Main trail is 10km rugged. Estimated time 4 hours. This trail is well marked.
There is a shorter trail that is leading to a lookoff close to the parking lot. It was not accessible. Thus, 1 star rating. Don't waste your time going here unless you intend to do the 4 hours trail.

This was the view from the Gondola and although $50 we found was a bit steep it was beautiful

Sadly, this COULD be an epic view. Unfortunately, the overgrowth is ridiculous. Oh, Canada…you can do better!

Cape Smokey Trail is a hiking trail located in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada. It offers many look-offs and a very enjoyable hike. The trail goes through a white birch forest, remnants of burnt forest, and eventually leads you over the top of Smokey mountain itself. The final view at the end of Middle Head and the Keltic Lodge
