Chain Yard Urban Cidery

Probably some of the worst food I ever had in a restaurant anywhere at anytime. Burnt fried chicken, goopy jambalaya, fries that were cooked so may times there was no potato left inside, and terrible service. Avoid this place at all costs.

Their ciders are quite tasty and more varied than I expected. I also liked the view of the canning process right when you walk in, very cool to see behind the scenes. However, the oysters were not great - sauces were nice but the oysters were small and lacking in flavour. There was also a slight issue with the preparation, as there were some shell shards that got into our mouths - nothing dangerous but unpleasant nonetheless. Grab some cider and skip the oysters.

Great nachos. Delicious flavours. A little more layering would be nice, but tasty.

Another great addition to the North end of Halifax. Some great ciders from Nova Scotia apples. Fun atmosphere.

Nice place for a late night drink and snacks.
The server was very pleasant and made sure everyone was well taken care of.

The best location for cider in the entire of Nova Scotia do yourself a favor and try anything there!

Great spot with so many cider options. It was hard to choose just one! Their food was delicious! A little on the pricey side. I was going into it thinking it was pub prices but the portions were pretty big. I wished they had more photos of their food to help me decide… so hopefully I can help you:)

The Jambalaya was SUPER good. Had a flight of ciders, then it was randomly bingo night (Wednesdays at 7pm, I guess?), so we played free bingo for a couple of hours!

Really gorgeous atmosphere, friendly service, quality ciders. The rustic and friendly hip cidery offer a taste of diversity in the north end. Unapologetic about what's in the glass that's what you get, buy the guest cider selection is something to be hold. Service how ever just need to explain the things and talk more about the product. As trendy resturants pop up, engagement is key. Still *****

We had several appetizers but the one in the picture was my favorite “ UK Seasoned Frites w Dill Pickle Aioli” it was to die for! Cider in the picture was also amazing (can’t remember the name but had blueberry or raspberry in it I think) Can’t wait to go again!

The chicken and jambalaya was awesome, and the portion was good too. The atmosphere could've been better, but it's good for a quick lunch. In and out in exactly an hour.

The food here is incredible - the appetizers (yes all of them), the fries, the chicken, the jambalaya.all amazing and delicious. The cider is pretty tasty too, if that's your thing - if not there are a variety of other local and standard beverages on the menu. Expect a moderate but not unmanageable noise level (it's always busy here), and if you're not sure what to order, you can trust the advice of the knowledgeable, friendly staff.

Great ciders, especially the specials. Lack of seating and mediocre overpriced food keeps the rating from being a solid four.
