Five Guys

I can't say enough good things about Five Guys! The food was absolutely delicious, and the staff went above and beyond to make my nephew's 4th Birthday lunch extra special. They were incredibly attentive and made sure everything was perfect for our celebration. Thank you, Five Guys, for making it a memorable experience!

One of the kitchen staff was very rude. We were just reading their menu then one of the staff raised his voice, telling us to line up properly. When we said we were just looking at the menu, he yelled at us again to say that other people might line up behind us but there was no one there.

He could have politely asked us to line up, but nope. That’s when we decided to leave. Not worth it!

The food is expensive, but a burger and fries can easily be split between 2 people! Food is always fresh, the milkshakes are amazing.and all the workers are always kind and have smiles on their faces. The restaurant is always super clean as well!

Chips were mostly small. Food is more expensive than should be for fast food burger. Music is too loud and it socks. Not cleaning tables often.

The food was great but when we went in an hour before closing the staff informed us we couldn’t eat inside. The facility was cleaned and the staff didn’t want people sitting at the tables and their milkshake machine was “broken”. I suspect it was already cleaned and they didn’t want to clean it again since the peanuts were also put away. I think all services including dine in should be available before closing and final clean up should happen after close. I’d be more understanding if it was even 15-20 minutes before close but an hour seems excessive.

Counter guy was very friendly. Did a great job too. Unfortunately, when there is only one cash register open, the cashier still has to make the shakes and other things as well. This means customers sometimes wait a while (with burgers in hand), for their shake. Not that big of a deal. I find MacDonald's to be the biggest offender of the overworked one cashier.

Our burgers were good. Our shake good too. Love the shakes there. My two fav shakes are coffee and malt. They did not have either flavour today. I hope those flavours are not gone for good!

Wonderful service everytime! Very friendly atmosphere with great food! They use 100% peanut oil which makes the fries soooo crispy!

I tried five guys for the first time today. We all had bacon burgers and we all agreed. They were great. They have lots of options for toppings so you can really get exactly what you want. I'll definitely be stopping here again. The young gentleman at the cash was very helpful and made some great recommendatiins regarding portion sizes when we were ordering.

The service here is beyond friendly, the portions are hilariously big and the price is not much more than MDs or Wendy's. You just can't beat this place. Only negative thing is they are just as generous with the fry salt as they are the portion sizes, so sometimes it's a little much.

An absolute must for those times when you’re just craving for some not-so-healthy food. We got two little hamburgers with the works and jalapeño and fries to share for $21. It was sooo good to satisfy the hunger. Clean and spacious dine in area. Washroom area is all gendered and has stalls and the sink area is shared. Too bad they don’t serve free peanuts anymore due to the pandemic. Beware, for those who are allergic to peanuts, their food is made with peanut oil.

Covid protocols followed. Staff were helpful, accommodating and quick. Meals were good and the restaurant was clean.

I would not recommend eating in at this restaurant as my brief encounter there left me shocked. I didn't see a single employee wiping down any of tables before sitting down. And sure before Covid that would have been a little less distressing but now it is a health concern. The floor was sticky almost everywhere. I would not recommend eating in at this restaurant while the pandemic is still active.

The burgers here are fantastic, when getting fries try the cajun spice. Super friendly staff with fast service.

It's fast food but maybe a notch or two above the usual, and the price reflects that as well. The experience is different from your typical fast food as well. Their burgers are pretty good and closer to home style than, say, MacDonald's.

We enjoyed the food thoroughly. Burgers were cooked perfectly and the toppings, though customizable, were standard fare but done well. The fries - they aren't kidding when they say you get a lot. And they're well seasoned and delicious. Finally, we also tried a shake - chocolate/peanut butter/salted caramel. Maybe the highlight of the trip.

Not really much pricier than a fast food drive-thru meal, so if and when we get the hankering for a greasy burger and fries, Five Guys will be near the top of the list.

Inside is very clean, food is good quality, and service is reasonably quick. You choose your own toppings for your burger. They also post where their potatoes for their fries are from, which is cool. Wide variety of milkshakes too.

Good service and fast in spite of being quite busy. Tons of great fries. Burgers are diner style and properly greasy and loaded with toppings.

Burgers are very well made! They are fast as one can be making them fresh! Milkshakes are to die for If I could suggest making them come out around the same time that would be the only thing I would change

Expected better service. I found out at home that I didn’t receive my fries in my take out bag.

Great burgers, much simpler than other burger joints around, but what they do they do great. Fantastic milkshakes as well, and you get lots of fries with each meal.

Gluten free options are skeptical at best. Tried it twice, they do their best, but I wonder if there is some cross contamination. Both times, my wife exhibited signs on contamination. We will try again as the food is soooooo amazing!

A friend and I showed up for lunch here one day around noon on a Wednesday in January, and the placed was lined up right to the door about 20 people deep, with most tables taken. So we left and came back another day at 11: 30, and luckily there were only a couple of people left in line and lots of free tables still. There are some booths, some higher tables with higher chairs, regular tables, etc and probably overall seating for 50? Lots of staff working in the kitchen, which is open enough to see. I tried the bacon cheese dog with the works, which was good, but not unique in any way. The online menu doesn't list prices, so I assume each location of the franchise can set its own prices within a range. It doesn't list menu items in the standard 'combo' way that most fast food joints do, but just separately. I had a small or regular fries which were good. Also a peanut butter milkshake which was delicious. My friend had the bacon cheeseburger and said the same thing, it was definitely good, but not unique. He also enjoyed his chocolate shake. I don't believe they asked if the food was to go or to eat in, but we received a paper bag after waiting 6 or 7 minutes. Both fries tipped over inside the bag so it was a big mess and wouldn't be good if you wanted proper separation of whose fries are whose. We didn't care and just tore the bag open and ate from the same big pile. The bill came to $48 which is insane for a fast food meal, but I'd still go back again and try something else.

If you haven't tried this shake yet I definitely recommend it. Chocolate, peanutbutter, bananas, and cherries OR strawberries. You can thank me later.

Five Guys is probably the original higher end burger place that most Haligonians were comparing against our local versions. The burgers are quite good, and the fries are fantastic and plentiful. The prices are still fairly high for a burger and fries, but damn of it isn't good. Definitely worth checking out, or for quenching that desire for a harder to find US chain.
