Complete Family Dentistry

My husband and I have been going to this dentist since before it had this name, and have never had anything but positive experiences! My husband has horrible anxiety about the dentist, and he is able to be sedated, and I can sit in with him during his procedures. The ladies at reception are always so kind, the hygienists are wonderful, and our dentist Dr Jakob Nickerson is so incredibly kind and gentle. Our 3 year old also had a wonderful first time at the dentist here!:)

My experience at Complete Family Dental was extremely disappointing. After my filling fell out, I requested a permanent filling but was offered a temporary one instead. When I expressed my concerns about the financial burden that temporary fillings and crowns would cause, the dentist informed me that they didn't have time for a proper filling. He then abruptly left the room, leaving me still in the dental chair. Determined to find a resolution, I got up and asked for assistance from another dentist at the front desk, but my request was denied.
Feeling frustrated and with limited options, I decided to share my encounter online to express my dissatisfaction with their treatment. In response, the practice threatened to revoke our payment plan and send me to collections, fully aware of the financial hardships this would entail.
When I went to pay today and expressed how they threw me out on the day of my grandfather’s funeral and that last friday shortly after making a payment, they called back to tell me that if i did not pay the remainder by Tues they would send me to collections. The office manager showed a complete lack of empathy by callously stating that they didn't care about any of my personal issues and suggesting, once again, that I should have settled for the temporary filling as a solution. People who hurt other people because they can, deserve to be made aware that they are in the wrong!
Such unprofessionalism and a clear lack of sympathy are deeply concerning. Based on my experience, I strongly advise avoiding this dental practice at all costs.

I had a great experience here so far. I chipped my tooth (two weeks before my wedding) and they got me in right away. All the staff are very friendly and I’m so happy with my results! Not to mention they are on time and very efficient. Thank you!

The whole team is fantastic - I needed to get in quickly due to a badly cracked tooth. Everyone was extremely accommodating. This morning, Dr. Jakob Nickerson removed the cracked tooth. I was bracing for a long, painful process. I didn't feel a thing - I can't believe how quickly & proficiently Jake completed the extraction. He ensured all the freezing had properly set in before moving forward with the removal.
Leading up the appointment, Jake made me fully aware of all my options - I was confident going into the appointment this morning that we were doing the right thing.

I have already recommended Complete Family Dentistry and Dr Jakob Nickerson to several people. Couldn't ask for a better dentist!

Love them so much. Can't believe I didn't make a review yet. Super scared of dental work and stressed every time. They were so friendly and careful with my sensitive bite each and every time. Reception is so kind and diligent. Helped prepare me for braces and just got Botox done for TMJ/ clenching. So excited to finally get things the way I wanted and be pain free.

I had the opportunity to job shadow with one of the dentists and not only were the staff kind and professional, but they were very welcoming towards everyone.

Had many great visits with this team untill I spent $8000 on getting a tooth removed and bridge put on. Started with 1 bad tooth and left with that tooth pulled and 2 good teeth shaved down for the bridge and I now have extremely bad sensitivity in those teeth. I went back to dr Crosby to see if there is a reason my teeth hurt more now than before I came to him and I was told my option is to root canal the 2 teeth that he shaved down for the bridge. I came in wanting to be able to chew on left side of my mouth and $8,300 later and I still can’t chew on that side and now can’t even drink water without pain would not recommend getting any major work done.

Being scared of dental procedures, the team was very kind and caring with me. Required a complicated extraction - and to be sedated. I do not remember anything after falling asleep to awaking at home. Great job Dr. Crosby!

Dr. Nickerson is very approachable and understanding. I have a special requirement due to a gag reflex, and he is very understanding toward this.

The entire staff was extremely friendly, professional and accommodating. They did everything in their power to ensure a pleasant visit and I can honestly say I have never in my life felt so comfortable and confident in a dentist's office.

Complete Family Dentistry has very nice facilities and provided really good care. Dr Nickerson went through my x-rays with me and made sure I understood all aspects of my dental health and care. The hygienist did a very thorough job with scraping and cleaning, and explained what she was doing at every stage. I even got a choice of toothpaste and fluoride flavours. I would recommend checking your dental insurance coverage because the services they provide can be pricey.

This was the first time I’ve ever had a positive experience at the dentist. I went in originally for a dental emergency, I had severe tooth pain. Not only did they fix my issue but they made me feel 100% comfortable and didn’t give me the usual lecture I feel like it when I go to a dentist. I had such a good experience I have now made them my full-time dentist and have gone back for a cleaning and a cavity filled both of which good experiences. I would highly recommend them

I had my broken crown (not originally done here) replaced with the final crown in under 3 hours. New technology that laser measures all around the spot where the crown goes and this mills down a square material to my tooth measurements and is baked at 900^ and then cemented into place. A PERFECT FIT. Dr. Nickerson is awesome. He's very personable and lets you know whats coming next and knows about the latest technology. The front staff are very friendly and efficient. The dental assistants are very friendly and knowledgeable. Complely happy experience.

The thought of going to the dentist raises the hackles in most of us. However Complete Family Dentistry in Halifax has gone a long way in alleviating much of the stress and worry when it comes to those needed trips to the dentist.

My appointments have been consistently on time, never late and that is something that is extremely difficult to ensure and maintain especially in these days.
The staff goes above and beyond to accommodate and is particularly efficient with initiating external referrals to specialists.
My experience with my dentist Dr. Atima Kamra has always been superb. She is extremely skilled and takes the extra step to ensure your comfort and address concerns you might have.
She has always been a dedicated and conscientious dentist who follows up personally when referrals are required or a particular procedure has been difficult.
Dr. Carmichael and Dr. Akeemi have both seen me when my situation was urgent and Dr. Kara was unavailable and both exhibited the same caring and skillful manner of their coworker, Dr Kamra.
I cannot say enough good things about this practice. If you have to go to the dentist, this practice goes the extra mile to provide you with top notch service in every aspect!

They were extremely kind and helpful, very quick to respond and answer our questions, and very courteous to my daughter who was going for the very first time. I'm really glad we chose this place for our family!

My hygienist was really professional and gentle. The dentist I felt barely looked at my teeth for the check up, then again my teeth are in great shape so maybe not much to look at?

I was in need of finding a dentist in Halifax after having a surfing accident. I had no family dentist previously because I had just moved to Halifax one year ago. The entire team at Complete Family Dentistry has been amazing. I have no insurance so they always go over cost with me ahead of time and the dentist I've been seeing has amazing bedside manners and is always telling his assistants how much he appreciates them, which I find so lovely to see and hear when I'm there. 10/10 would recommend!

This is the best dental office I’ve ever been to. The girls at reception were the most accommodating and we’re both aware of the nature of my inquiry when I came in for the appointment. Offered to transfer my chart before I even asked. The hygienist was so relaxing and immediately calmed me down, and left my teeth gleaming and refreshed. Even during my exit from the office, I noticed an amazing synergy between the departments and left with a smile on my face! I can’t wait to go back again. I must say, it’s been along time since I left a dental office smiling. Complete surpassed all of my expectations from the moment I was greeted by their friendly staff at the front desk, to the moment I left with my smile restored. Dr. Crosby fixed, with confidence, the oversights and negligent work of previous dentists and bonded two teeth with udder perfection that other dentists insisted I place veneers or crowns upon. His assistant Sheryl is just an absolute delight and both worked spectacular together, providing a surprisingly relaxed and comfortable appointment. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Crosby and Sheryl to anyone!
