Room was clean and stay was great. Only issue we experienced is that we were charged $18 connection fee for internet access we did not use.

Rooms were clean and the bed was amazing, but that's where the good ended. There was one particular night staff member who was extremely rude. He was rude to my girlfriend and then even questioned if I was actually staying at the hotel when I confronted him about the way he talked to her. The views from the hotel were horrible, which isn't to big of a deal, but considering the premium price of the rooms, not really ideal. Would never go back considering the options available in the area. I can't even fathom why anyone would pay that kind of money to stay there when there are cheaper options that offer the exact same amenities. Live and learn, I guess.

Many service related issues throughout our stay which were not acceptable. 1) Shower curtain was very dirty with what appeared to be blood stains. On the first day we checked in we complained but were told it was to late and someone would follow up - no one did 2) In room dining was impossible to reach and when they did take an order it took a min of 1hr to get delivery every time 3) At checkout we called down to request someone to bring us a luggage cart and were rudely told due to covid the hotel is not offering bell services - yet all we wanted was someone to bring us the cart so we didn't have to go down again we were told no one could help when we went down to get it ourselves three employees were chatting away at the front desk - disappointing service overall. Notified the hotel of the above concerns and received a generic "thank you for your feedback" email, not up to Marriott standards at all.

Charged extra for Harborview but the actual room facing another building. On check-in when I told them I was told thats all we can do.
Charged extra for breakfast. Reservation states for 4 adults but billed extra for 2 adults.
Rude customer service. Keep cutting off and listen to concerns.
I will never recommend this place.
Warning everyone of all the extra charges and terrible customer service.

Horrible experience. Came from Mtl. Fell asleep with my Bluetooth on. Woke up to one male manager entered my room ALONE, hovering over my bed doing a wellness check? I was very well until then. Spoke to Jill Donald and she handled it very tactless. Speaking over me when I asked for his name. I don't understand how someone of her nature could be a manager. Left there disgusted. Situation is still not sitting correctly with me.understand how someone of her nature could be a senior rooms manager

This hotel is in a great location. The views of the waterfront from the rooms are beautiful. I would definitely stay here again.

This was our port in a storm after we had to leave another nearby hotel due to an uncomfortable experience.

The rooms are nicely renovated and spotless. The bed is beyond comfortable. I loved the bath products they provided and had a great experience with the staff when they needed to be replenished during our stay.

And we haven't stayed there yet! The reason for the 5-star rating is that this hotel has the best customer service I have ever experienced.
Here is how it went down. I was in Halifax last month with a couple of buddies for a guys trip and we booked an Airbnb. On the last day we had to be out of the BnB by 11am but our flight didn't leave till 10pm that night.
We were stuck with having to drag our luggage around all day until we flew out.
Then I remembered a story I had heard about how the Marriott put customer service above everything, so I thought I would try and see if they would hold our luggage for the day even though we hadn't booked and stayed with them.
To our amazement, the front desk people said that of course, they would help us out!
Now a month later I find myself coming back to Halifax for a week and there was no hesitation in deciding who we were going to book with this time!
We are looking forward to our stay next week. Any place that helps people the way the Marriott does just has to be an amazing place to stay at.

As a special treat we decided to stay at the nicest hotel in Halifax. Everything was very good except the following,
1. We were never told what the wifi password was and had to ask the desk.
2. We paid debit and had to give a deposit. At checkout we had to wait 15 minutes for the room to be inspected before we could complete the checkout and get our deposit back. Something else we were not informed of.
3. We wanted to watch TV before going to bed. No remote control. We called the desk and ten minutes later one was sent up.
4. The room was nice but extremely small.

Now, these points seem very small and I agree with that. However, this is the best hotel in Halifax. Also considering the cost I would expect everything to be perfect. This should have been an unforgettable experience. It was nothing special.

Beautiful hotel right in the beautiful and amazing Halifax Waterfront super close to everything. Great restaurants and activities for the whole family. Great pool and spa. Gorgeous installation and amenities. Totally recommend.

Stayed for a week while motorcycle was being repaired. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The room was very nice and worked for the two of us without issue. Located near the waterfront but travel away from the water to find some great (reasonably priced) restaurants serving the downtown core (rather than the touristy waterfront).

Had a great experience here. Staff was friendly.

Location is very centrally located. Parking is $25 a day but I felt it was quite worth it. Lots of good bars, patios and restaurants that are walking distance. Was great to have to option to walk straight back to the hotel.

Breakfast was not included but you can pre-order through the app the night before and have it ready at a specific time.

Staff was also very friendly and housekeeping very responsive through the bonvoy app.

We booked two king size rooms in February for the Aug 1 long weekend. Got there on Friday was told only had one room but they would get us another room. We waited 3 hours then I went to speak with manager who tried to lie to my face and say they did have two rooms booked just wasn’t ready. When I told him that wasn’t the case he admitted it was computer glitch. 4: 30 pm we finally got in our room. The manager was shown our February confirmation and still acted like no big deal. The room was clean but the electrical switch in bathroom didn’t work, no bathroom fan, shower cold, carpets stunk and over all for what you get this place is too expensive. It was a nightmare and I feel the manager should have offered a reduction in price as we were tired from travelling and the rooms had been booked since FEBRUARY. The staff were friendly except the manager he confused us with our travel companions and just seemed not very knowledgeable. I would not recommend this hotel at all. Check others you can get others in city for half the price with better amenities!

We learned after arriving that the pool was closed due to unforseen technical difficulties. They told us that they learned a day before our check-in but didn't want to call and tell us because we would cancel. If I wanted a hotel without a pool I'd book one for more than half the price of this one. Then when we called and complained, they said the room was already discounted. It was discounted due to Covid nit like they are doing us a service. The only thing we were given is a chance to checkout early.

What are you looking for in a hotel? Choose this spot if your most interested in the location and slightly above average rooms. The restaurants and pool are not great. The level of service at the hotel overall is okay. The Westin has recently been renovated very rwcently and that's a bit of a better value with nicer rooms, however it's 15 minutes down the road and not as centrally located.

My wife and I celebrated our 29th anniversary on Saturday May 15. A friend gave us as an anniversary gift - one night's stay at the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel. They upgraded us to a suite with a dining room table and chairs and complimentary bottle of Malbec, and each of the staff signed a happy anniversary card. They bent over backwards to help out. We were really touched by the kindness they showed and would like to send a big THANK YOU to all the staff at the Marriot Harbourfront Hotel!

Not as good as expected. Front desk staff weren't friendly. The sliding bathroom doors provide minimal privacy and the bathroom ventilation is poor. Only ordered room service once. It arrive an hour early and was cold.

Apologies on the last review. I wrote it in the heat of the moment. The manager reached out to me and offered anything that would make my visit more enjoyable. I really appreciated that. For as little as it sounds, it meant alot. I will do more research on my end to look for more of a long term stay hotel. Thank you so much for the phone call and I'm glad we had a chance to chat. Very nice rooms with the new renovations and a nice location on the harbour. Take care.

Stayed in the North Tower. Rooms have all been redone and are nicely appointed. Restaurant closed due to Covid, but overall a comfortable stay.

Always enjoy our stays at the Harbourfront Marriott, beds are comfortable location is central to the downtown area and the staff are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable!

Staff was extremely helpful when item was left in the room by mistake with a supervisor going to double check for the missing item. Newly renovated rooms are nice (A+ for the chaise by the window) although a bit on the dark side for lighting. As for parking the ~$28 indoor self parking per stay option is good if staying a longer period but expensive if staying a weekend or less.

Dirty room- one shock after another.
I have no idea how this place is a four star hotel. I recieved an email prior to our arrival and a handout at check-in explaining that the cleaning / sanitizing of rooms had been enhanced due to Covid for our protection.

When we first came in the room we washed out hands and noticed a hair on the counter by the fawcet which was not reassuring.

Later in the evening, after having used the sink many times, without incident, the water didn't drain. I called the front desk to let them know and they offered to send up "24 hour engineer" or give us a different room. I declined both as we were tired and wanted to stay beside my sister's room and explained that I just wantednit noted for when we checked out.

At three in the morning I went to the washroom and noticed the water had risen (a lot) and was dirty and sleepily wondered what I had put my hands in when I was trying to figure out the drain hours prior.

When I got back into bed I felt something touching my leg, reached down and pulled up.a hair elastic (not mine). I was shocked awake and wondered how the sheets could be changed with an elastic in the middle of the bed between the top and bottom sheet and then realized, it couldn't have.

For the next 2 hours I lay there grossed out and worried about what we had exposed ourselves to as the room had not been cleaned to usual standards, let alone Covid standards.

Finally I fell back to sleep only to be shocked awake at 6 am by an alarmclock by my head. Neither of us had noticed this clock, nor touched the night before. I couldn't figure out how to turn it off and it couldn't be unplugged, finally I got it to stop.

This was by far the worse hotel stay I have ever had, I am leaving exhausted and concerned.

The absolute worst Hotel experience I have ever had! Was overcharged for the room and in effort to rectify the situation front desk person charged my card an additional 50$! For my "inconvenience. " I was given free valet parking which there system automatically charged me for anyway! I was told everything would be taken care upon check out. At checkout they advise me that I would have to wait to get 100$ back that I was overcharged as it is up to my bank when I get it back as the Hotel had already released it? To make the situation worse the "complementary" valet brought me the wrong vehicle as I was leaving! I call today and asked where is the rest of my money that was overcharged only to find out I was charged 50$ a "Cleaning fee. " Which I have never in my life heard of. Very poor organization, lack of customer service, inexperienced staff not to mention the rooms suck and don't come with a cheap 20$ microwave to heat your food! STAY AWAY!

Had a staff Christmas party here the other day. Everything was very well catered though veg options were few and far in between. Other than that I can’t really fault the hotel for the fact that the people invited to the party were really boring

So please. Location is perfect, 2nd time staying, pool and all other amenities are perfect. Would be hard for me to stay anywhere else. Rooms right off the pool or harbor views. Never been disappointed. Staff that goes above and beyond and knowledgeable. If they do not know they won't give up, they will find you your answer

A fine hotel, great location, the seafood chowder in the lobby restaurant is simply incredible and the bar very nice. The business lounge is a bit chintzy, having to pay for beer and wine during happy hour is very unusual, basically unheard of, when paying the added charge for a club floor room. Out of step with the rest of the planet.

I visited the hotel to go to the spa. It was a great experience! The hotel seems a little dated in decor but overall nice, clean and friendly staff.

I absolutely love the salon area and the openness of everything. It was also great being able to walk to the casino thru the pedway and not having to go outside in the weather.

I would have given a five star but both parking paying stations were broken while I was in a rush to get to the airport and visited both stations and none was working then had to pay at the front desk and wait in the line up. However the front desk person waived my parking fee due to the inconvenience.

The suite was very spacious and comfortable with 2 bathrooms, fireplace, living room, bar, fridge, dishwasher and 2 tvs with harbor view. Everything was a bit outdated. 3 negatives: not having onsite dry cleaning service and their off site ones turnaround is slow morning pickup with evening delivery, no concierge, and 3rd is cleanliness they should work on that

Location on the harbourfront is amazing, with practically direct access to Lower Deck and other nearby restaurants. Would stay again next time I'm in Halifax

The Marriot is a very nice place to stay. I actually just parked there before I went to an event at the Casino. I looked for parking at Scotia Square and the Parkade and they were both full.

Wonderful location with some beautiful views of the waterfront. Rooms and food were excellent and the staff were very friendly. Had an issue with the AC in our conference room not being easily adjusted which made things uncomfortable.

Horrible service at the front desk. I arrived and told the front desk that I was impaired, and needed to use a restroom, he had asked for photo identification. No problem, I've been in 10 bars in 2 days, no problems at all until this guy decided I needed photo Id to use a urinal. I get double id'd and he refused to let me in. Proper training on Identification is needed. I was fairly upset with this man considering I've been accepted into multiple bars that night with one piece of Id and no issues. He stated my pictures aren't even close and I cannot use a urinal. I had recited my postal code to him, and even my driver's license number. I told him he should redo his liquor license. Fairly pathetic service and I will be making sure I NEVER stay at a Marriott hotel again. You've lost someone who had great service on st.johns and absolutely horrid service in Halifax.

Great location, with comfortable beds, clean rooms, and good service. Desk and chair are extraordinarily comfortable for prolonged work! Wifi is also faster than typical, 6 MB/s download with the ability to pay a premium for faster speeds. Room window views can leave a bit to be desired, depending on the location.but nonetheless, well recommended!

This is the third time we have stayed here - love the proximity to the water, great restaurants and shops to wander through. We have always had a great experience here! When we checked in today, the hospitality was over the top fantastic! We are a Marriott loyal family and Marriott always treats there loyal customers particularly well but the experience we had today tops it all. Kate and Chad both exceeded our expectations, went above and beyond to make sure this was a great stay for us! Thank you Kate and Chad and thank you Marriott for hiring great people!

Always a great stay. It was nice that you can take the indoor walkway to the casino but at the same time anyone can walk through the hotel.

Room was beautiful. An older hotel, but obviously very well cared for and maintained. The views from the north side of the harbor were incredible. Room service was alsoquite good, breakfast including both a juice and coffee (not something you usually see).
