Donelda's Puffin Boat Tours

The weather was bad but Donelda took us out into the rain and fog. Puffins were sparse this time of year but eagles and seals were around.

Donalda was an amazing guide. This tour was the highlight of our Cape Breton trip. There were plenty of puffins, cormorants, seals and eagles out while we sailed. We plan to do this tour again next year, just earlier in the season!

Impressive, completely natural, you can enjoy the animals in their habitat, unique!
Pay attention to the muskets around the boat, before you get on it, they also go butt and ten nest how they bite!

What a great experience! Loved every minute of it. I've never seen so many birds all at once, such as bald eagles, razorbills, cormorants, etc. You'll definitely see puffins and tons of them. They're small and always on the move, so you'll need a good camera to capture a decent picture of them. You will also see a lot of seals. They were pretty much everywhere. Make sure you take extra layers. It can get windy.

Best boat tour EVER! Over two dozen bald eagles, birds and seals galore and puffins! They share so much information and make sure everyone gets a chance to see everything.
Note, very remote area bring snacks, drinks and bathroom breaks beforehand (boat has small toilet on board)

What an amazing adventure. We saw so many puffins, the bald eagles were amazing! Highly recommended. And saying “don’t miss it” isn’t enough. Go back! This cannot be passed up.

We had the most wonderful time on the boat tour. Donelda and the Captain are very nice, and we saw countless bald eagles, puffins, blue heron, and other native birds. We even saw seals. Would recommend for sure.

Fantastic experience! This husband and wife duo made our trip to the bird islands very enjoyable. They talked about all the types of birds we could expect to see, including puffins, herons, bald eagles (so many!). We also seen seals everywhere. Was a great trip and would definitely recommend to others!
Make sure you dress warm! I could have used mittens on this cool day.

This tour exceeded our expectations. We saw lots of different species of birds. The owners are very experienced and shared some wonderful information about all the wildlife we saw. Not to mention the beautiful views on the water. I would definitely book this tour again in the future. Very friendly and professional!

Loved it! As a West coast Canadian I felt like I got a steal of a deal for the education and experience. Went to see the puffins and ended up enjoying the eagle swooping for fish just as much!

We had a great day on the water, there was alot to look at and many birds and seals, the puffins are adorable but very fast. Was difficult to hear the tour guide from the noise, but the boat ride alone was great. Be careful booking online it has multiple confirmation steps before its complete

Guaranteed puffins. We got to see lots of birds and some seals. We were surprised by the eagles. Donelda did a great job making sure we were all comfortable and saw everything that she pointed out.

Loved, loved, loved this tour! We went to several places while on Cape Breton and this was by far my favourite. The lady guiding the tour works so incredibly hard, I hope she knows how much her grit and kindness is appreciated! We saw eagles, puffins, razorbills, cormorants, seals, and numerous other sea birds. We felt super safe on the boat and it was easy to board.

A great boat tour to the bird islands nearby. A total time of 2: 30 minutes and a great experience. Loved watching the seals, puffins and also bold eagles.

The excursion overall was great. The wife of the captain was very informative. Wish we could have seen the Puffins. They were small and fast. Most of my shots captured so little as I only brought my cellphone. With no high power lenses its hard to get any good shots close up. Lots of seals, along with a few eagles.
