We reserved a vehicle 1.5 weeks ahead of our travel to Sydney. We received two email confirmations for our booking and one of which was received 4 days prior to our arrival. However, one day before our scheduled pick up time, an email was sent to us by the Branch Rental Assistant Manager in the late afternoon advising us that there would not be a car available for us in spite of a reservation. We were on a cruise ship sailing to Sydney and was not able to receive and read the email until the ship arrived at the port in the morning and that the internet data was available. Without a car meant that our plan to visit the numerous attractions in and around Sydney was crushed. The email mentioned that they had checked with other rental companies, Budget/Avis, and suggested that we should contact them. We did contact Budget/Avis but the cost of the rental was more than double of the price that was quoted for our reservation with Enterprise. It seemed like price gouging and the company was taking advantage of the situation. The last minute cancellation seems to be a common occurrence at this Enterprise location as there are few other reviews complaining of the same problem. Enterprise needs to better manage the inventories so that customers are not stuck without a vehicle due to your incompetency. People spent many hours planning vacation in advance to ensure a relaxing and memorable trip that they can treasure. Enterprise's incompetency to manage the vehicle inventory and the last minute cancellation of a reservation that was booked weeks and even months ahead could ruin a once a lifetime memories for people. We planned and made advance reservations for accommodations and transportation to ensure an enjoyable vacation with minimal stress and also to avoid being price gouged with last minute booking. Needless to say our trip to Sydney was very disappointing and unable to visit the places we had planned. Enterprise failed to manage its inventories and lacked the courtesy to provide sufficient advance cancellation notice for its customers to make alternative arrangements.

Reserved a vehicle 6 months in advance to be told on my way to pickup the car they don't have one available for rent. Had to go to a different rental center last minute.
