Halifax Allergy & Asthma Associates

The receptionist is very nice, however can’t say the same about the doctor I had (Dr Clarke) I believe was her name. I was referred a long time ago by my family dr due to reoccurring rashes/hives which are likely caused by an allergy to something. Finally got an appt here and was looking forward to getting some answers. The resident dr started by asking medical questions and general questions about my rashes/hives. She said she had to ask the actual doctor to come in and speak to me now because she wasn’t sure what was causing these rashes. The doctor came in, looked at me, the picture on my phone of what the rashes look like, and 2 seconds later told me I don’t have rashes or hives and that she will NOT test me. I waited a very long time to get tested here and in the meantime have tried every possible treatment to stop these allergic reactions… only to be ignored and dismissed by this very unprofessional doctor. What was the point of making someone wait for years to come into the clinic with hopes of finding out what they are allergic to, only to tell them you will not test them. She didn’t even give me a single reason as to why she was refusing to test me. Instead of being tested for allergies, I was told to “just use CeraVe lotion” and that she doesn’t know what could be causing the rashes. Perhaps if she had tested me like my family dr had asked, she would know what was causing it. I would avoid this allergy clinic and especially this doctor at all costs. The most unprofessional doctor I have ever met. If you need help figuring out what you are allergic to, it wont happen with Dr Clarke. Total waste of time. Judging by the other reviews left here, unfortunately it seems that other people have also had the same experience with her refusing to test for allergies.
