Freeman's Little New York

Waitress ignores you for long periods of time. They don't list their non-alcoholic drinks, and when you ask what there is to drink the only answer they're willing to give is "pop or juice, " while refusing to elaborate. Awesome. Portions are great, super overpriced though.

Moved to HFX from NYC and the food and service are wonderful but we walked out and my companion was looking for the subway to get home

Always loved Freeman’s for supper and evening beers but just discovered they have a deadly brunch and was priced really well for me and my kids. My new go to for brunch for sure. Also only place I could find on Boxing Day open.

The Greek wrap was great! Fries and “potato skin” (more like a wedge poutine) were incredibly salty but that’s fair for a pub style eatery. Cozy atmosphere.

I went to Freeman’s yesterday. Waited 15 mins, there was no one on the front counter. Finally I went to a waitress to ask if they have space available, she asked us to sit on any available seat with very unwelcoming way. We ordered food and there was a really long hair in my pasta, our waitress was not around so I asked someone else to take my plate back, they took it back and never came back. Our waitress came in and we explained her, she took the pasta back. At that point we just started having our food and expecting pasta to be re-served. She came back will our bill and said food is on house & we can just pay for drink. It’s not always that money resolve things, she didn’t even gave us the food back or asked if we wanna order something else. Technically we had no food yesterday, I felt like they were not interested in serving us. I understand you may have a difficult job but we came for food and went home after 2 hours hungry. Thats a very poor experience, I would never go back.

I like Freeman’s a lot, but I am disappointed that their gluten-free options have significantly diminished recently.

I usually order from here however people that work there need to be schooled on the menu- I called and asked if I could get tarter sauce- just to confirm, as some restaurants don’t include unless you ask- and the person said no taziki sauce, I was puzzled - then told me the donair pizza didn’t come with donair sauce? What?
Obviously it did once I received it but what if I had of ordered some and paid? Now it wouldn’t break the bank but I’m just saying- this could if detered a sale too-

Gluten free pizza crust is the best we’ve had. No aftertaste and great texture. Pizza sauce is also punchy and rich. Place is clean with nice bar type atmosphere. Service was excellent too.

Freeman's is always such a great place to go either at the end of the night, to celebrate a special occasion or just to have a drink

Food is always 10/10

Now this place does me right all the time. Though I must say that I tried a few meals like that burger with the peanut butter on it and absolutely hated it. But that was my fault for trying new shiii. Everything else that I have had from here is good. Y’all are pricey as hell though and the quantity for that chowder need to get better

Pizza is a thin crust and very nicely done. Pretty much anything you really need on a beer is on tap or in a bottle. Sure, the atmosphere looks like it came out of the 50s or 60s, but that's why you go there.

The place has an atmosphere to watch a good game and have a beer. Also to enjoy a delicious meal in the company of someone.

It was a good experience eating here, the staff is very friendly and cooperative. The customer service of Sim Was really nice

We went for a late night but to eat, the restaurant was nice and cozy, we seated and the waiter got us out drinks and took our order a lady brought us our food and we never see The waiter for the rest of the night no did he ask us if we wanted another drink or how our food was absolutely nothing from him all night we had to get a lady server to tell him that we would like the bill and she told the guy that we wanted to pay but he didn’t acknowledge us but continued to talk for another table for about 10 mins and we finally had to go to the bar to pay so we could leave, while the food and atmosphere was good the set was poor.

100% Recommend to anyone new to Halifax from a bigger city looking to get quality food and vibe.

If you're driving, street parking can be a big issue

Terrible service. Waiter brought the wrong drink, and when we asked for the mistake to be fixed, he did not apologize and literally slammed the new drink on the table, so hard it fizzed up everywhere. Didn't get checked on a single time after ordering, although the tables around us did multiple times. Won't be returning. Food wasn't bad though, just terrible service.

I've always loved this location for various reasons, never disappoints. But today gf and I went for some lunch/beers and had the best server. Super friendly and professional, very knowledgeable about the menu, and charismatic. She seemed to really enjoy her job and was very good at it! Food was fast, delicious, plated well, and very filling for a reasonable price. Tables and facilities were very clean and well maintained.

We came to celebrate my sons 7th birthday and the pizza was great, the service was great and the value was amazing! As a delightful surprise, our server did a few phenomenal magic tricks after our meal! It was a lovely surprise and really made our day. Thanks so much for such a lovely and memorable experience!
