I have been going to this office for over 25 years and the past 2 years have been horrible! The front desk staff (not sure what their titles are) are completely rude and incompetent! Last year I started receiving calls from them saying I was overdue for an appointment in June which was wrong because my previous appointment had been in October. After several messages I called back and booked an appointment. A week before that appointment I was called and told insurance wouldn't cover the appointment as it was too early. A few weeks went by and again they started calling to book my appointment as they said I was overdue. Same story - a day or two before the appointment they cancelled saying insurance wouldn't cover it. I don't have eye insurance and I told them that. I also told them I am Diabetic and am supposed to have an exam every year which in NS is free! Eventually I did get an exam booked with Dr. Chow which went well - no complaints about him and he did make a note in my file about having an exam every year. The office staff however, are very pushy and they bully you into buying glasses there. Before you even have your exam done they take you to look at and try on frames. I said I wanted my prescription as I planned to get glasses elsewhere (I knew from previous experiences with this location that you never receive glasses until after at least 2 months) and the woman made me wait while she made up a quote for me. I still bought glasses elsewhere. This year I received a call late in October (I had been expecting them to start harassing me for an appointment as my last one was the end of October) telling me I had an appointment booked for 12: 10 on a certain day. I called back and said that I had never made an appointment and said I was unavailable at that time. I work until 4: 30 every day and am not able to leave at that time. The person on the phone made an appointment for me on another day at 4: 50. The day before that appointment I received a message that my appointment was changed to 12: 10 so I called back and said I couldn't make it but no one ever answered my message. I called the next day and told them again that I couldn't make that time and made another appointment for a later date for 4: 50. Again I received a call telling me my appointment was cancelled as there was NO DOCTOR WORKING AT THAT TIME! Why would they make an appointment when no Dr.was available or for that matter why was I never told what time the last booking with a Dr.was? I left several emails and phone messages trying to book again and never got a response so I stopped by the office. I was finally told that the latest appointment available with a Dr.was at 3: 50. The woman got mad at me when she tried to book an appointment for next week but I told her I have to give a week's notice if I need to change my work hours - I can't just leave early whenever without sufficient notice. The next appointment she tried to give me was Dec 28th. I declined and said I will go somewhere else. Why is the location open until 6 pm every day if there isn't a Dr.on the premises? So basically they are just a glorified store to sell glasses where maybe you can see an Optometrist if you don't have a job and can go there whenever it suits them. I will never go there again and now have to find a new Optometrist after 25 years!

They have been calling and harassing me going on three years now.

I received god-awful customer service. Told them I would be taking my business elsewhere and to delete my file. Every time they call I tell them the same thing, and they keep calling.

In May of 2020 my glasses got damaged. I brought them into Eyes on Mumford, I was told by the lady at the desk that the lenses were covered under warranty. They had my glasses for five business (seven in total), called me back and said they weren’t covered under warranty and I’d have 48 hours to pick them up or they’d dispose of them.

I kicked up a fuse and they lady called me back with THREE separate offers, all slightly better than the last.

If your employee promised a customer something…. Give the customer what was promised and retrain your employee. THAT’S customer service! Also, don’t penny pinch people on offers when your business is what caused the issue.

Stop calling my phone I will never give you people another cent of my money. Up until that incident Eyes on has been the only optometrist I’ve been to, you’ve literally lost a 20+ year customer over something stupid.

Worst experience ever. Waited eight weeks for glasses only to finally receive them and there was a marker stain on the lens that wouldn’t come off so I couldn’t take them. No communication. No responses to emails. Rude people when I tried to phone and find out where my order was. They acted as if I was disturbing them. Terrible customer service. An absolute joke. My partner who ordered their glasses at the same time is still waiting. Never again.

What a terrible place to get glasses. They offered three pairs of glasses at a sale price, so I took two and they said I could get one more for free. When I stopped by yesterday to get that, however, I was asked to pay an additional $59 for the Lenz coating. Despite my request, they refused to get the frame without Lenz since it costs over $200. They are running a ridiculous promotion, so don't buy anything.

They were amazing! I was able to get in so quickly and be seen. Everyone was so kind and helpful. They even helped with suggestions on types of glasses based on my preference. Showed me different color options, and were overall amazing to deal with. And you can't beat direct billing with insurance if you have it!

Mun and sophie were very helpful in selecting glasses and appearance of glasses. Also in explaining each glasses and individual features of some.
Dr Chow very professional and explained each step of the eye exam.
They all made the process simple and easy.
Would recommend to anyone looking for eye exam and to find glasses.

Great Service and great customer experience.
I went to see Dr. Chow at EOM this week and he was very much professional and he went above and beyond. I believe this was the best eye exam ever I have had with any of the professions ever. It was 6 star treatment. I highly recommend him for any ophthalmic issues.
All of the team members in EOM showed a great deal of professionalism as well. Mun was very caring while doing pre-testing, Mykie was very much detail-oriented while taking glass measurement and Kendra was very much efficient while booking my next few appointments with different clinics and describing the prescription.

The exam and my entire experience was great. Everyone in the place was very nice, knowledgeable and friendly. I ended up ordering 2 pairs of glasses leaving the third pair for my husband. I am really looking forward to getting my new pairs! I would like to especially thank Mykie and Kendra for their help in picking new frames and fitting me for my new pairs. I'd also like to thank Dr. French for taking the time to explain everything to me as she did my exam. Thanks for taking great care of me!

I recently had an appointment at eyes on Mumford and had a great experience. Mun was very professional, informative and very helpful with assisting me in choosing my frames. All of the staff were very friendly and fast. Would definitely recommend!

Mykie has great customer service that she took her time with me. Helped me pick up some glasses and help with the cost so I can afford the Eyewear. Munny, Sher, Sofia and Brandon had been a great audience of me choosing my Eyewear. The whole group shows me their confidence, kindness of not hurrying me out the door quickly And Dr. Chow was Profesional, and had fconfidence. I appreciate the help from everyone and would recommend to friends and family.

I've been to this location and seen Dr. Maillet twice now, once in 2020 and just recently. Both times the office staff have been great and friendly. The first appointment with Dr. Maillet in 2020 went well - she did seem a bit rushed, but I chalked it up to working in healthcare and having a bad/off day (I can relate). However, on this most recent visit, I did not have a good experience at all. She was short, rushed, and did not attempt to address my concerns. I once again tried to be compassionate and brush it off as a bad/busy day for her, but after reading some of the reviews on here, it seems like this is not an uncommon occurrence. The appointment was bad enough that I am booking another appointment with a different ophthalmologist, despite my healthcare coverage being met.

Freddie Chow was very rude to a friend of mine regarding wearing a mask. Nice way to isolate your customers and commit business suicide. At the end of the day you businesses need customers more than we need you. Nice going Freddie!

I went to Eyes on Mumford for the first time this week to get an over-due eye exam. Dr. Chow was very friendly and professional. It was discovered that I needed glasses. I returned to the clinic a couple days later to pick out my frames and lenses. On both visits Ariel and Carolyn were patient with me and walked me through the process and answered all my questions confidently. Discovering that I needed glasses was a bit overwhelming and I felt supported by the staff here. Thank you.

I had the best experience yesterday and finally i knew what was bothering my eyes and we will be working on it moving forward but the staff are just amazing friendly and felt like family to me and we kept joking laughing pretty much as i know them for 20years hahaha! Went in today for an eye exam and Dr Chow was great. Very helpful and answered my questions. Then realizing I needed glasses Carolyn was super helpful in helping me pick out a pair that actually fit my face properly and the staff in general just seemed honest about picking something that looked good on me. Very pleased with my service today.

I visited Eyes on Mumford for the first time exactly a week ago. I had broken both my glasses and could hardly see. I had a very warm registration process and the lady at the reception was patient with me and understanding because i was having a difficult time without glasses. I got to see Dr Chow who was very professional and provided me with a range of options. But the best part of the experience was selecting my new glasses. The team was patient, helpful and very friendly and i had a great time deciding on the two pairs i ended up buying. There was a kind gentleman who helped me select the range of frames that would work best for my facial features and both Carolyn and Ariel were amazing! The two ladies were very supportive and made me feel very comfortable. I will definitely go back.

Had a recent appointment for an eye exam and purchased new glasses. Dr Maillet is always professional during the exams. Ariel and Sam assisted me with selecting and fitting me for new glasses. They were very helpful and knowledgeable with their products and services. COVID-19 protocols in full effect and made me feel safe. I have been a patient of theirs for many years and have always received excellent service.

RECOMMEND. Dr. Chow was great at providing a detailed yet simple explanation of his findings in regards to my eyes rather than just doing an examination and providing a prescription. He didn't make me feel rushed. I was left with a great understanding of future considerations for my eye health. The rest of the team Carolyn and Maddy did an amazing job of looking after me and helping me with the additional questions I had and ensuring I had everything I needed. Well done!

Went to Eyes on Mumford for the first time in June 2021 - great experience, the staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and they affordable and stylish options for eyewear. Went to pick them up yesterday and they fit perfectly and I was so excited to get them! A special thanks to Carolyn and Myrna for making my visit easy and like I have been a client for years! And great job on the COVID safety measures as well! So pleased, I just recommended to my son!

I didn't find the atmosphere too welcoming when I first went in and the staff seemed to think I wouldn't be able to afford it at first. After waiting for almost 2 months for my glasses I got them and Kelly was very helpful when she fitted them for my face.

I have been taking my children to the location since they were between 6-9 months old. Everyone here has always been amazing!
Carolyn and Maddy were very friendly and made my kids feel at ease and happy throughout the process. My son was very excited to get a green lollypop. Thank you ladies for being wonderful:)

Had a good experience with Eyes on Mumford recently for my first eye glass purchase with them. They were pleasant and knowledgeable and got everything set up within a couple weeks to deliver the glasses and ensure they fit. Special shout out to Carolyn and Kelly for their assistance with the fitting and adjustments.

Went there for the first time today and it was such a good experience! I was nervous since it's been so long since getting my eyes checked out and everyone made me feel comfortable.

Stacey and Ben were so sweet and helpful and Alaa was very honest and helped.me through the entire exam process.

Definetly recommend these guys!

Optometrist Maillet is the worst ever I've seen in my entire life. She was very impatient during my eye exam today. We just started to read the first set of alphabets and she asked 1 or 2 which one is better. I said can I please see 1 again. She replied very rudely that we have to be quick. I was eagerly waiting to get out of there. At the beginning of the test itself, I told her that my right eye is turning inside like squint and it had started recently. She didn't at all speak anything about it during the entire exam. When I was going out of the room, I asked her if there is anything I need to do to control the squint. Her reply was exactly this "Your vision is all good. There's nothing I can do if your eyes are misaligned". I was shocked by her answer. I thought I was there for help. I understand that she cannot do anything given her impatience but I thought at least I'd be guided with the next steps. I just feel that she robbed my insurance money: (

While my prescriptions have always been accurate, I almost always have issues with reception. Most recently they informed me at my appointment that they no longer direct bill to my provider (NIHB), which they acknowledged could have been a phone call before my appointment but they hadn't updated my number in several (more than 2) years which seems like a no-brainer when someone has their eye exams bi-annually. It isn't really a customer's job to remember to ask. It's also really disappointing that they no longer direct bill, that's the deciding factor for me so I showed up for nothing and since then I've switched to Vogue as they will do it and their reception makes everything so easy.

Dr. Freddie Chow has incredible patience and accuracy in ensuring your prescription is exactly what is needed for you. Eyes on Mumford never disappoints; I have been going to them since early 2017 and I highly recommend them for their amazing service, friendly staff and high professionalism.
