Drinks were great! Ordered the mushroom Bao bun and it was so rich and filling. The sauce legitimately makes you want to lick the plate. The were very accommodating for my gluten-free mom!

Let me begin with saying we love love love the food and cocktails at Field Guide! Everything we tasted so far are bursting with flavor and are very unique combinations. However last night the way we were treated quite upset me and my friends because we made a reservation for 8 pm and when we got there they told us our table is not ready, people were sitting in our table just ordered their desserts. We were seated at the bar and told to wait for that table to finish, even though they take your credit card info to make the reservation! We had to wait 43 minutes to be able to sit at the table we made reservations and our server did not say anything like oh we are sorry, apologies nothing, as if this is okay for this restaurant to do this to their patrons. I worked in hospitality and we always either let people know that they need to leave by certain time because that table is reserved or we didn’t seat people there close to the reservation time. Worse case scenario sincere apology or an offer of a dessert would have been nice after making us wait 43 mins for a table we reserved.

Our Field Guide experience was really good. I like how they blended the small dinning room with the bar, it gathers everyone inside. It's hard to understand the restaurant pattern between all the meals, but we definitely enjoyed the food. Mushroom bao and cauliflower taco are both a must (we also really liked the gnocchi). Good place to bring a date!

We came in in the early evening on a weekday just after they opened, and the staff seemed scandalized that we didn't have a reservation. They sat us *right* next to the only other table in the place. By the time we left no other table had shown up, so it was a weird experience overall.

On the plus side the food was great and the prices were decent.

We had an incredible meal! Don't miss out on the tuna & radishes and the mushroom bao! Loved every morsel! The service was great and the cocktails were creative and delicious!

Always thought this place was lovely for cocktails and snacks, however, the “Let us decide for you” option was 5+ stars! We loved every bite and discovered new favs.

Our favorites (in order of most favorite) :
1) seared scallops with cannellini beans
2) rhubarb upside down cake
3) tuna and turnips
4) fresh oysters with house made strawberry? Mignonette and hot sauces
5) the prettiest potato salad on earth

P. S. All the cocktails we had were perfection. I loved the nonino fresco (incredibly refreshing) and my partner enjoyed the campensino old fashioned.

We stopped in here a few weeks ago for a mid day drinks and some apps! Their cocktail menu was fun to look at and I ended up going with the Pandan one which was delicious! Foodwise, we ordered oysters and one of each of the baos. Though we’re not vegetarian, the mushroom baos are a MUST try. So incredibly flavourful and melt in your mouth, we could’ve ordered another ten of them.

Lots of seating options and they were pretty full when we arrived so would recommend making reservations!

Fantastic cocktails and small plates. Bit of an experimental edge to traditional offerings was refreshing and tasty. Full, with two cocktails each and desert for a couple, for $140.

Really overpriced for the quality, compared to other restaurants in this price point. Small portions. Some good flavors (Mushroom Bao) but other dishes kind of muddled and confused. Miso squash—chintzy portion despite being a main—swimming in oil or butter with crispy shallots (despite saying I didn’t want onion in whatever I ordered), a cashew cream and pepoers, but with no discernible taste of miso and the squash undercooked and tough on the edges.

Good mocktail. Good service. But 50$ for dinner that was underwhelming vs a magnificent meal I just had at Bar Kismet for the same price. Try elsewhere.

Pretty decent spot with interesting food options. Seating is rather limited - even with a reservation we were seated at the bar, which was kind of uncomfortable. Service was adequate. The charcuterie board was tasty, but also pretty large despite being included in the “sorta hungry” part of the menu, so bring a very empty stomach if you want it.

Absolutely wonderful experience end-to-end from Field Guide. This was our second time visiting Field Guide for dinner, and it was just as good as the first, if not better.

We chose bar seats right in front of the open tiny kitchen and enjoyed chatting with the cooks during service. Everyone - The bartender, the hosts, and the cooks were personable, fun, and attentive.

The drinks were inventive and well balanced, exactly what I'd expect from an eclectic bar on Queen West in Toronto, but much closer to home. Food came out at a reasonable pace, which considering the size of the kitchen (Three cooks in something smaller than apartment kitchens I've had before! A single 30" Induction range!) is impressive. I'd say we made a mistake doing 6 of the larger plates between two people, but we managed to down it all. Everything was well balanced and approachable, with a huge focus put on texture - Incredibly well thought out from that standpoint.

We left completely satisfied and look forward to our next opportunity to visit. If more places took after Field Guide when it comes to hospitality and care, the world would be a better place.

Visited for the first time on a Saturday night with friends, and we were not disappointed! Food was amazing, especially the spinach gnocchi. I enjoyed the Invisible Gin cocktail. Also, shoutout to our amazing and knowledgeable server Cody! He was attentive and on the ball. Thanks Field Guide, we’ll be back!

This was hands down the best meal we have ever eaten. We travel around the world often and make eating our primary focus. Nowhere in Europe, Asia or America have we stumbled upon so many bites that just shut down the conversation and required us to close our eyes and quietly enjoy the meal. The pork belly was the favorite of the night. It is astounding to see the whole restaurant cooked for on just one small stove! Incredible.
