First Choice Haircutters

I got a staph infection right after they shaved my head and they did nothing to make it right. Will never be going back and suggest you don’t go there either.

Nice little place, served as soon as I walked in. Early morning. Lady trimmed my hair exactly as I asked. Think her name is Muella (sorry, didn't catch spelling).

Hair dressers were professional and ready to serve. Clients came in without appointments but they were questioning in.

I was so impressed with the service at First Choice in Clayton Park. Harir is a wonderful stylist and person. I went in for a full head bleach and she was very concerned about achieving the best results possible while maintaining the integrity of my hair. The results were fantastic! I find it depends much more on the person than the price point. I have spent hundreds of dollars to walk away disappointed. Harir is a both a very talented stylist and a great listener! 10/10.

It took me 15 years living in Halifax to find a stylist worth returning to! Alas, she has been hiding at the Clayton Park Plaza First Choice! Her name is Marli, and whether you are looking for a simple cut or a full chop- Marli's awesome energy and incredible skills will have you leaving happy with your hair. She also understands how to cut hair in order for it to grow out evenly- so the style holds until you decided to return for a trim! You cant deny the skill!

I can confidently say, this barber shop is the best in Clayton park. Here are the top 3 reasons:

- #1: Wait Time don’t exist here, even if they do it’s like 5 minutes even though they say it’ll take 1 hour. Don’t worry they’re just pulling your leg.

#2: Their Customer Service is a 10/10. They are very nice and helpful.

#3: their prices are also very good compared to other barbers in the area.

They used to have a location beside dominos in parkland drive but they closed that one and opened this one. This one is much more modern and simple. You just feel calm and relaxed in this place.

Harir is a very talented and an awesome stylist, highly recommend! First Choice is a great place with reasonable prices and wonderful friendly staff.

Unfortunately, every time I went here, I had a bad cut. I left, and put my hat on almost every time. I switched to Tommy Gunns, and never looked back. I give three stars because the people were always so friendly and prompt to help.

They are doing good haircut, hairdressing. They are confident and are able to easily relate to the people.

Reasonably priced, can’t remember the name of the lady who cut my hair, but she did a fantastic job! Gave me exactly what I was looking for. Will return here for future haircuts.

My experience with First choice is outstanding. Haircut was done by Angela. She is such a sweet and professional hair stylist. She did best fade according to instructions. I completely satisfied and appreciate her work. Please come and get services.

I took my 2 year old here for a haircut and it was not a good experience. The stylist did not make any efforts to warm up to him, to ease him into an experience that was new to him. She came at him with the water bottle which immediately made him wince and pull away. She made no efforts to distract him. When he would look down at the hair as it was falling on the floor or turn his head to look at a noise in another direction, she would say “look forward” “look straight ahead” “the more you move your head the longer this is going to take “. These are statements that a 2 year old cannot comprehend. And also, you can’t reason with a 2 year old. I asked if there was anything I could do to help. I basically got a grunt for an answer. Another colleague of hers offered to show him her clippers and she said “it won’t make a difference “. She never once referred to him by his name. I’m not an expert in dealing with toddlers but I think calling them by their name might help build a rapport and help accomplish the job. She tried to do around his ears but he flinched every time she attempted and so she eventually gave up. Worst experience ever. I should have turned around when I walked in and saw the sign in the window that said “reduced hours due to staff shortages”.

Great service! Hareer cut my hair with a lot of attention to detail and care. She is very kind and she listened to my specifications on how I wanted my haircut. I'll definitely come back.
