Cornerstone Motel

Stayed at this motel in the beginning of Aug 2023 for 2 nights with my wife Rooms were reasonably priced, recently renovated and very clean. Fridge and micro in room. Coffee in morn was excellent. This motel was one of the highlights of our trip after a very long drive from Ontario. Greg and Cathy are wonderful hosts and I would not hesitate to stay again.

We had an excellent stay at Cornerstone Motel for our first Cabot Trail adventure. The owners were friendly and very helpful with information and recommendations and responsive to any requests related to our stay. From our room, we could see the welcome sign for the entrance to Cape Breton Highlands Park and for morning coffee or tea (provided by them at request), there were chairs right out front, as well as benches nearby overlooking the creek and mountains. Highly recommend! One small note: I wish they had little coffee makers in the rooms.

We stayed two nights. Room was comfy and clean. The owners/staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The place is located right next to the national park. Beautiful location and it was quiet at night. Great place!

Located just outside Cape Breton Nation Park. Owners are fabulous, and made me feel right at home after a bad experience at a local campground. Clean, spacious rooms with a mini fridge and microwave. Recommended.

Have to pay per person after 2 people. With a room that has 2 queen beds? Horrible customer service.

Decent stay at the Cornerstone Motel. Owners Cathy and Greg were friendly. Grounds and trail outside motel are beautiful. Most importantly the rooms were clean, but in need of some more modernization and updates. I'm sure in a few years with some effort this property can become a 5 Star budget option. For now it deserves 4 stars for the lack of a continental breakfast and older exterior + small lobby. Would definitely stay again if it's the cheapest option in Cheticamp.

Incredibly kind owners. This cute motel is right at the foot of the Highlands park, the closest you can get, and only minutes from Chéticamp. Highly recommend!

We accidentally booked for the previous night online but we wanted the next night. The owner called us to confirm our reservation and then graciously changed it with no issues. The accommodations were clean, modern, newly updated, the owners were polite, friendly and very accommodating and we loved our stay; we will definitely be coming back

The owners were delightful, great food recommendations. Property has a nice yard, fire pit and river. Very clean and all covid precautions in place. Would definitely stay again.

Amazingly friendly people, very knowledgeable, very clean rooms! Spectacular views and even had an area to sit around a firepit. Highly recommend

Very friendly staff. Gave great recommendations of things to do in the area. Also have a river behind the motel where you can take a dip! Appreciate the stay.

I attempted to post a review immediately after our stay in September but it never did show up in the reviews. We have never been so badly treated in an establishment solely because we were travelling by side x side. We were told that we have to leave a $250 cash deposit because we were driving an ATV. He was rude and confrontational and had sent us an email (to the wrong address) telling us about the required deposit. He said this is his policy because every single ATV that has ever stayed has damaged the property.
Our party of four are all over sixty and professionals but were judged based on our vehicle. Very disappointed.

I wrote a review that i think wasnt exemplifying the great service we received awesome Greg and his wife owners, beautiful place close to hiking trails, the Skyline, , the rooms were super clean and newly renovated we will return i recommend to everyone pristine beauty at its finest
