Gangnam Korean BBQ Halifax

A constant favourite of mine, whether ordering in or going out to eat! I love to have 곰탕 when I'm feeling under the weather. I've had many items from the menu and am never disappointed!

Gangnam Korean BBQ Halifax offers an exceptional dining experience! Their signature hotstone Bibimbap is a true delight, bursting with authentic flavors and cooked to perfection. Our recent visit was made even more special with complimentary tea and delectable dumplings, elevating the overall experience. It’s not just about the delicious food but also the warm and welcoming atmosphere that keeps us coming back for more!

I recently made it into downtown to try the food at Gangnam. My friend and I split the Royal Rice Cakes and I had the Vegetable Japchae and while they were both excellent I think the Japchae is the most delicious thing I've ever eaten in my life. The texture, aroma, and flavor were all perfect and it arrived piping hot.

I hate going downtown but I'll be back for more of that!

Small menu for grill. Chicken, bugolgi, LA Kalbi and pork belly or combo of any 2 or all. However the taste and flavor were superb.
Kalbi tang (beef rib soup) was one of the best compared to US or most of Asia outside Korea. Combo grill for 2, soup, bottle of soju and a saporo $112 + tip.

Cannot beat this place. Nice to find authentic Korean in Halifax!

Went in for dinner. The waitress was so rude to me for being a party of 1. The restaurant was 75% empty but she wouldn't let me sit where I wanted and told me I should eat fast then because it could get busy. I used to eat here often, I won't go back!

The service was kind and efficient, the meal was hot and savoury, and the price was truly good value for the quality of food.

We tried the bulgogi, the spicy chicken, and the Kimchi soup and the word ‘delicious’ was tossed around the table many times.

I highly recommend this restaurant for authentic Korean dishes.

There is not a doubt in my mind that Gangnam Korean BBQ (barrington street) possesses the most extraordinary Korean BBQ on the peninsula. Apart from the delectable selection of meat included in the BBQ, Gangnam also provides brilliant collection of tradition native cuisine including my favourite: chashu ramen!

As soon as you walk in the smell of Korean BBQ hits you and you know it's going to be good! We are currently visiting Halifax for the first time and have been trying as many different places as we can. We love Korean BBQ and knew we had to try here. Giant portions of food, fresh and delicious, really nice staff as well. Food wasn't super expensive either!

I visited Gangnam Korean BBQ on Barrington st and was blown away by the incredible food and service. I got the chashu ramen and enjoyed it thoroughly. I can’t wait to go back and try their Korean BBQ. 10/10 recommend

Great spot. The food was better than a lot of the food I had in Korea. Friendly staff. Fast service. Nice atmosphere. And excellent air quality.

I had my friends together, eating Jjambong and jajang. Those were disgusting. Noodles were horrible. I won't go anymore.

Ordered Korean BBQ for 2 combo, wide range of selection on what comes with your combo, marinated chicken, marinated beef, short ribs, pork belly. Comes with appetizers for free, that's kimchi, pickled radish and bean sprout, small salad and miso soup, also comes with two bowl of rice in the combo. All for $50ish dollars and this has became the go to spot for me and the woman every month. One thing they could improve is the air circulation add some fans or something like that because you will smell like BBQ walking out of there.

As a connoisseur of Korean cuisine, I must say that the Korean BBQ restaurant located in the center of downtown Halifax is a standout establishment that truly excels in every aspect.

In conclusion, it is with the utmost conviction that I highly recommend this Korean BBQ restaurant to anyone seeking a truly exceptional dining experience. The combination of excellent service, authentic atmosphere, and delicious food make it a must-try for anyone in the Halifax area.

Wow, just wow. Not only does it smell fantastic in here when you walk in but the food is jus as amazing! We had the spicy seafood Ramen, chashu Ramen both spicy, assorted tempera and spicy rice cake, all 10/10 flavour wise and portion wise. Will definitely be back!

Wonderful experience. We were there yesterday (first time) for lunch. What a great surprise. Service was friendly and helpful with choosing the right dishes for us. Amazing flavour, generous portions and good price. We will be back for sure.

Had a wonderful lunch that was more than I expected and extremely authentic to even the Korean that went with us. I will warn you spicy is truly spicy here so be forewarned. That being said I’m not a spicy guy but I did have this average priced amazing Bulgogi. You could literally taste every vegetable cooked to perfection, the beef was to die for and the blend of flavours was on point along with the service. Thank you so much.

My family and I went and shared a few dishes. We were hoping for bbq but all the tables were busy and it was a 30 minute wait so we took a normal table instead. I got a black bean noodle dish (cant remember the name) my brother got ramen, my boyfriend got kimchi fried rice and my mom got something that i cant remember the name of. It was served in a cast iron (?) Bowl and it had bean sprouts, rice, fried egg, and some other things. We also got banana milk. My ratings are: ramen 10/10, black bean noodles 7/10, kimchi rice 4/10 (much to spicy for me haha) and the thing my mom got was 7.5/10, banana milk 8/10 (delcious but very small juice box size. The atmosphere was absolutely beautiful. The service was quite slow but we could tell the servers were doing their best so we didnt mind. The dishes were quite expensive but for someone wealthy this could be a good fit for you.

I walked in on a busy night without a reservation, really wanting a bowl of jjajiangmyun while downtown during a layover. They were so kind, fit me in, and served me the tastiest bowl of noodles I've ever had.

Food was good; was there with some colleagues from Korea and they commented on the authenticity of the dish we had.

This was so so good. The menu is large so definitely something for everyone. I will be back for sure. The spicy beef soup left me craving more! It was a large serving so I finished the rest today.a very welcome bonus. Ps.in and out in under an hour.

Reunited with a friend and chose this place to share some thoughts and experiences since we last met.
The place was cozy and the food was ok.
The sides were not half bad and most importantly the kimchi wasn't salty.
We both enjoyed dining and drinking Soju, unfortunately the Makgeollli (Makkoli) was not available today.
We ordered the LA Galbi which was the most expensive BBQ option but I personally rather to have an option of pork belly for one and I also preffer a very plain meat instead of the marinated one.
I highly recommend this location if you are interested in a long conversation while enjoying your food/drink.
