This is not a very big place to roam around and see. Gills family used to live here in 18 or 19 th century. They are having few animals like cows, hens and pigs. They are having botanical garden where you can find varieties of plants. One cafeteria at the middle you can buy the products from the cafeteria shop and eat.

Cute tea room and hobby farm near the city. The scones, tea, and soup in the tearoom are good, but there is little selection overall.

Amazing place. What they have managed to maintain through the years is unreal. The staff are always very helpful and friendly. I've heard the food and drink are great, according to friends, but haven't had a chance to try myself, though the tea shop is lovely.

Delicious lunch
Very friendly staff
Nice to see what they used as machinery and how hard of a life they had in years gone by compared to today

This is an absolute gem of a family experience hidden in the middle of sprawling suburbia! The displays and historic buildings are lovely and the sheep and chickens were great fun. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and happy to talk about the site. We'll be back again!

In my opinion the menu for the cream tea is too expensive. Are the scones made with real butter? One scone with jam and cream served with tea should be no more than $5.00, not $8.00's. The high price is keeping me away.

Entry by donation, an easy outing for a family group of all sizes and ages. Poultry, sheep and a few calves were around, lots of placards with local history on display. The garden is pretty and grows food.

Small, charming and locally run, mostly by volunteers. Real animals and a forge that operates occasionally (by volunteer blacksmiths) create a good atmosphere that's enjoyable to spend time in. There is a teahouse that i believe sells drinks and snacks but I've not actually tried it myself as we've always been here for other events like small fiber arts festivals.

Great tour for my grade 1 class! The children loved learning about the past and all of the animals. The guides were excellent. The Tea house is lovely with a homey feeling.

This place is a little Cole Harbour treasure. Beautiful gardens, barn animals, local heritage home and museum along with the most gentile tea room serving Nova Scotia Select status gastronomy. Also has a Wednesday afternoon pop up market.

Fun place to take the grandkids on a weekday morning. Lots of interpretive displays. Not too crowded when we went. Animals are fun to see for kids of all ages from one to a hundred or so. The potty toss game was a huge hit.

Cool little spot hidden in the middle of a city. An inexpensive place to taje ghe family for a few hours without having to go too far. Great to walk through as a couple or with small kids. Older kids (10 and up) will likely be unimpressed. We took a 3 and a 5 year old and they loved seeing the animals and walking through the gardens. As adults we really liked going through the historic buildings. Since this place is a low key hidden spot, you can really take your time. There is a little restaurant and some local jams, etc for sale too. Bathroom on site near the restaurant.
