendous sand maintenance and the bunkers are full of rocks. Don’t use the warm up nets, as your ball will break through the net and you’ll lose it in the fescue. Tons of blind shots and the fairways are hysterically bumpy and hilly. Pipe one down the middle and end up with a ball 7” below your feet. For some reason every tee box is a 6/10 for playing quality but the 11th tee box appears to be a putting surface? It’s what I imagine the tee boxes at Augusta are like; so cool but so strange.

All in all this golf course has nostalgia on its side, with a few very pretty 3’s and one that is as challenging as it is beautiful. Sadly, it ends there. My Saturday morning round cost me $212 after taxes and a cart, and I honestly don’t think I’d play this course for $75.

Hey guys. Wake up. Do you really think that this golf course is worth $150.00. That’s why there’s a lot of starting times available at any time.
I know, it’s your business and you can charge what ever you want. But at the end, us the golfers are the ones who decides and it seem, s that I am not the only one thinking that you really exagerate charging that much.

Awesome course & well complimented by superior staff in pro shop & starter. Alex was incredible, a tribute to the company. Course lived up to its #5 ranking. Thanks

Beautiful, bucket list course. Friendly, helpful staff. Restaurant had terrific food and views. Front nine was pretty darn soggy, and the need to keep carts on-paths 'dampened' our enthusiasm somewhat.

My friends liked the course, but this mostly parkland links was too tough for me. Death on either side of most fairways was more than a test I am up for

They cancelled my tee time only 4hours before. No explanations. Worst! 1 star is too much.

An amazing golf course! My Father and I played the course a few years back. My fondest golf memory when it comes to playing with my Dad!

I played this course twice the last 2 days. Going into it the first day expecting the 8th best course and Canada (according to score golf) I was extremely let down. The views are superb. Conditions not so much. The bunkers aren’t good, fairways are long and there seems to be a lot of ground under repair. One thing I was impressed by were the greens, which rolled true and quick. The second day was much more enjoyable. I appreciated the views and expected the conditions we had seen the day prior and it was a fun time. One thing we had learned from the starter is that they were very short on staff which made me less frustrated with the conditions. But then lower your prices accordingly. Overall I was very disappointed with the course considering we booked the Keltic Lodge to play it, but I guess it wasn’t THAT bad.

Golfed three days and stayed at Ingonish Chalets. Chalets were fantastic. The golf was the best the Highlands has played in the last bunch of years. Greens were fast, and lies were tough! Fairways were in great condition as well.

Have to say did not live up to expectations. Payed 386$ for wife and I to play. Greens were very rough and views were not what we thought. Very nice people though. Golf north simply does not maintain courses well and for 180 each you should have great conditions. Does not hold a candle to Humber valley in Nfld (115$ each) crowbush cove or brudenelle on pei $120 each. I guess Cabot links and Cabot cliffs at over 400$ all this one to jack price up. Would not make my top 50 courses played. If you do play play Sunday after 1: 30 for 165 for 2 people with cart but bring a flashlight

Feb 2023- just checked their website and golf north’s head agronomist admits that many ratings are in regard to conditions but does not state what they are doing about it. Makes references that their bunkers and hazards are not “pseudo hazards”. What ever that means. Condition remarks have gone on for years. Clearly golfnorth has no plan or care about this course. Too bad because it is a great layout.
