GoodLife Fitness Truro Queen and Elm

I recently moved from Toronto. Used to go to Planet Fitness. Recently took a membership here. Tbh I am really disappointed about everything.
1. It's so expensive. Does it even give satisfaction compared to what I am paying? No.
2. It's so small. I was expecting it to be big but not really. They do have all the machines but very limited.
3. People are nice. I feel comfortable and it's not usually that busy.

Overall it's fine.

This is a great gym. There's lots of equipment for whatever type of workout you're looking to complete on a given day, and the community of people that train there seem to be friendly. I liked the vibe here.

Also, the individual working the front desk while I was there. I think it was Satie (I hope I'm getting that right) was super friendly and I noticed her greeting a majority of members by name - can't beat that.

This is the place to train if you're in Truro.

Was recently in Truro and had a nice experience at the GoodLife Fitness there. All the stations were clean and in good working condition, there was always plenty of spray and towels for wiping down equipment. Anytime I was there, there were never any issues with waiting for equipment. If I was in the area again I would not hesitate to go back there.

They process payments even when you freeze your membership, but they do it in 2 or 3 transactions rather than 1. So in the long run I was charged 3 NSF fees even though I froze my membership. I’m never joining any Goodlife again.

The Goodlife gym in Truro NS has been dying a slow death over the past 10 years. We pay the same rates as fully functional gyms elsewhere and yet we have no in person classes, no towel service, no water/ drink machine and many other issues. The equipment is old and outdated and many machines have operational defects. The spin room smells of burning most of the time, the projector bulb in the bodypump room is still waiting to be replaced and there is a strong sewage smell that has never been dealt with in 10 years. The place is rarely cleaned properly. It is impossible to reach anyone in Goodlife management as the system prevents any member to actually talk to a human. The poor staff are helpless as they can only report issues up the system but obviously Truro is on the bottom of their list. Why not jist close the gym instead of letting it die a slow neglected death. I will be moving to the RECC gym as will many of my loyal friends. We gave you alot of chances but you blew it. Do not recommend this gym.

Gym is very clean, staff are very friendly. Can get a bit crowded at peak times but overall great gym.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH GL. They raised there membership prices by 30 dollars without informing their clients about said price increase and then once I canceled my membership with them, they proceeded to withdraw membership charges from account AFTER my cancellation. Because of this they rung up a total of 45 dollars in NSF charges which I HAD TO PAY FOR. Save yourself the headache and frustration and go sign up for the RECC, atleast they have a pool you can use.
