J'adore cet endroit. Tellement beau à voir en voiture et plein de belles randonnées à faire.
05 October 2023 13:03
What an amazing place to get away from it all. Incredible scenery, great local coffee shops and food. Nice little shops throughout. You just won’t be disappointed. Enjoy.

Cape Breton is one of the best places you must see in NS Canada. The scenery there are so beautiful and amazing.
Skyline trail was the best trail you will ever seen at cape Breton!
23 September 2023 23:18
You have to go on a sunny day, the scenery of Cape Breton without blue sky will be reduced in half.
14 August 2023 14:48
It’s a good scene route. I did clockwise drive & enjoyed it. Definitely worth the drive. Lots of hiking options and trails. Good for someone who like hiking and trails, definitely need few days to explore & bring mosquitoes and find accommodation near by park. Make sure your Gas tank is full, sometime cape Breton is out of gas.i

What an incredible experience to hike through the park. The weather can change in a heartbeat. The wind can whip up at any time. A rough place. But the views and the hiking was excellent
06 November 2022 14:33
One of a kind. Must see in lifetime. A big check off my must-go checklist. I cried during driving in the park. Many thanks to the great mother nature. I used to think Banff was the best in Canada, now I doubt myself.
01 November 2022 12:59
Be prepared it's a 1 hour walk from your parking. The kids on the trail were struggling. So if you have little kids maybe think twice.
The views of the look out (1 hr later) were great. It takes 5- 10 minutes to complete the" actual" steps
26 October 2022 14:05
We drove what we could of the Cabot Trail loop while on a cruise stop in Sydney. NS and it was beautiful! Just to get to the start of the loop took at least 1.5 hours so we didn't get near as far as we hoped. There are so many places to stop and take pictures or hike a trail to a lake or waterfall or lookout. We definitely want to come back on a vacation in this area to continue our adventure! We visited in mid September and the weather was nice and cooler but if you want to see leaves turning you will have to come much later in the season. Only saw a couple of "tips" of branches with any fall color. It is around $8-9 for a park pass for adults. Worth it.
20 October 2022 5:26
The park is much larger then I had previously imagined. The views were breathtaking, a must see if you are traveling to Cape Breton!
04 October 2022 15:08
Il ne faut pas oublier de laisser votre ticket sur le tableau bord de votre voiture, les agents font fréquemment le tour des stationnements.
04 October 2022 5:18
298kms scenic drive in Cabot trail + multiple hiking trails at this park. You would need a minimum of 3 days to enjoy this part of Nova Scotia to the fullest.
30 September 2022 13:22
Stunning views. Did the entire loop with a stop at Skyline Trail. Lots of driving, but totally worth it for the views. Smooth drive, just a number of twists and turns on one side.
29 September 2022 1:32
The Cape Brenton area and Cabot Trail is amazing. The pull off points are perfectly placed to give you the best views of this grand space. Be prepared to be overwhelmed by the beauty of nature. Be prepared to go up steep inclines and down grades.

We drove 2000kms from Ontario to visit the Cabot Trail and it was well worth it!
An unforgettable natural wonder. If you intend to drive the trail, make sure your vehicle is up to the challenge.the grades are very steep and the corners are very sharp.
25 August 2022 10:31
This is the best experience. Many of different trails but the Skyline trail is the best. It seems like you are in heaven
24 August 2022 5:47
Great park. Tons of hikes, beaches and beautiful scenery.
Definitely try Corney Brook Campground. The water at Corney Brook is not potable, but Cap Rouge has showers and potable water and is only a minute drive away. The openness of Corney Brook is actually fantastic.
04 January 2022 17:48
No provincial or federal park will get higher than a three star rating from me until they are open year round. No gates up, all roads and parking lots plowed, bathroom and garbage kept up.
01 December 2021 5:17
Beautiful scenic coastal drive right up to Meat Cove. The fall colors make it even more special. Moose, eagles, seals all made it it perfect! Skyline Trail a MUST!
25 November 2021 15:36
Just passing through, can't wait to stop and check things out fully next time. Looks like a nice place to visit.
06 November 2021 22:45
Not sure why anyone would recommend this park. Perhaps we missed better sites but we didn't see any. Paid an arm and a leg for firewood and didn't even want to leave the camper. The picture showed us a wooded spot but not only were we in a parking lot but our picnic table was right beside the next camper's sewage and our fire pit right under their window. We didn't utilize either but our neighbours didn't seem to mind the arrangement. We tried not to flush the toilet while they ate.
28 October 2021 20:04
Beautiful drive with a lot of hiking trails to see the scenery, wildlife and ocean views. Leave nothing but footprints, take nothing but pictures ️
08 October 2021 1:19
Amazing, it’s worth visiting this place. So many hiking trails, cycling, mountains. Million dollar views. $7 for an adult to enter national park and have fun hiking, camping…….
01 October 2021 14:20
Easy hike from the parking lot except the last section where there are many steps. The sight at the last section is beautiful, so do not miss it. Be prepared to take many picture along the steps.
26 September 2021 22:07
My favorite vacation spot in maritime at all time! Only been there three time yet everytime we find something new and touching. Very well developed and perfect for a long weekend get away. Yes it's the most attractive in the fall.but it's beautiful at all time. Yes All time! Even raining day.
19 August 2021 7:04
Hiking camping, glamping, swimming, golfing, whale watching, zip line, waterfalls and the best views in the world! Highly recommend for vacation!
14 August 2021 11:10
There are no words or pictures that can describe the vastness and beauty of Cape Breton. It was an amazing trip being able to see this natural beauty
10 August 2021 21:33
I very pretty, but not happy about the hunting in the park! We have been coming here for 32 years some time s up to 7 trips a year and the last couple of trips no moose! Before we would see all kinds but since the hunt none! And we make usually we make3 to 4 round trips in a day from cheticamp to pleasant Bay. This is sad and parks Canada is to blame!
03 August 2021 16:42
World class natural beauty.breathtaking, pulse pounding views, great beaches (huge shock at Ingonish beach though.what happened to all that gorgeous sand.wow so many rocks). Still always an amazing drive.
08 July 2021 5:29
Woww! Tellement magnifique!
Les sentiers du Cabot trail étais facile à pratiquer.
Pour ma par j'ai un garçon de 2ans et j'ai quand même opté pour le portage, même si le sentier étais très beau, je savais que nous ferions les rebelle pour voir la vue.
21 June 2021 2:44
This is a stunning place to visit in the summer or during the Celtic Colours festival in the fall. Great camping everywhere, friendly people and stunning views. A jewel in Canada
30 January 2021 0:44
BRETT who worked in the ingonish part of the park this summer was AMAZING! He helped us and gave us maps and places to look out on the Cabot Trail. GREAT GUY!
25 December 2018 7:39
The land of my heart, Cape Breton! I was born and raised here but live in Toronto. You will never visit a place more beautiful, with the friendliest people on earth. I hope I can move back here some day. I highly recommend that you visit Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada. There are many historic sites and most anyone will sit down with you to share a story or a joke.
19 December 2018 2:05
Breath taken views around the Cabot trail.awesome camp sites and of course the beautiful beaches.and I have to add the friendly people who run their stores and restaurants
24 November 2018 3:46
Absolutely incredible place, a real gem. Ocean views, especially on the Western side are incredible, beautiful, unique, and rugged terrain inland up to and beyond the treeline. Some of the most interesting hiking trails I've ever been on. Really great viewpoints along the Cabot Trail.

A technical and challenging drive, not for the inexperienced driver and leave yourself enough time to arrive at your destination before dark.
14 November 2018 9:23
Beautiful drive through the Cabot trail. The side going up form Inverness is better than the other side. If you go up clockwise, you can skip the downward leg on the other side. You can do both up and down the Inverness side. The initial miles are not as exciting as it passes through a lot of population and wilderness starts later. The road to meat cove is half paved but easy drive. There is only one cafe at meat cove and it’s a good 30 minutes drive from the trail. Coming down Inverness side gives a better view as driving is on the side of the views. The drive is similar to the Scotland northern 500 (including Inverness which is in Scotland) but the difference is the forests and wilderness (Scotland is more remote, less trees and population). Another difference: Scottish Drive is much more fun with single road, loops and bends. Overall great experience. Can be very busy in summer with cyclists.
13 November 2018 2:09
In a brief afternoon visit, we saw three bald eagles, two moose, and innumerable squirrels, and other small animals. The Bog trail is a short, but wonderful one, don't miss it!
10 November 2018 20:57
I completely fell in love with the park. I was there for the long weekend in October (Canadian thanks giving) and the colours were breathtaking. The Skyline trail while the sun sets is a exciting way to end the day. Mica Hill is not super popular, but what you get to see at the top is gorgeous (the whole hike is awesome too), the view from Franey trail top is worth the climb (I suggest you take the left from the parking lot and come back that way too, there is nothing to see from the path to the right), Middle Head was too crowed for my taste but it's a nice enjoyable walk. If you like-love hiking, it is a wonderful destination.
Also, just riding the Cabot Trail with all those colours was perfect. There are LOTS of place to stop and take pictures of the gorgeous place!
06 November 2018 22:31
Scenery on the Cabot Trail is stunning. Only issue was the road construction which seemed to be often. I heard from a local that in the next couple of years there would be extensive road work. Many gravel trucks in hurry. I guess this is the price of increased tourism not just here but world wide, to great tourist destinations. Be careful, especially if you are riding a motorcycle on the gravel roads. Enjoy the ride.
02 November 2018 14:23
The views are spectacular from every view point on the Cabot Trail. We have walked several trails in our two visits a year apart. We even got to see a momma bear with her two babies as we had to stop on the road in the park so they could continue their journey across the road.
31 October 2018 9:01
Absolutely beautiful. Words and pictures can not do it justice. Some of the most breathtaking views I have every seen. Going in the fall is amazing but chilly. The colors were so vivid and contrasting. The mountains and the ocean made for such a peaceful atmosphere.
27 October 2018 21:36
Food is excellent, views equally so. We were in room 701, right next to the front doors, and they slam every time someone entered or exited the building. Very annoying when you're trying to sleep. When we checked out, the clerk was not very understanding and did not offer a discount until asked by us, and offered no apology whatsoever. The experience may have been completely different had we been in a different room, but the clerk's attitude and lack of understanding left a sour taste.
23 October 2018 11:00
We made a good crack at walking most of the longer walks over the 3 days we were there. As a seasoned walker i found the skyline a bit disappointing after the hype everyone including the staff were giving it. Despite being out of season and turning up at 5pm, it was still a motorway with a sea of selfie sticks at the lookout, i can imagine it's horrible in peak season! If you like your walking, we enjoyed the other longer more remote walks far more: l'Arcadian and freney come to mind. Plus they seemed much, much quieter, only one or two people the whole way round. Walking just before dusk turned out to be a good way to spot wildlife, but probably not ideal on your own if you have a nervous disposition!
19 October 2018 7:31
A "have to" visit part of Canada. One piece of advice. Double the time you were planning to spend in this part of your vacation. There are too many places to see and experience.
18 October 2018 23:47
- 8 Std. Tagestouren.
18 October 2018 1:48
Beautiful! Some fabulous walking trails! You have to do the Skyline Trail. Wildlife, views and you can take a circular route on part so you don't see the same things on the way back.
14 October 2018 18:11
Really fun place. I loved the skyline walk. It was relaxing. Grab your walk g stick and a bottle of water and off you go. Really worth the trip and walk to see the view.
12 October 2018 19:36
Been up on the Cape Breton Highlands many times. Beautiful is the only way to describe the park. Breathtaking views, great opportunity for photoghiking, plant and wildlife abound.
09 October 2018 22:45
The Highlands are absolutely stunning. As we were on the Cabot trail through the summer, everything was lush, various shades of green, and the weather was gorgeous. Throughout the trail and area, there are a plethora of lookouts and picturesque spots which are perfect for enjoying the landscape. The topography also changes quite a bit as you drive around Cape Breton, from ocean fronts and coast, to rolling green hills and cliffs. This area is breathtaking to say the least.
07 October 2018 2:27
This is the #1 national park in Canada! Far to underfunded to ever give the proper experience to this epic landscape. If you are not from Cape Breton this is the #1 reason to visit.
05 October 2018 14:24
I think I died. And then found myself in heaven. I am not capable of describing the beauty and the ruggedness of the Cape Breton coast. I can say that very soon after we started exploring, we both agreed we needed to return for a much longer stay. Everywhere we looked we saw raw beauty. This should be a must on every travellers list. But I hope it isn't, simply because I don't want the crowds to spoil it. I want it to stay just the way it is. I can't imagine the sheer joy of hiking the region! If you take this trip, plan at least a week, preferably two. You will not be bored.
04 October 2018 3:49
Lots of things to do. You have to purchase admission for the trails and other parks but it is only $7.50 per person and that gives you access to everything. Would recommend!
20 September 2018 22:43
This is a spectacular Park. I've been here less than 24 hrs and I've seen 4 Moose, 2 Bear Cubs and numerous other smaller animals. Currently hiking the Skyline Trail which is breathe taking. I'm using the Cheticamp Campground and it is very nice with good sites for tenting, very nice washrooms, and easily accessible other necessities. The park is also encompasses most if the famous Cabot Trail. Definitely give this Park a try.
13 September 2018 22:41
The incredible natural beauty of the Cabot Trail on Cape Breton must be seen to be fully appreciated. Superb seafood at every stop served up with a huge helping of Canadian hospitality makes it all that much better.
