It's games workshop, you come in and right off the bat you'll probably notice it was a block buster in the old days. Now it's a wonderfully decorated hobby shop where you can buy, paint, and play all while having endless conversations with the staff, I've been going to this store since I was a small lad back when warhammer fantasy was big. Fond memories here.

They only specialize in one thing, Warhammer. They must be selling a ton online because the Halifax Warhammer community is not only few and far between (compared to other games), but also only purchases these expensive sets once in a very blue moon. Don't even try to mention Magic The Gathering or else they will give you an annoyed, been asked a thousand times response. I think it's about time they diversified their extremely niche product line because you can buy these things for cheaper online, unless you want to hire someone to paint your space ranger's pants blue. Games workshop should take out a page from the deck box's playbook to stay relevant. Maybe the owner is just filthy rich and doesn't care about profit or entrepreneurship. Maybe the store is a front and we are the dumb ones. These are of course, all theories but, one thing is certain.this place only sells Warhammer, and that community lives 2 levels underneath MTG's mother's basement. I give them one star for participation, and one star for surviving next to pizza pizza and job junction. Hopefully they will need only one of these businesses.

Had my first visit to this store today as someone very new to the hobby. I first called and spoke to a staff member named Dan about how to preorder a box of minis going live today - he kindly offered to assist in-store and when I arrived, lol and behold, it turned out there were two Dans working today lol. Both were extremely helpful and kind. Thanks to both from a newbie.

Went here for the first time to get my first taste of the hobby buying my first box of Space Marines, the codex book for Space Marines, paint and glue.

That should have been in and out in 10-15 minutes ey? Nah I was there for almost 4 hours watching a thrilling match between two friends, talking to customers and workers about my future army I plan to build, had really insightful conversations, and even learned to play the game a bit. The environment is SUPER welcoming, everyone was beyond kind kland knowledgeable. Loved my time here and can't wait to get into the hobby even more, this store blew my mind and showed me how great the 40K community is. 5/5!

Attached are photos of the amazing displays, a game I watched, and my haul I took home with a big smile lol.

Not a great experience. Been into mini painting for a bit, and dropped in to look into expanding my paint collection into Citadel. Sales staff were pretty aggressive on entry (don’t want to list which specific paints I’m shopping for immediately on entry) and just stared at me while I was browsing. Left quickly where it was super uncomfortable. Very unlikely to go back. Went directly to HFX Games in Dartmouth and had a much friendlier experience; I spent some coins there instead.

If you're curious or interested in hobby painting or miniatures then this is clearly the spot to be. Lots of options and friendly staff.
