Excellent service, very helpful and friendly staff. The food is fresh and tasty, lots of options for the AYCE menu. It’s expensive ($39 per person) but you have a two hour limit so lots of time to get your money’s worth. Especially worth it for special occasions.

Man, this place always kills it when it comes to dining. Went for the all-you-can-eat deal and it did not disappoint. The meat was straight up fire and the flavors were off the charts. I may have gone a little overboard, but it was totally worth it!

Always good! I love this place, I think it’s quite affordable and the meat quality it’s good, it has a great ambiance at night, just be sure to follow the rules they have!

This place is like a DIY restaurant where you can cook your own food! They have a set menu and you have a limited amount of time to eat. They have a lot of different meat options to cook, and you can also choose from some pre-cooked food and salads.

Really friendly staff that went out of their way even though the place was very busy. The food was super tasty too!

Service was good. The server was pretty efficient. He was working by himself during dinner hours so lots of multitasking. He was accommodating.
Food was extremely mediocre, the quality is definitely below all the other ayce Korean bbq places I’ve been. The kalbi was in this weird pink colour after cooked and the texture was not good. At the price point, for 2ppl, you’d be better off going to a regular Korean restaurant and order up a kalbi, a bulgogi, a jeyuk bokkum, then some appetizer or a soup dish; or do their tabletop bbq for 2, the food will be much tastier.
Environment: poor ventilation.
I had high hopes for this place but after this visit, I’m never going back.

Atmosphere at this restaurant was cozy and inviting, making it the perfect place for a romantic dinner or a casual night out with friends. The menu had a great selection of dishes, and food was cooked to perfection.

Amazing food and the staff is very friendly and helpful.the meat was delicious and juicy. We tried the Bulgogi and the prime kalbi. I also loved the kimchi and the cold noodles. Definitely going there again

I've been here several times now, and each time has re-confirmed that this is one of the best Korean BBQ in Halifax.

If you love the sizzle of meat on a hot grill or having those nice char lines on your grilled meat, then DON’T come here. The grill is medium heat at best and you aren’t allowed to touch the temperature of the grill (unless you want to pay a fine of $200) so it takes a VERY LONG TIME to get your meat cooked. I asked if they could turn it up and the said they can’t have the room get smokey— for a bbq place that seems like poor planning, they need better ventilation. However, their sides, mini bibimbap, spicy rice cakes, corn and cheese, sweet soy beef short ribs, spicy pork belly are delicious. The pumpkin or squash soup is too sweet, the other beef dishes are not great and the seaweed rice is rice with mayo and seaweed They will probably confuse items in your order and forget to bring you things BUT the staff are very friendly. Plus you get a Melona bar at the end. The exterior of the place is sketchy but the inside is decent. I’m just going to say, this place isn’t for me— I’d pay for a la cart for better quality meat, hotter grills, and better ventilation.

Best Korean bbq restaurant I have ever had so far in Canada. I lived in Ontario for 10 years and have been to a lot of Korean restaurants. Cheelin is the only one that provides both high quality food and high level of service. The staffs are really friendly. They explain the menu to me and answer my questions with patience. They have been taking care all the customers, collecting empty plates, replace the bbq paper, asking my feelings etc, even the restaurant was super busy. Food was delicious and incredible, meat are marinated very well, everything is in small portion. Remember to make a reservation if you want to have dinner here. It was really busy in the evening.

Fantastic korean bbq place. Well run, efficient, service is amazing too. All of the meats and other dishes are well made, clearly with lots of care. Meats are marinated to perfection and they are tender and flavourful. All the side dishes are good too, especially the kimichi. Overall all, a fantastic experience.

You might want to make a reservation for the weekends.

My husband and I ate at Cheelin for the first time and had a great time. The AYCE was solid and the selection of marinated meats and seafood was pretty decent. I love the attentiveness of Andrea who made sure that we have the best dining experience. Excellent Customer service.

Top notch BBQ restaurant. You can feel from all food they served. All meats and seafoods are high quality and fresh. Lower fat than the rest of BBQ restaurants in Halifax. A lot of quality side dishes such as rice cheese ball, cold noodle, Bibimbap. The highlight is, the oily paper was pasted on grilling plate in order to minimize burning parts from grilled meats. It is good for your health. Finally they will serve you the ice cream stick from Korea. This is my new favorite AYCE BBQ restaurant in town.
