Duck Cove Inn

Very good ambiance in the restaurant. To be perfectly honest, I was worried when I heard there was a new owner since I've known the Duck Cove for so long, but he was more than a delight to see! He is very friendly and complements the family atmosphere wonderfully! Good food and quick service for a reasonable price!

Was supposed to visit this place saturday sept 16th, taking a ferry from NL. (the ferry was canceled due to hurricane lee that very day) so we needed to cancel our hotel reservation.it was over 72 hours notification prior to stay based on severe weather.

THEY REFUSED CANCELATION.claimed they didnt hear any news of hurricane and refused any evidence to the contrary.instead insisted on charging us the full 2 nights.
So much for maritime hospitality,
give this place and thr greedy owners a HARD PASS.

The greeting at check-in was very friendly, you immediately feel welcome.
The rooms look very clean and newly renovated, and you also have a wonderful view of the water!

There is nothing to criticize.

Very good hotel, the room is very clean, it can be seen that the owner is very attentive, the restaurant is also very clean, and the surrounding environment is also very beautiful, it is worth recommending!

This accommodation is the very worst and doesn't even deserve this one star. It's like a dump and the clerk was rude and aggressive. She insulted us and wanted a higher price for the rooms than what was stated in the booking. Absolute rip off and definitely not recommended. It baffles me that there are positive reviews for such a dump here.

Opened the door to our room only to discover a horrifying stench that turned out to be a dead mouse floating in the toilet. Clearly no one had checked the room in some time, as we also found a layer of dust sitting on the open roll of toilet paper. Front desk was not pleasant to deal with either. Poor wifi connection. Only good thing was the view that Nature provided us.

We happened to get a newly renovated room which was very clean and comfortable. Great beds, linens, and soft towels. Staff were helpful and let us know about local restaurants.

Had an awesome Sunday Brunch …. Great staff and treated with respect. The place was booked tight but if I go back again i will book a room ahead of time for this looked like a great place to stay and with a beautiful view to top it off. Love this place Thank you.

Not very clean. The wifi didn’t work at all. The tv depends on internet and it’s connected over wifi so that didn’t work either.

No a/c, so was super hot even with a fan. There were earwigs all over the place in the room.gross. The TV didn't work, and the wifi was really slow. Wouldn't recommend this place.

Stayed here during a motorcycle trip of The Trail. Newly renovated room was clean and comfortable with much needed air conditioner. Wi-fi a little weak but worked. I recommend as a clean, friendly and comfortable overnight stay with a lovely view.

Not recommended at all!
First, we booked two rooms but because of some confusion on their end they said you have one room but since you paid for the second room, we’ll adjust you, the first room was decent but second room was very poorly maintained, no carpets on the floor, lights were not functioning properly in room or in washroom either. Second, their website clearly mentions Free breakfast and wifi, there is NO FREE BREAKFAST and WIFI is so slow, you CANNOT use it at all.
NOT WORTH the PRICE at all.

It was very clean. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was very good. No ac in the room but we had a fan and it was a cool evening and night. Had to drive to another town for dinner. Beautiful scenery on the water.

The rooms weren’t great extremely outdated, yellow Carpit, hard beds broken lampshades. Wifi didn’t work at all. Bed spreads were gross. No free breakfast, do not recommend this place. Could hear everything from other guests through the walls. Staff wasn’t that friendly. Make sure you park your vehicle properly because you will be told to move and fix it. They will knock on your doors and make your move. Pick a different place to stay lol

Clean room. A little outdated. Had breakfast buffet on Sunday. So much for free breakfast. TWO people ate and it cost me $45 plus taxes for a buffet. Ridiculous price.

Not worth the money for one night! Very out date! But had a great view. Room maybe a 2 beds hard and door locks work a little bit! Not good! And you hear everything around you! Everything! Lol

I usually don’t write reviews unless they are good but for this I will make an exception. First of all no air conditioning, the beds are hard and very uncomfortable, the room is very outdated and kinda dumpy. The only good thing about it was the pressure in the shower Would not stay there again I would rate this a 2 out of 10. Not worth $140.00

The motel room was old but very clean and complete. The staff was nice and accommodating. The view is nice from the rooms.
I recommend this motel to all.

Good comfy Motel with lots of amenities around and close to almost every beautiful trails, budget friendly and the owners are super nice and friendly.

On the fence. We were grateful for a place to stay, but the lady at the counter was quite rude. They also make you pay when you check in, not when you check out. Room was … dated. Which is not a big deal. Tv didn’t work. Not a big deal. Room had earwigs and bug traps everywhere… kinda a big deal considering if was $140 for the night. However, breakfast was good, and restaurant staff were great. Reminded me of the tidal bore motel in truro. Probably won’t be back by choice.

We booked 12 rooms! MashaAllah beautiful rooms. What a view from the motel. Very clean and all rooms were ready by 1pm.

Will definitely go back.

A beautiful and secluded beach is just few minutes drive from there

Rooms were super clean. SUPER friendly staff. Lots of homemade goods at the breakfast buffet. Had a great stay here all around. Oh, also amazing view from our room and the dining room.

We didnt stay here. Just had breakfast. The view was absolutely spectacular. The food was great!

The nice owner and clean room were perfect after a long foggy, rainy day of driving the Cabot Trail. Clean room with plenty of space, I would definitely return.

So kindly accommodating to this sopping wet cyclist after a day in the rain! Fair prices, good food, clean rooms, great staff!

If i can give you and advice don't stay at this hotel find something better

we stay at this hotel for 2 night and I think that was a mistake after few hours in the room i was feeling like I want just to get refund and find a better spot but it was too late

here the positive:
-the staff is friendly, polite, helpful
-food is ok but the choice was very limited and the open hour are just retarded
-and the view is amazing
-room is decent size
-it clean

the negative hold on tight there a long list:

-first off the room look like it coming from the 70's
-the bed feel like a rock.when I pull up the mattress I saw a date 1999
-there is still yellow carpet
-tv is an old tv tube can't plug any laptop on it
-the wifi is poor cutting in and out the amount of access point is probably ok there at least 8 of them but the wan connection is 5 mbps for around 40-50 people it way not enough
and the security is very poor on it.
-spider web all over the balcony
-could ear everybody on the next room

this hotel definitely need renovation ASAP
is at least the bed could be conformable It could help but it not the case
