Amazingly delicious food, and the owner is super friendly. I had the Chimichanga and it was incredible, you can taste the delicious chorizo, very well prepared. I highly recommend trying this place.

Small portions but absolutely delicious and fresh every time. The mushroom tacos cooked in chipotle are actually spicy, which is great for me as I love spice.

Also the lobby/foyer is very small and Mexican doesn't travel well so you basically gotta eat in your car.
Overall great food if you live close by.

First visit: a Saturday afternoon in the fall of 2022? Tried the daily special which was delicious.a beef torta that I can't remember the exact name. Great thick, crispy bread, so much flavor in the meat, with that perfect homemade touch that's hard to define. Only wish is that there was space for dine in and now know that a 2nd location will be opening up soon, with tables, I think in Cole Harbour? Look forward to it.

2nd visit: Feb 2023 grabbed a large nachos for Saturday lunch. Not massive, but exactly the portion size that worked for me where I ate it all and was satisfied. Loaded with delicious toppings. I want to continue supporting the owner, bc there is just something about here that I love.

3rd visit: later Feb 2023 on a sunny Saturday at 4: 30. One other customer there at the time. I ordered the Pollo en Verde burrito and yum! Just the right size to be satisfied and not over full again. Wrapped very neatly & tightly with the perfect dispersed toppings, so wasn't messy to eat at all. A few delicious chips thrown in.

4th visit: couple of shrimp and chicken tacos. Simple, bit messy, delicious.

5th visit: pork burrito - yum in the same way as the chicken.

6th visit: finally ordered the huevos rancheros, that I've wanted to order all along. It's exactly what I predicted. Perfect blend of flavors, size, etc.

If able, I will be back to try the rest of the menu!

This place is a hidden gem! It's grab and go, which kind of suits my style anyways. It has so much character, the guy running the place is so friendly and it looks like he does it all himself. I've had tacos from other places around the city and, so far, these are by far the best!

So far the best Mexican food in NS! The price is very fair and delicious! For sure I'm gonna go back to try other options!

Ex Chef-First time drop in tonight, had heard good things. Man o man. This guy is nailing it. These are so good I want to take him by the hand into a busier foot-traffic neighborhood and make him rich. He's is such a nice guy and he can seriously cook. Very impressed. What an odd location for such a great product, lets get it into downtown Dartmouth-proper my man!

Such good food. Ingredients made in-house, with tons of flavour and depth. There’s a large menu with many delicious sounding options. I went for the Baja Shrimp and I loved it. The guy was very nice and easy to talk to, and took a lot of pride in his work. Overall a pleasant atmosphere. Will be back for sure!

Owner is friendly and makes delicious food. For the price you pay - the quality and portion sizes are well worth it! I will definitely be coming back.

The quality of the pork was simply amazing, you could tell that it was slow-cooked for at least five hours! However, the salsa left much to be desired. The staff member (who might also be the owner himself) was quite helpful and engaging! The little store is wonderfully decorated as well.
Be aware that the quantity of food is small and there is no eating area in-store. The food is also a tad bit expensive (for reference, 15x more expensive as you would find similar-quality tacos for in Mexico City).
If you want to try out the special menu item of the day, I suggest going early as they are quite popular and get sold out in the morning itself!

NOT so slowly working my way through the menu not a miss yet. Various Tacos, Chimichanga, and Steak Pepito. All very fresh, tasty with just enough heat and service is just overall excellent. I would have posted a pic but they didn't sit still long enough ;-)

I went one of the first days they opened and the food was great. Went back after twice around 5-6 pm on a Thursday and months later on a Friday and lights were on, open sign was lit but door was locked. Don’t think I will try to return again.

First time eating here after friends highly recommended. Everything we ordered was excellent! Honestly one of the tasty burritos I have had - unique and so incredibly tasty.

This place is always my partners and I first choice when choosing to eat out! The owner is fantastic, and charismatic. Our favorite item off of the menu is the Burritos. They are to die for delicious, and made with fresh ingredients!

Super friendly staff, very well prepared food. Everything was great, the Barbacoa Tacos were amazing! The spicy salsa was rich and flavorful.

The pork and beef burritos are delicious, very filling, and easy to handle. They’re cut smartly down the centre, so you could share if you want. Plus theres a few nachos thrown in as a bonus snack.

The best authentic Mexican food I've tried in Halifax! Tacos come with an individual portion of fresh Mexican rice and the Burrito with homemade tortilla chips. Will definitely be back in the near future to try the other menu items!

Drove by and saw his sign yesterday saying I needed to try. Stopped into today for lunch and BAM! My new Favourite Mexican spot in all of HRM! I had tacos barbacoa and a special Chicken Milanesa sandwich. The barbacoa was tender, tasty and just the right amount of spice! Loved it! The Chicken sandwich was bigger than expected and full of flavour. All ingredients were fresh and the taste is authentically Mexican. I now need to try everything on the menu! Thank you!

Pretty good food but expensive for the portions you get. Also not served warm and comes with no salsa.

Best tacos in Dartmouth. Probably the best tacos in the Halifax Region.

All good, but the fish tacos deserve special mention - breaded with a perfect layer of crisp batter reminiscent of, but finer than the standard local fish & chips, the fish is of such a divine and silky texture that it was difficult to believe.

Worth crossing the harbour.

I mixed and matched the 2 piece tacos. One Barbacoa and one Carnita. The flavours were great. But I found them to be a little small. I probably could have eaten another one. Cost was $9.50 for 2. Next time I will go for the burrito. I will definitely go back!

Edit: I went back and tried the burrito. I had the beef one. It was a touch greasy but still flavourful. Definitely filling. It came with some chips.

He told me he had a new menu coming so I am looking forward to seeing it. I will return!

The best burrito i had in HRM (which really isnt hard to do honestly). The other places are fine but this has more flavour to it. I will be going back for sure to try the tacos and other things on the menu!

The food here is good, but the overall quality has gone down a bit compared to when he first opened. There wasn't any rice left for the tacos when we went recently, for example, then we were charged $3 for a tiny pot of salsa to go with the chips (which we only got because there was no rice). Hungry again a couple of hours later.

Although I was skeptical that they use cheese sauce for the nachos (which reminded me of cineplex nachos) they actually tasted delicious! Very clean and cute interior and friendly service. I added some pineapple hot sauce and next time will ask for extra jalapeños! Delicious snack and will be ordering for our next movie night!

Me and my family stopped to pick up lunch and it was delicious. Highly recommended. I had the carnitas taco.

After returning the HRM from the US, I did not expect to find a really satisfying taqueria, but this is it. The meat is delicious, and tender, proper barbacoa, carnitas, and other fillings to bright. They have real salsa roja and salsa verde to go with it. Real Mexican in Dartmouth? This is a win!

This is how imagine authentic home-cooked Mexican meals to taste. I consider the tacos and burritos medium to hot spicy, which is more than my heat sensitive pallet would typically like but they strike the right balance—delicious and flavourful! The tacos are great for a lighter meal while the burritos are filling. Good value for money and the service is fast and friendly. We will be repeat customers.

Good serving with nice ingredients, it wasn't sloppy from veggies juices. The jalapeños were juicy.

2 tacos, guac for 13 bucks.
Every rice grain was plump. Texture was really good. The tacos I only finished because I paid for them.
Dry and not flavorful. Just chunks of pork and the barest amount of mayonnaise or sour cream I couldn't tell. Red onions are nice and thin. Tacos for white people's taste and Sensibility. Taco kits have more flavour than these did.

Great food and great service! Prepared fresh in front of you. Reasonable prices and absolutely delicious. Will be going back again for sure.

Absolutely amazing tacos, our entire house tried them tonight along with Nachos, the meat was better than I’ve had in Mexico. Worth every single penny, will be back, multiple times, with many friends.
