Hakim Optical Halifax - Susie Lake

I don't know why there are many negative reviews here. But I would like to share my experience for you.

I have never bought anything in this store. I came to this store for the first time last year to repair my glasses because a screw fell off. The staff at the front desk was very friendly and helped me fix it quickly without any repair cost.

Today is my second visit to this store because my frame is deformed, and they still help me fix it for free.

I am really moved by their service and help in this very difficult period.

This store made my day！ I will recommend it to all my friends！

Bought prescription glasses years ago and vowed never to go back. It was in Halifax but not this location. The coating on the lenses was peeling off on the edges and you could see the coating on the lens. The coating on the lenses was obviously not put on right. Couldn’t wear the glasses. I had not put anything on them that would’ve damaged them. Hakim would not replace them or offer any options. I filed a report with Better Business Bureau. They sent a letter to them and Hakim never responded.

Bought a pair of ~$500 glasses in January. They broke this month (February) and instead of repairing them they told me to try another location on the other side of the city or try back again in a week because the "entire site-wide system is down" so they can't check my warranty (how would the other location be able to check then?) So now I'm wearing an old prescription around for at least a week. If this was Costco they'd at least try to repair them. Great selection though.

Went in to Hakim in Bayers Lake with my husband to check out glasses was going to purchase 4 pair all total. Walked out and will go somewhere to another eye glass company. Staff member gave us a tray and then once a few pair were picked she was very unhelpful and rude like she just couldn't be bothered. Would not recommend this eyewear place, if you need eye wear purchase them elsewhere.

Booked eye exam online. Went in to store a few days in advance to check out their frames. Rep in store said not possible to be booked for eye exam as online system not working. He checked his computer and there it was, but their store doesn't do eye exams on that day he said? So no appt, no apologies. Lucky if I could get one in 2 months, I declined.

Well let me just say. Soon as you walk in the staff is so friendly. Everything was just great. 5 Stars should say it all. And the price is right. A big Thank you to the staff.

Rude staff. Sarah one of the two ladies working at the Bayers Lake location yelled at my 3 year old for touching a pair if glasses. She made a big deal because he wasn't wearing a mask (he's 3 and won't keep it on his face). I am a single mom during the day and had to take my two children into this store to purchase glasses. I will NEVER go back to this location. Sarah needs to be ashamed of the way she treated my 3 year old. She will be reported to their head office.

I am blown away by this place. I dealt with Cheryl who I believe is the manager she was amazing.very helpful and friendly. She even got me my glasses in record time. I highly recommend these guys.

Great selection! The best around. I was very pleased with all the options I had versus the other local optical places. Nice atmosphere and the employees were very helpful.
