The Cheeky Neighbour is an amazing little Culinary Gem, and Chef Michael Bradley's spectacular, yet very affordable menu simply bursts with flavours, and plenty on your plate.
I'm from PEI, but can't wait to go back.
PS, the Chicken Kale Cesar Salad I ordered, also supplied me with another two meals at home.

We went for brunch last weekend and this might be my new favourite brunch spot. Their menu looks awesome for lunch too but we wanted breakfast food so we each ordered the big breakfast plate with poached eggs and a side of hollandaise since I was super hungry but was also craving the Benny I saw someone order while I was standing in line for a table. It was sooo busy but we only waited about 10 minutes to be seated and ended up with a cute little nook at the back of the restaurant. Great vibe in this place and the service was exceptional. The food was phenomenal. Everything was absolutely perfect and I was actually full when I left which I find it difficult to find places that’ll provide enough food within one dish so I don’t have to order multiple sides. I’m stoked to return to this place and maybe give their burger a try. I bet it’s delicious!

Literally the BEST breakfast we had during our trip to Halifax. Absolutely delicious. Portions are well sized and fairly priced. Food is phenomenal.

Hands down the best breakfast/brunch in Halifax. Cheeky reminds me so much of the fresh delicious food I used to have in San Diego. The service is amazing and the atmosphere is easy going and relaxing. My favourite place to eat in Halifax.

Absolutely did not disappoint the food was delish. We had the bibim-not and hot honey chicken sandwich. Will definitely be going back!

Easily 5 stars all around. This place has the best staff and the BEST food. My partner and I are visiting Halifax from out of town and we love this place so much, we came two days in a row and ordered different things just so we could try more from the menu!

We tried the smoked salmon on potato waffles, chicken and waffles, the “big cheeky” and the Bibim-not and they were all DELICIOUS.

Service staff was so friendly, so quick, and accommodating.

If you’re looking for great food, great service, and a great atmosphere, this is the place for you!

I’m not usually one for sit-down breakfast joints, but I’m so happy my partner begged me one morning to go.
One of the best breakfasts I’ve had, and the food came super quick and piping hot.
Coffee is only drip, but it’s very strong and gives you a kick for the morning.

Lots of young folk around, so you know it’s really tasty! Highly recommend!

P. S. I’d suggest going earlier than later if it’s a weekend as it’s fairly popular and you might have to wait awhile for a table

My experience here was okay. There are incredibly long wait times so be mindful of that, and the coffee I found very bitter. Some of the staff appeared to be overworked. However, the food was really good and there were nice vegetarian options. I also liked the diner ambience, and the waiters were friendly and professional.

It was a little wait to get a seat but totally worth the wait! The hash browns are to die for! They also have really good coffee too!

While the service was super friendly and the music is slamming, it was a little slow. The vibes are great, up-beat and decently high energy. The main reason for the low review is the food quality. I got the veggie Benji, and while sourdough is appreciated, only 1 piece of toast came with it as well as the hollandaise tasted like it comes out of a tube or mixed heavily with mayonnaise. Either way, the hollandaise isn't what you want it to be, not buttery at all. My friend got a side a bacon that obviously wasn't microwaved but still tasted like it. Overall, might come again as you can get a beer with you breakfast, an amazing touch, but will probably get something different next time.

The Cheeky Neighbour Diner is definitely one of our absolute favourite brunch spots Their specialty french toast is always a treat and is typically what we recommend for first timers. Everything we have had on their menu has been delicious The atmosphere is chill but still upbeat and the service is untouchable.

I'd give here a 3.5 overall based on my first three visits. It's a cute cafe/diner with lots of natural light coming in, seating for maybe 30? Long and narrow in layout with the kitchen semi-visible, a couple of cozy tables in the back which are in their own little nooks. Decent bathrooms, which at least one has an entire wall of Campbell Soup wallpaper. Outside are a few free parking spaces in the lane between Cheeky and the Atlantica Hotel, the same spaces that were there for the previous Relish Burger & Blockbuster in this location. Friendly staff. Breakfast on an overcast winter Saturday at 9am was perfect for me, as I was the only customer that early. The Breakfast Skillet (12.49 house hash, cheese, tomato, onion, kale, sunny side eggs, chives, hollandaise, chipotle aioli with bacon added for 2.49) was giant. I honestly could get three full meals out of this, so after forcing about half of it down, I could barely walk to the car. Delicious. For lunch one day with a friend, we tried the Greasy Spoon burger (8.49 local beef, american cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, red onion, cheeky sauce) and the Modern Diner burger (9.99 local beef, old white cheddar, Brothers bacon, lettuce, tomato, pickles, red onion Cheeky sauce). Both we enjoyed on their sesame seed buns, juicy, tasted exactly as described, not too big, not too small. The shoestring fries are quite salty, but good. The side of red cabbage cole slaw is ok. Another lunch with the same friend, I had the Lime Chicken & Guacamole Club (8.99 chili lime marinated chicken breast, Brothers bacon, guac, jalapeno lime aioli, tomato, lettuce) which tasted exactly like that, and was very filling. For lunch I didn't need to add fries for 3.49, but did. The friend's 1pc Fish & Chips (10.49 Garrison beer battered haddock) was quite standard he said. To me, the piece looked a bit small, but his main comment was that it didn't taste as fresh as he's used to, not that it was terrible. Fries upgraded to poutine was decent. 4th visit: another Saturday morning by myself, early enough to be the second table I think. The veggie benji (benny) hit the spot where I was full, but not dying like after the skillet. (sourdough roll, avocado, tomato, poached eggs, hollandise, cilantro) tasted exactly like that, with the same yummy hash. I look forward to trying the breakfast burrito next. 5th visit: The weekend of Mar 7 had a special that I had seen the day before on their Instagram - pancakes done up to look like the Simpson's donut! So pretty and fun! And it actually tasted good, where I could taste condensed milk in the icing so it was sweet, but not too sweet. Felt a bit like hell afterwards, but that's to be expected when you are basically having what is the same as an entire cake as a meal. LOL Staff are always friendly. This was the first time that I had arrived after 10am on a Saturday and I got the last table available without a wait. There was a line up people after me almost immediately though.

Dec 2022: the After Eight French toast special was delicious.almost like eating deep fried cheesecake!

Came here because any place with a daily French Toast special has to be good It didn't disappoint.

Cozy and stomach comforting breakfast joint. I had the Smoked Salmon on tater tot waffle which was fantastic. Others had the skillets and waffles which they raved about. Server was super friendly and attentive to our family.

The food was very tasty and the eggs were perfectly poached (not an easy thing to do), the staff were super friendly and the portions are generous. Would definitely recommend for a decent, inexpensive, breakfast.

Would have loved to try the food as it sounds great but since they refused my takeout order I'm unable to find out how it is. As a disabled person who can't sit in at a restaurant I find this very disappointing.

Stopped for breakfast and placed in the back out of site. Waited 45 mins for breakfast, could have been longer if not for going to ask where breakie was, and it wasn't exactly what was ordered. Had to ask for more coffee. Someone came to remove our dirty dishes and dropped napkins and 3 pieces of toast on floor and left it till they came back with the bill. Not a place I go to twice.

Stopped by this cute little diner this morning. Breakfast was wonderful. I tried the smoked salmon benji and dh had the sausage benji. Our waitress was very friendly and welcoming.

Really great atmosphere and I loved the service. Finally found a solid breakfast joint in Halifax and I will definitely come back. Left feeling satisfied and ready for the day!

Very, very tasty! Ordered the huevos (saucy with lots of strong fla ours), pulled pork benny (saucy hollandaise with meaty pulled pork), and chicken and waffles (sweet tasting with very healthy chicken portions). Home fries were so crunch-a-licious! My huevos plate was a mish mash of delicious flavors at the end. Everyone loved the food!

We also arrived just before a morning rush. We got seated immediately, but there was a line out the door when we left. I know why people would like up for this place!

The food was absolutely stunning and the service was very nice. Although it was about a 20 min wait for 3 plates of food. The prices were also great with a big plate of eggs, bacon, potatoes, and toasts were About: 17$~ per dish.

So so good, I had a breakfast skillet and coffee and both were delicious! Can’t recommend it enough! Be warned though, there was a lineup out the door when I went on a Saturday

This place is a must go in Halifax - cute staff and cheeky environment. The food was absolutely on point fresh and hot and well priced. Highly recommend.

Great service. Food came in a timely manner! Was very tasty. As my partner is a vegetarian, we both had no problem with menu selection. Our server was very pleasant and tentative. Only wish there were more merch options. The diner's theme is modern and fresh for the area. Will have brunch there again

Such a cute little diner! Went in on a Saturday morning and there was a bit of a line with larger groups. I went in with one other person and we didn't wait long at all. I got the chicken and waffles and they were amazing!

Went in Sunday morning without a reservation with a party on three, the eatery was packed full but we were seated within fifteen minutes of arrive.

Cannot understate how phenomenal the food was! Tables were turning quickly, all guests seemed happy. Our server whose name I did not catch was just the most adorable person ever. There was a sign at the door stating the venue was understaffed for the Sunday rush but I still felt as though everything was being accomplished in a reasonable timeline.

Very much recommend the chicken and waffles, the sweet and savory was delightful. We also had the French Toast special and the vegetarian eggs Benedict. None of us finished our portions. Come here to fill up, for sure. Highly recommend the coffee here as well, it was earthly and bitter but not overly acidic; our server mentioned it was local Anchored Blackhawk Brew, might look to pick up a bag ourselves before heading home.

Great locally sourced food, convenient location, tremendous employees who were positive, punctual and happy to have us. Will definitely come back when we visit Halifax again.

This diner has made my regular rotation after my first time here. The food was fantastic and well priced for the portion sizes.

If you wanna feel like you exist but don't matter while you eat amazing food, come here.

3 tables were empty and staff didn't even approach the door to greet us for 10 mins. We then waited quite a while for someone to take our order. The same happened to everyone coming in the door, at one point ppl stood there for 15 before being approached.

Staff weren't rude but weren't friendly. Cutlery was dropped on table and walked away. Didn't say you're welcome each time we said thank you.

The nicest they were was when we were leaving. I wish there were separate ratings for food and service, I feel I have no choice but to rate this place low despite the food being incredible. Kudos to kitchen staff only.

We ordered the Cheeky Classic, Chicken & Waffles, and Salmon Benji and oh my gosh - delicious! Their hash is the most delicious I’ve ever had. The waiter was great and food was prepared in a timely manner. Would definitely eat here again.

It's definitely worth waiting in line to eat here. My only complaint is that my order of chocolate milk was a small carton of milk you get with school lunches. It seemed really out of place.

First time here last week, friendly and bright spot with delicious meals-did breakfast and the hash browns were super tasty. Definitely recommend.

This place is so cozy and has that little diner feel everyone loves. I had the chicken and waffles and it was awesome. I'd highly recommend ordering it yourself.

This was our second time here for brunch/lunch (because the first time was so delicious) and very happy to say that it was equally as delicious the second time around.
There was 4 of us and we all loved our meals. My brother even texted me later in the day to say how good it was! He had the chicken and waffles which came highly recommended. I had the fried chicken po'boy sandwich with a kale Caesar salad. The kale Caesar is SO GOOD. Also, that sandwich was amazing. Definitely understand why this place is so busy and highly rated.
I can't wait to come back for more!

Cheeky Neighbour is our favorite brunch place. We love the portion size of the orders and they even have a kid's menu. The food is abso-bloody-lutely delicious! My husband and I decided that we will be coming back to try everything on the menu, each visit a different order of course. The only reason why Cheeky Neighbour is a 4 and not a 5 is because of the wait time to get seated and the wait time to get the food, as well as the parking. We do hope they will expand. Maybe become my cheeky neighbour in Dartmouth perhaps? Pun intended If you are visiting Halifax, do not miss this tiny joint in the heart of Quinpool Road. You will not regret lining up!

They would get 5 stars if the service was a bit more attentive. Very difficult to get more coffee, cream, jam, etc.

Problem solved if they would stock up tables and leave a coffee craft.

Fantastic. I had the chicken and waffles while my fiance had chorizo eggs benji. Both were delicious, portion sizes were spot on and the service was great. We will definitely eat here again.

Chicken and waffles were delish and my mom said her smoked salmon and potato waffles were really good too.

The breakfasts here are incredible. Salmon benji, and big cheeky are my two favourites. The potatoes that come with breakfast are delicious and portions are very generous. Avocado and tomato with breakfast is a nice touch, and the prices are incredible for what you get. You can count on everything on the plate being perfect. The bacon and sausage are great. The chicken burger and banh mi burger are both delicious also.

Brilliant spot with fantastic food & service. We got chicken & waffled and the kids breakfast and both were out of this world. Prices are absolutely reasonable and all covid protocols were followed. We will be back again soon!

One of my favourite brunch restaurants in Halifax. Sometimes you may end up with long waits on the weekends but it is totally worth it. The staff are always very friendly and the food is always delicious. Here I had smoked salmon on top of potato waffles, it was a bit different but still enjoyable. This place also has great vegetarian options as well.
