Eyes On Lacewood

As always, had a wonderful experience with the team at Eyes on Lacewood. Korinne, Nilha, and Dr. French are a welcoming and knowledgeable team, making you feel at ease throughout the testing and eye examination process. I was finished my full appointment in under a half an hour. I stopped to check out their frame selection, which includes a house line of frames and some new lines, including the beautiful translucent blue Poison Bunny frames pictured. Dr. French is both warm and professional, always taking time to explain everything fully and answer any questions I have. Korinne and Nilha were wonderful, and explained all my options for ordering, offered me a copy of my prescription before leaving and noted that it's always on file for me. There is also lots of parking available and it's conveniently located just off the highway. Highly recommend the team at this location.

So, I should have stopped getting glasses here when my first pair from them had their lenses fall out before I got them home.

This year, at the end of the summer it came time to get my new prescription and I was eager to do so, because the pair I was wearing from them had started to disintegrate - the coating on the lenses was lifting making them basically unusable - which is bad when you can't get a replacement at the drug store to hold you over.

They had a deal on where you get three pair for $300, which sounded great. Of course they throw on several hundred dollars of additional costs, but I guess that's the racket. What I wasn't prepared for was to wait four months to get my glasses.

Granted, one pair was given to me - which are the ones that single-focus. I'm guessing they're easier to make? Those only took 2 months.

I called two weeks ago to see what the story was and they told me they'd outsourced or something. I asked when I can expect to get my glasses, but the person I spoke to said they had no idea if they'd even been sent to this new provider, and that they'd get back to me.

Still waiting. Forgive me for the drama, but this is some ridiculously bad quality, management and customer service. It truly boggles the mind.

I took one of my broken glasses to the shop. Korinne helped me to fix with no charge at all. Friendly employees and professional skills on fixing!

Korinne and Nilha were absolutely amazing. So helpful knowledgeable and easy going. Made the experience completely positive. And seemless even when the insurance companies gives you trouble:) 10/10 recommend

I am in Canada from last 3.5 years. This was my first visit to any doctor in Canada. My experience was excellent. They treat patient very well and in efficient way. I’ll definitely recommend this location. All staff members are very polite and listen your problem very well. Thankyou so much for great service.

Dr. Chow has been taking care of my eyes for a very long time, and he went out of his way to help my niece find custom glasses since she has next to no bridge for glasses to stay on her face. I can’t say enough good things about Freddie’s office.

Most expensive routine eye exam in Halifax ($160) with the worst experience. Dr. Julie Maillet was dismissive and disrespectful to me who is the parent of her patient, who is a teenager. When she called my daughter in for the exam, she was like "ONLY ***** (my daughter's name) " while I have walked 4 steps with my daughter towards her exam room. I was frightened, stopped, and remained in the waiting room. After a few minutes, I realized that I have the right to be with my daughter as a legal guardian and should not be treated like that. I told the receptionist that I wanted to go into the examination room and be with my daughter, but the receptionist told me that they had a one-person policy in the examination room. I asked her to show me the policy, and she said that she didn't have access to it and insisted that I couldn't be in the examination room. When the examination was over, all the doctor told me was that my daughter needed prescription glasses and handed the prescription to the cashier before walking away without another word. I asked her to explain the examination results to me, so she made me go into the examination room with her alone. When she was about to explain how to prevent your vision from getting worse in the future, I asked her to let my daughter in so that she could listen to it herself. She refused and insisted that only one person was allowed in the examination room, so I asked to go to out to the waiting room so we could talk about it with my daughter. The guidance she gave was vague and unhelpful.

It's fine if you're not a people person, but as an optometrist, it's your responsibility to explain the examination results and provide guidance on preventive measures to protect your vision and to prevent it from worsening any further, not just throw the prescription in the patient's face and leave. A legal guardian has the right to be with their child during an examination, and the one-person policy shouldn't override that right. What if the child is only 2 years old?

Do not go to this place, I don't think that Dr. Julie Maillet is qualified to be an optometrist.

Quick to schedule an appointment, examinations and optometrist were pleasant. A complete prescription for bifocal/progressive lenses has not been provided to my father after his examination. He has spoken to them 3 times over 2 weeks and they seem unable to give him this information, and otherwise do not answer the phone most times that we call to resolve the issue.

I recently went to Eyes On Lacewood for a general eye checkup and considered a new pair of glasses. Kendra helped me from first check in, to the preliminary (preperatory) part of the exam, and then after I saw the doctor. Dr. French was polite, professional, and prompt in my exam and really helped me to understand what all the equipment was for and what they were looking for at each step. It's this kind of interesting information and friendly demeanor that will ensure I'm a returning client for years to come. When I had finished the appointment with Dr. French, Kendra VERY PATIENTLY helped me sort through many (gorgeous) frames, clearly outlining all the (amazing) promos they had without making me feel like she was selling anything, and providing me with service that made me feel more like a friend, rather than a client. Kendra's customer service skills should be rewarded as I left feeling more like family than I did a random patient. Thanks to her for her UNBELIEVABLE service: definitely will be back!

Ling was very good with handling my order of ordering my new glasses on my upgrade of new glasses

I needed emergency readjustment for my glasses - I sat on them by accident…Kassandra did her “thing” in just one go. She looked at my glasses, said they were definitely uneven and after like 10 mins, I could see again! LOL

Glasses are a bit touching my lower cheeks. She suggested that if I wanted better adjustments, I should go to eyes on Bedford (she even told me the exact location) coz their senior optician is still on vacation.

A very good place to have your eyes checked. Glasses are all affordable. Everyone’s friendly and accomodating. I was assisted by Ling and she helped me choose my glasses. Good deal, professional, friendly people. Will come back for sure if i need another pair.

Ben and Katie were very helpful in choosing 3 pairs of glasses today! They were fun and patient, and gave great advice and feedback on sizes and styles of frames for my small, hard-to-find glasses for face! Plus Eyes on Lacewood's 3 glasses deal is awesome!

Ben was super helpful today helping me pick out replacement frames. He was able to choose styles that suited my face better than ones I selected myself. He was very patient, i think I must have tried on every pair in the store!

Getting glasses for the first time can be a little scary and intimidating. At this location they really have the most friendly staff. Ben and Katie in particular, made my experience at Eyes on Lacewood seamless. They were friendly, kind, and funny which I loved. They helped me pick out the perfect pair of glasses for my face shape. Definitely check this office out if you need a new eye doctor!

I went there to get an eye exam and to buy a new frame (because of their promotion), but I didnt expect the wonderful service i got from Ben and Kelly, they were wonderful, patient, and knowledgeable. Kelly even helped me re-adjusted the fit of my current glasses (which I bought from other optometry). I definitely recommend going there. The eye exam was also done properly.

Just had my eye exam after 2 years with Eyes On Lacewood. I was greeted with a big smile and lots of great customer service from Ariel who works the front end of the store. Her welcoming attitude and warm smile made me feel at ease, especially during this global pandemic where rules and health protocols can cause a great deal of anxiety. Ariel was informative and had an excellent command of the products and procedures for Eyes On Lacewood. Once she was done, I had my eye exam with Dr. French, who is great. As an incoming university student, I made an appointment at Eyes On Lacewood where no other alternative location could accommodate me before my time of leaving. Needless to say, this was definitely the right choice (and utlimately a saving grace decision) for such an important step in my life! As a newcomer, I found that both the pace of the visit and the service were smooth and timely. My experience with the optometrist was refreshingly straightforward and honest. Furthermore, without Ariel's enthusiastic help during the wait periods, I could not have taken a new-found liking towards a pair of unique frames that helped me feel extra confident. I would highly recommend this place!

Ben, Myhon and Carolyne were very friendly and super helpful. They sorted out some miscommunications about my eye exam and successfully troubleshot my health insurance in their system so I got a discount. I don't normally expect to have a good laugh when I go to the optometrist, they are a great team of people!

Great experience here! It was my first time getting an eye exam since I was a child so I was a bit nervous. Ben and Ariel made it an actual enjoyable experience and hooked me up with some cool new glasses. Can’t recommend them enough.

Me and my daughter had our eye check up here yesterday and staffs Mr. Ben, Miss Ariel and Miss Mihyoun were very approachable and assisted us in every little thing.also Dr. McDonald tend to do the examinations not only thoroughly but will explain all the specific details.

I booked an appointment here as it was close to my home. I went in this morning, and it was honestly a really good experience, the staff was extremely friendly, and knowledgeable, Ben greeted me and got things started, he was pleasant and efficient, Dr Maillet was lovely and my exam went smoothly. After my exam Ariel was wonderful and answered all of my questions and helped me figure out the right frames for my budget. This was the single best experience I've had at an optometry office in my life, andI would recommend this location to everyone.

Was in today and assisted by Ariel, Ben and Mihyun. Very good team and very professional. Nothing but positive dealing with this location. Dr French is also one of the best I've ever dealt with when comes to eye care.

My opinion is they have terrible customer service. Daughter caught in traffic and was 4 minutes late, they made her rebook and insisted on a no show fee. Will take business elsewhere.

This was my first time needing to get glasses. Going in I had no idea what I was looking for.
Luckily Sarah & Katie were there to help me with any questions I had and to help pick out something that looked half decent. (I think glasses look bad on me haha). They are very Covid conscious and make sure your visit is a comfortable one.
