Four Points by Sheraton Halifax

Very bad hotel, rooms are super noisy (ventilation, heating, fridge), the breakfast is nothing, they can't provide you the adaptor for the socket, laundry is a horror, waiting for my closes 4th day, Wi-Fi connects from the 15th attempt the speed is around 10 Mbts, snack bar has only chips chocolate and no beer.

Great location but couldn’t do any work because if the wifi issues. Staff said the issues have been going on since the summer. Use to love staying here but now it’s quite outdated.

This place is located conveniently downtown. Everything is close by. The rooms are okay but were expensive. Promixity to downtown and all the amenities was probably the reason. The staff were very polite and professional. Check in and check out were a breeze. The restaurant is on the 4th floor and is was pretty good. I'd stay here again for sure.

A nice hotel right in the heart of downtown Halifax. Perfect location. Comfy bed. Underground parking (for a fee). The front desk staff were super kind and helpful. The pool/gym area weren’t the nicest, and the « breakfast » spread was pretty dismal, but overall I had a great stay here!

Front desk staff are excellent! Allowed myself and husband to check in to our room early and upgraded our room for our anniversary. Then provided us with a complimentary gift card. Wonderful service and nice clean room. I would definitely recommend!

Stayed here for 74 days! Staff went more than above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Highly recommend!

In bad need of an upgrade with the rooms and elevators. The hotel really needs a front entrance for cars dropping off their luggage and checking in.

Spent almost 800$ for two nights and extremely disappointed. Room was smelling like dirty socks. When we complaint about it and asked for room freshner we were told that they don’t have one. Would you believe it? A Marriott chain hotel doesn’t have a 2$ room freshner lol. I feel like I wasted my money, I will never stay again in this particular branch at least.

Very nice hotel. So close to the waterfront, a less than 5 minute walk. So many restaurants or cafes or food stalls nearby within walking distance. The staff is super friendly and helpful.

Under ground parking only at hotel.but great tourist place close to water front. Walkin distance.clean building.ac in rooms.

Centrally located downtown with only a short walk to the pier. Very clean and room was spacious. Front desk check in and checkout were fast and efficient. Parking underground was quite cheap as well.

Honestly one of the most outdated and dingy hotels I’ve stayed at and probably the most expensive as well. The location is the only good thing about this place. Found multiple cleanliness issues, many amenities were not available during our stay and felt like we were in a one star 50$ a night motel. Don’t recommend and will not be back.

Room was dirty - dog smell …. Restaurant closed on arrival in a weekday at 4 pm and told that a 4 day stay our room would be cleaned once. Never again!

This hotel is centrally located in Halifax within easy walking distance to a wide variety of restaurants and other attractions. The service staff were exceptional! Rooms were fairly standard, nothing to write home about. Some rooms would have excellent views, sadly mine had a view on to the vacant inner courtyard. This was not, during my stay, a quiet hotel as there were some rather rambunctious guests. All in all no real complaints, but the only compliment I have is for the truly kind, understanding, patient, and helpful staff.

Check-in was fast and efficient. Room is quite nice. The is a sports bar on the 4th floor. Now just need to discover the city

The receptionists were nice, room was clean and very comfy, and they recommended an airport cab driver that was fantastic! Great experience.

Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable and the staff are wonderful. Underground parking available as well.

Perfect location if you want to experience and explore downtown Halifax. The staff were fantastic and rooms were clean. Will definitely stay here again.

The best Four Points we've ever stayed in! Incredibly friendly and helpful staff, very spacious and very comfortable rooms, perfect location.

The staff and the service they provided was pretty great. The location is also great! Otherwise, the rooms need some serious TLC. You can see water damage on the bathroom ceiling, walls are dirty and the tub does not drain very well. During a 15 minute shower, the water was almost to my knees and took about an hour after i finished to drain. The staff was nice enough to let us check out at around 4 or 5 pm as the pool was not clean enough to be used due to a filter issue and we really just booked the hotel to introduce our little one to swimming and have our first family staycation. We were not charged for that second night.

Great location. Steps from the Alexander Keith Brewery and a block to the Halifax waterfront. Reasonable rates. Super friendly staff.

I've stayed several times at this property. Really can't beat the location. So centrally located to everything in Halifax.

I would not like to revisit this hotel. No breakfast was still okay but dirty washrooms at this price is unacceptable. Even I requested room service, they did not change the bed sheet. Cleaning is an issue. I dont know how mariott can certify this place. Not at all upto the mark. But giving three starts as it is better than a motel or an inn, and also it provides a free coffee which is of good quality

Location was amazing but I think it was too loud for our liking. We heard doors opening and closing all night and no microwave in the room. Did have underground parking and a great rooftop bar

Had a guest beside our room making horrible amount of noise partying multiple people in room late several times over an hour to have staff come up and speak to the people in room which did not help situation for some time also the water in the room smelled so foul of algae you could not shower in it

Second stay here in the past few months. Had returned to them because first stay went well. Stayed 3 nights this time. Front counter fellow was much more arrogant this stay. Drinks charged to the room that we did not charge. Zero explanation given when we enquired about it. Had informed staff we were staying another day as I left the hotel for work. They then called the room 3 times and sent staff members up to the room badgering the lady that was with me for payment although they had more than enough of a deposit to retain the room with. They had my direct number to call me at anytime but didn't bother. Continually called the woman I was with my wife when we are not together and we had a double bed room. Not to mention we had said we weren't a couple when we arrived. Just didn't seem to lack the care that they had the first time I stayed. Spent nearly 800 dollars with them in a few days to almost feel like we were looked down upon. Beyond all that cleaning staff were very friendly and quite helpful with anything needed. They could almost consider who they have running the front desk and who is cleaning the rooms. Maybe it would have been a warmer welcome!

The stars are for the location and comfort of the beds.those are awesome. Room 2013 was set up with 1 towel, 1 fc, 1 bath mat and bathrooms items for one, though there were two people. No bodywash in the dispenser. Two hours later, no delivery of more items. A 2nd call was required.
Lighting in room is seriously lacking. Bathtub tile needs a deep scouring. Sink is cracked. Bathroom fan is simply noise.it doesn't do the job.

Taking the stairway was horrible as it is nasty and reeks of cigarettes.

Really surprised by this lackluster stay.

The room was perfect! Only downfall was the limited amount of options for TV channels and the internet was too poor to run my chromecast

The hotel is not the most luxurious, but we had a nice clean room, and our wish to be far from the elevator and on a high floor was respected (with a two-week-old baby, we prefer tranquility). The welcome we received was extraordinary; the staff at the front desk made sure that we had a perfect stay and that our needs were met.

Main street was one storey below my window (perpetual traffic noise) and on third floor next to elevator. People partied outside the elevators until 4 in the morning. Went to the bar and it was packed with people from outside the hotel. Could not get food or a drink. Probably will not stay there again.

Stayed there for my birthday over the labour day long weekend. Great Hotel. Great Staff. One thing tho that ruined my stay “No Bath Mat” in the shower. Slipped and almost broke my @ss. That was the one thing that ruined my 4day stay.

Bath mats should be mandatory. Never stayed at a hotel that didn’t provide bath maths for the shower. Wasn’t expecting this.

Such a clean hotel and close to everything. Parked the car in their convenient parking garage and walked everywhere. Chris on the front desk was such a pleasure to deal with. Very accommodating. We will definitely recommend and be return guests

We were excited about the location of this hotel but it was a bit disappointing to us. We had to pay an extra $25 for parking, which wasn't clear when I booked it. The light fixtures were different colours, the bathtub was dirty/rusty, and there were no items for purchase in the fridge. There was a beer garden outside our window and it was quite loud. Thank goodness it rained around 10pm and most of the people cleared out. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it but we slept well so there's that.

Excellent location of the hotel in the center of city. Good food and good hospitality by the management the rooms are really great and in the good size. The rates are really great! The parking is really spacious!

Uncomfortable beds, uncomfortable pillows, one elevator out of two was not working and it took forever to be able to get to your floor, or to come down to the lobby. Stairs are not conveniently placed either and they don’t take you to the lobby, so still need to wait on the stupid elevator. During peak hours, staff was using the elevators with carts which made everything that much more frustrating. Zero out of ten. Would not recommend staying here. The only plus is that the showers have soap/shampoo/conditioner dispensers instead of the wasteful little bottles.

Not very modern. The room we were in was smaller then we were used to. The wall paper looked like it was there for a long time. My wife and I wont be going back to that hotel. The price per night was not worth the money. Also had to pay for parking which we thought should of been included in the price but was not. It was 25.00 a night.

Great experience here during the pandemic. Many precautions were put in place, which made me feel more safe during this pandemic.

We have had positive experience with Four Points before in numerous locations in the States but this one was not our favorite experience since the reopening. Understandably not all services are available right now, but the management did not make it any easier either.
There is usu three sets of towels available per room in most hotels, here we only had two which we quickly went through the first day. There were no tees or coffees available in the room which was a disappointment and has nothing to do with pandemic. Thankfully we had our own teabags but there were no coffee cups to go under the small coffee machines in the room so we had to hold a tall coffee mug under the machine for 5 min to get half a cup of hot water plus a big mess around the machine.
What most bothered me actually was the musty smell in the room! Not sure if this was due to underused rooms during the lockdown or because it was an older building. It was not noticeable upon entrance but a short while after and especially around the bed area there was a continuous earthy odor. Sheets smelled ok so not sure where it came from. I have been to Marriott’s residence inn and Holiday Inn since the reopening. Both were better in towels, food service and cleaning.
In general fairly disappointed in this Four Points.

Definitely up there as one of the best mid-priced hotels in the city. I've always found it to be a Class Act and very clean. Location is RIGHT in downtown Halifax, but not in a noisy part of town, which definitely counts, lol! Close to EVERYTHING in the city core and waterfront. Recommended!

Underground parking lot did not fit my truck.so had to drive around to find a spot in downtown Halifax. Not fun pool and hottub not open.like other hotels using covid as excuse? Busy noisy street with view of apartment building across it? Soaker tub and staff were really nice.

We stay there on Sunday night, when we arrive the pool was shut down and on top of that no internet which I had to uses my data which cost me money. Wasn’t even offer a hotel comp for the inconvenience. The internet was down for the whole stay. Was not happy. Not sure I will stay there again.

I love staying at this hotel. The staff is friendly, courteous and helpful and the beds are super comfy!

The front desk staff was very friendly. We did not get the room we thought we had reserved. The front desk staff tried to give us the room I thought I had reserved with the whirlpool and we were given a door key to the new room. Unfortunately, we almost walked in on people already staying in that suite.luckily they had the door locked from the inside. We go back down to the front desk and we were given the old room at a cheaper rate and comp for the underground parking. That was very appreciated! The room itself did not look like the picture from website.very big with little stuff in the room.essentially a king size room with large floor space. We were told manager would be in contact with us to talk about getting the room we wanted at a later date and it would be courtesy of the hotel. I've tried to call twice this week and have left messages both times.still haven't heard anything. Just wanted to get confirmation on that last promise. It was not the best date night away from the kids after all that! Then the restaurant was closed for Heritage Day! Luckily, other restaurants in the city were open!

Comfiest bed I've ever slept in with weighted duvet. Very clean. Fast and friendly room service. Disliked mirrors around jacuzzi but otherwise, all positive feelings about our room and stay. Front desk staff was super friendly and pleasant. Located in downtown Halifax so lots of bars, pubs, restaurants (and casino) within short walking distances. Highly recommend.

Not good not going back there no pool out of order raining all weekend looking forward to the pool no glasses in room no cups for coffee fridge not working 1 face cloth for 4 people

Room was in bad shape, the AC system was leaking, my room was not cleaned when I showed up after work the 3 nights I spent there. There are many hotels in Halifax in this price range that offer better rooms and services.

The customer service in this hotel is extremely disappointing. I travel 150 nights per year and I will never return to this hotel due to my experience

My experience was very satisfactoy, but my parents didnt have the best one. One of the days we stayed there, they didn't clean their bathroom and didn't change the towels. Besides that, very good place, the service by the personel was very kind and helpful.

Not a bad hotel overall but needs some upgrading to it overall. Our stay over 4 nights was pleasant other than for the fact our room was located near the services utilities room and the noisy, less than mindful overnight service teams with rumbling laundry buckets at 3: 30am for over an hour that we had to deal with and the off time room cleaning that thou we were out for most of the morning and afternoon decides 5pm is a good time to try to clean.

Great location. Does not serve complimentary breakfast, but it is connected to Niche, a restaurant and bar.

Great hotel right in the heart of Halifax. Super staff, both friendly and professional. Hotel restruant is the best. Probably had the best seafood chowder there that I have ever had. The only down side of the stay was parking. Cost me $44 plus tax for 2 nights parking. I would have to call that a little too much! All in all was great, and would repeat

Got stuck in an elevator for 40 minutes with 14 other people. We were not over any of the max limits and did not receive compensation

Good hotel with great location. Staff is friendly and efficient. Rooms are clean and well appointed. Our only concern is it takes a long time to get hot water in the shower and sink. Would stay again though

I really like the hotel room which included pool and jacuzzi downstairs but when I got downstairs the jacuzzi was filthy and had a brown ring right around it so needless to say I did not get in

Great hotel, great service. Lived here for a few weeks while I was moving and it was one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at.

Honestly one of the best hotels I've been to in the city, Reasonably priced and handy very handy to the downtown core and close to both indoor and outdoor public parking as well as offering it's own indoor parking
