Commissionaires - Halifax

The commissioners were friendly and professional! We highly recommend anyone to go for their service!

Pathetic experience, I walked in and did greet the lady at the desk, didn't reply back instead asked for the documents.

Then I was in the other rooms with another person, each time i would ask the other in the room a question, the lady at desk would yell the answer, rather than giving the other person in the room a chnace to speak.

The lady at the desk was rude and unprofessional.

My experience today with a commissionaire ar the dockyard gate was a low point to an otherwise superb day of siteseeing on a visit to Halifax and a sentimental flashback to my days serving with the Navy. My approach to the Commissionaire's building, situated in a complex construction zone, was greeted with a a rude insult with a condescending, belittling tone. So little respect coming from a representative of an organization that is supposed to respect veterans

Fast and easy fingerprinting at an affordable price. Infinitely better than going to the Police HQ.

I don't go to the commissionaires. I've never been to the commissionaires. Yes, if I wanted to go to the commissionaires I could probably go out and do that because I'm what? Sickening. You could never go to the commissionaires because you are not that type of girl.

Visited the Truro hospital several times during my mother's stay there where they seem to screen everyone. There's a few of the younger ones who are pleasant, but most of the older ones seem condescending and short tempered. I once visited and seen someone's kid pull a fire alarm and they wanted the police called on the child. Kid did a dumb thing, but I don't think the cops need to be involved.

One of the commissionaires seems to be an old man in his 70's who worked in the ER in the middle of the night, fast asleep in the middle of the waiting room! He got mad when I said I was to see my mother and told me I wasn't allowed up on the unit despite me being called by the unit nurses to come right away. Another security guard (whom I guess works for the actual hospital so that's confusing) helped me out but that old guy just kept being cranky.

Think the company needs to focus on better interaction with people, especially some of these older folks.

I went there to take photos for my passport and it is the cheapest price ($16 taxes in) in the HRM area. All was done in less than 10 min.

I loved being able to make an appointment and not have to wait around upon arrival. It was incredibly convenient, the Commissionair we interacted with was friendly and took the time to understand our needs, and you really can't beat the price for passport photos. It would be great if the services were offered outside of the downtown area, if for nothing else but easier parking options.

Been with this company for just over 5 years. I started as a part-time/casual worker working various positions and pay rates until a full-time spot opened. Managers and supervisors are engaging, empathetic and supportive.
Training is provided mostly onsite at their HQ. Uniforms and PPE are usually readily available upon request. If not, no more then a 2 week wait for appropriate sizing etc.
It didn't take me long to work up to a salary position. If you are willing to put the time and work in, they will invest the same in you.
Experienced or not, highly recommend!

Visited the Truro location today. Sign out front, stated, walk ins welcome. Door to business locked. Knocked on door and female came to door. Told her I was looking for a passport photo. Was told no appointments available until 21 Dec. We left and went up the street to Pridhams Photography. Received my photos in less than 15 minutes. Hard to imagine Commissionaires, could not perform this service (15 minutes). I was a commissionaire for 16 years, what has happened to this organization, we used to serve the public and clients with professionalism and concern for doing the best we could. Are those days gone?

Even during covid times they have safety measures in place. Went in for finger printing for a security background check. Make sure to make an appointment in advance and things should go smoothly.

You have to go inside the building and they are in an inner suite. Enter just beneath the pedway to Scotia square.
