First Choice Haircutters

I've been taking my girls (3yo and 5yo) here for the past 2.5 years. I haven't had a great experience the past two times I've gone to this location. I requested a bang trim and a cut off the length of their hair. I've always been charged $10 for this and it takes 5 min for each of them. The last two times I have been charged $48.50 for the same service for both of my girls. When I confronted the worker about this she had a visibly poor attitude and her response was, "they got a whole haircut". My girls also had hair all over their face and in their eyes. Needless to say I'll be changing up locations.

Right from the start the stylist who did my hair was quite rude, she had called my name and at first i didn't hear her because i have been having some hearing problems lately and i think thats what put her in her mood.she was pulling my head back while she was brushing through my hair and kept telling telling me to put my head foward in a rude tone, at one point she grabbed my head and kinda jerked it foward instead of asking me to move my head again, at that point i just wanted to stand up and leave because i was getting really annoyed but obviously couldn't do that.she used thinning shears on my hair which she did not ask if i wanted which i did not, it was also painful when she was using them which was very unpleasant

The hair cutter was rude I was just trying to experiment some stuff because I'm trying new styles and she kept getting mad at me when I said shorter or do this or that. Didn't enjoy this at all and I need barber my guy.

I wanted to spend the money from my first pay check with excitement, which was ruined the moment I sat in the chair for a haircut. The stylist complained the entire time for how tangled my long hair was. (The reason why I was getting a haircut in the first place) not to mention, she was being rude every two seconds. My haircut is not what I wanted and definitely not levelled. And guess what, I still had to pay her a 18% tip for this.

I would give zero stars if I could. Came in on April 10 for a very, very basic, straight length hair trim. Halfway through my 8 minute haircut, the woman makes a comment that the left side of my head is SO much longer than the right (this is not true, my last haircut was 6 months ago and was done by a professional). Too late, as she was already chopping. The left side of my hair is now NOTICEABLY shorter, and I also somehow have half of an inverted bob on the left side, and my right side is straight.

Very disappointed I'll now have to visit my normal stylist and pay oodles of money for her to fix this, and it'll make my hair much shorter: which is also disappointing, given that I told the woman yesterday that I was in the process of growing it out.

Do not go here. Unable to perform basic straight, one length trims.

Worse haircut of my life. Just wanted a blunt cut and style but my hair is crooked and have long pieces hair hanging that I’ve tried to cut off. Have a chunk of hair cut out on side of hair which is so noticeable. I’ve been going for years & loved the place, won’t be going back. It was a new stylist but I didn’t think a blunt cut could be messed up

Bree only works Sundays, so we always make sure catch her then.
She is amazing, best stylist I have ever had, she's the best and we love her.

The dye on my hair was darker than my natural hair color, but I'd asked for the same color, just for my roots.

I walked out of there with an absolutely botched haircut.i asked for layers and the woman seemed so up for it.obviously.she can’t do layers.it’s so uneven and i’m embarrassed to even show myself.if your not properly trained to do something, don’t do it.

Only 2-3 workers that know how to cut mens hair. Short sides, longer top. I feel like I was violated by a weed wacker.

My boyfriend went in for a simple mens cut - shorter on the sides, longer on top and ended up with super uneven pieces on top and the back. It was also cut way too short on the top/back of his head and not blended at all. She didn't even ask him if he liked the haircut and just took off the cape and walked away to ring him in. He had hair allover his face and neck too.

On top of that she charged him way more than it should've been and because they don't know how to use their machines they "couldn't" refund on his card. I've worked with these machines, sorry but you CAN.

I refuse to get my own haircut at First Choice and should've told him the same.

Will never be back. Brutal

My daughter's first hair cut went extremely well. The stylist was professional, kind, and didn't talk down to her - and on top of it all, did a terrific job with her hair - definitely going again, the experience for her was exactly what we wanted.

Robin was my salon specialist. She is fast and completed the haircut exactly like what I wanted. The shop is fairly large and there is ample space for following social distance. All workers wear masks properly. The experience was very good. Will visit again happily.

This is definitely a 'cross your fingers' kind of chain, but overall I've had pretty good luck with First Choice visits. Most stylists are passionate about their work, are eager to practice/learn or are quite seasoned. Ladies cuts aren't typically very affordable, I bring some photos and roll the dice with who I get - usually I leave with a totally acceptable $30 cut after tip.

The lady made my bangs so messy! She didn't even cut a bit of my bangs on one side.messed up my side hair and the back. And on top of that, i left with my hair wet! She didn't even blow dry my hair. Terrible!

Mary is my hairdresser and she's the best. Always satisfied, and I've been going to Mary for about 15 years. She's very friendly and very nice to her clients. No complaints about Firstchoice.

Great staff however their online booking app isn't user friendly. Every time I try to book an appointment I can't find it. Other then that it's a great place to get a haircut. I would recommend.

Awesome hair but just the way I asked for it to be done. Turned out great. Stylist Tammy did a great job. I will certainly be back.

They are great there! Covid 19 precautions are taken and staff are great. I always get a.great.cut when I go.

Great place, very friendly. Did superb job on Christina, s cut and dye job with a very reasonable price tag.

It's fine. Walk In appointments built on a model of quick in and out. If you want basic efficient hair cuts this is a decent place. If you want anything super fancy look for something more expensive with more consistent reviews

Very busy Saturday and still got us in in about 30 min.
My 2 year old has an absolute melt down at the mention of a haircut. We got Stephanie who had just finished another little boys hair.
I offered to let my son sit in the seat he full on refused she said he could sit on my lap.
She managed a pretty good trim on a kid who wouldn't move his face away from my chest.
Gave a $5 tip for her patience and friendly demeanor as well as the skill to deal with a terrified toddler

The lady who cut my hair today butchered it completely, it’s awful, the bangs aren’t straight, she gave me a fringe when I have side bangs usually, the back looks like a cube (I have short hair that’s usually shaven with a fade in the back) keep in mind all I asked for was a trim, oh and she tried to cut my clipped hair with scissors. I’ve had it done twice here before with no problems, not impressed, now I have to live with it for a few weeks. The staff were nice about it though! They said they’ll fix it for free but not much can really be done, it’s too late.

My last few haircuts here have been disappointing and there are cheaper places to get a basic haircut.

Sima is great! It's so relaxing sitting in her chair. She's particular about cutting hair and super friendly.

I only ever bring my son here (since problems elsewhere) and usually Shannon cuts his hair. She does an awesome job!

Not really pleased with my haircut I got home and after I showered I had to trim some spots that got missed. Really disappointed felt like I could do better myself.
