Halifax Stanfield International Airport

With my boarding pass on my phone and Nexus card, it took me 5 min from the front door to the gate. Easy flow.

Terrible airport in winter. Nothing ever leaves on time from here due to multiple reasons. They are always short staffed. You have Subway and A&W for food options before security and not much after security. If you are flying through this airport, be prepared for delays.

I love the airport and the staff but why is the ride share pick up at the total opposite of the arrivals area? Who came up with that one?

Nice clean airport, friendly and helpful staff. First time back to Stanfield airport in 6yrs. Nothing has changed for the most part.

Great services, flew from halifax to toronto and Toronto to halifax, flights were on time and was easy to navigate.

With over a million miles with AC last few flights still a nightmare. Complete lack of customer service. I guess loyalty counts for nothing: (

We arrived quite late and the customs and baggage collection went quickly and smoothly. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The airport is a bit small. The check-in counter is too far from the domestic security checkpoint. The swoop airlines is terrible. Avoid them at all cost. I hope that we can add more AC and WS. Even Porter is fine. Also, for the airport car rental spot, it requires you to walk out of the terminal and re-enter, which is bad under heavy rain, an underground tunnel could help a lot.

All the seats at the gates are filthy.garbage all over the floor. Seems like there's no maintenance staff. Gross way to leave what's otherwise a beautiful city

My favorite little airport. Nothing at all like Pearson in TO. Staff are generally friendly and if you arrive early enough for your flight you'll be fine.

Easy to get in and out of. But our flight was delayed and we missed our connection so we had to reschedule from Thursday to Saturday

Good cozy airport. Lines move efficiently.that made me very happy. They have a neat liquor shop inside with some local varieties. They also fresh lobsters at good prices just before entering bag check. They are not far from Halifax at all. Always a great experience.

After my flight was cancelled I asked sherry fron guest services for some help. She directed me to security where I could check my bag overnight and even went above and beyond and offered me a blanket and toiletries for my uneventful overnight sleep at the airport. She’s a pleasure to deal with and amazing at her job.

Busy, but easy enough to navigate. Security can be a little rushed, cranky, and unfriendly… compared to other experiences I’ve read about- it seems like mine was just an off day, but it made the most stressful part of the trip even more stressful. That’s probably my main complaint. Other than that, the airport is decent!

G4s staff were terrible at Halifax International. Rude and talking under there breath at us. Half of them do not have proper uniforms, wearing torn leggings and jogging pants, some with there shirts hanging out. One agent making karate moves after a client went through. This has gone so down hill its sad to see it at this point. I grew up here and live in Vancouver and have traveled through this airport at least 100. Worst agents across Canada

Nice and organized. Very small compared to other international airports. Mostly domestic flights. Still generally not busy with close to none dining and shopping options.

Security is a joke. We arrived way ahead of departure and ended up being late to the gate due to staff allowing those who are late to take priority over others. Stood in queue for over an hour for a DOMESTIC flight.

I can’t understand Air Canada international transfers, when you have to pick up your luggage from the belt and drop it off again at the check-in. Then you have to pass security control again and that time (Aug 4th 2022) even lounge didn’t work. ️ All that was sad plus all the time ‘Air Canada delays’ doesn’t help as well.

We were on a domestic flight and came the recommended 2 hours before. Despite this the security screening was so badly managed and slow moving that we nearly missed our flight (only saved because our flight was kind enough to wait an extra 30 minutes for passengers). If you are so under staffed, maybe you should at least let people flying through know they should come 4 hours earlier as to spare us the panic attacks.

Very nicely updated! It’s been 7 years since I last visited Halifax and I was very happy to see how beautiful the airport is now:)

Not very impressed with the offloading time for luggage. Probably short staffed and I understand, it just seemed excessive, even for short staffed times.

Quite and clean as usual.not many options for coffee there even though there is Tim’s but I would recommend if you dropping someone to airport to bring your coffee with you
Indoor parking is free if you there for less than one hour but it is 3 per hour if you stay for longer

Extremely long baggage waits, I’ve waited for an hour on numerous occasions, no one at the baggage help desk. For a small airport things should be quicker.

I mean.it's an airport. Past security the selections are a bit scarce, but it's clean, relatively quick, and pretty comfortable.

Nice airport, especially for a smaller city. The older Caucasian male with glasses working the Wesjet check-in counter at 1: 15pm today was horrible though. One of the rudest people we met here. Not the best way to be ending our trip.

Lovely, smaller airport, well laid out with all the services you can expect. In addition, they great stores featuring local products - well worth the time to go browsing.

Halifax is great but the airport is not Friendly at all.
The airport is packed and they close down all the restaurants at 7pm.
So much for encouraging air travel.

I mean its nice there a bar a couple of Little shops, franchise restaurants so you kind of allreddy know the quality of the product.

Great service, covid safe and great food, great sleep, rooms clean and comfortable. Able to leave our car until we return for free. Shuttled free to and from the airport.

Step up your game Halifax Airport. You require people arrive 2 hours prior to an international flight. Yet once you're in security there is 1 option to have food or coffee. How is that sufficient to provide good service to the entire airport? Worst International Airport in Canada.

A small but well run and designed airport. Plenty of stores to keep you entertained and ability to buy lobsters before going through security. There is also a tourist information centre before you head off to Halifax.

Long walk, we came in to the highest numbered gate. But, well signed, clean and easy to find what we needed. Excellent actually.

Staff was pretty friendly, security was pretty tight all in all, i felt very comfortable traveling during covid

Great airport for its size. I find the larger city airports to big and confusing, but the Halifax terminal is always clean and easy to get around. Just wish they had better access for people with disabilities.

Very nice airport and Amanda with Air Canada was super helpful with our boarding passes. Flight crew very nice and upbeat at 5am in the morning. Look forward to many more flights in and out of Halifax.

It is a nice airport. The new covid restrictions make travel very different. Everyone was very nice.

Was a bit confusing. It was hard to figure out where to go once we got off plane. There was also a bit of a wait for luggage.

Very little open in terms of retail, Air Canada was horribly understaffed, delayed flight resulted in mass confusion at the airport.

Quiet & good signage for road access. Building signage inside wasn't the best/wasn't easy to understand & looks like it needs to be updated. Lots of food places closed both times I was in it during a weekday.

EVERYTIME I pick up a friend or relative the luggage takes at least 30 mins to start on the carousel.
Macpass for parking is handy.
Still nothing open along concourse.

Everything went smoothly until the exit. Very confusing to what line you were to exit. Sign were too small and not very visible on which side to go to. Vaccined or non-vaccined otherwise all was good.

Verry nice airport. Albeit a little far from Halifax. Food and souvenirs available. Taxi, hotel shuttle, and bus services from just out front of the building.

I travel in and out of the Halifax International Airport 30 to 40 times a year. Halifax International Airport is the least organized airport in North America.

I’m currently writing this review while I am waiting 30 minutes on the tarmac, from Newfoundland, waiting for an agent to deplane! Horrible airport.

Terrible experience. My daughter waited 1hr10 minutes just to check in with an agent. (she had a dog so couldn't do self check in), andv the agents were not pleasant or helpful. Just mortified by our experience today qnd many others voiced their opinions today as well.

The only elevator accessible from the rental car returns area took me to the (closed) 2nd floor for US departures but would not let me off at the first floor. I had to return to the basement and drag my bags up to the 1st floor because the escalators were turned off. Not great for accessibility.

Staff were polite and helpful.checkin quick and easy at the west jet gate. Security also were polite and kind.

I hope one day it will be the last time I will be in that airport because I never want to leave my home ever again. ️

Lovely small airport with everything within reach. Need not walk too much for car rentals or anything.

Nice airport with a good choice of stores to buy souvenirs from or to just sit down and relax while waiting for your flight. I like the lobsters store and the fact that I can check in almost 35 minutes before my flight and can still make it in time to board the plane. Nice little airport.

A very standard airport. Security isn't unbearably long, plenty of space to sit and outlets at every set of 3 seats, restaurants and shops with interesting souvenirs.

They have these cool library machines, so if you have a Halifax library card you can check out a book while waiting for your flight. It's a brilliant idea.

Bathrooms are very clean and big. The water fountains have very cold water too.

Our Airport, is friendly with great shops while your waiting for your flight.
Great eating, and great atmosphere

It is a good airport that can keep you relatively busy in if you arrive several hours early. Staying overnight would likely be tiring though seats, charging areas, and free WiFi are available

Goofiest security screening system I have ever encountered, and I travel a lot. Your trays don't go together, they get mixed up with others and it causes a lot of confusion. How could they possibly take something so simple and make it so complicated? And to top it off some of the security officers are rude.

YHZ airport has improved so much in the last couple of years and with this beautiful display of Xmas trees it’s always fun Look fwd to it each year

One of nicest airport I have ever been! Thank you Halifax Airport for great welcome and goodbye.

Convenient small airport. I read reviews and it’s unfortunate some put their bad experience on the fascilities. There are quite a few stores, restaurants and food options before and after security check. Security check was fast and easy. Pretty much standard procedure. The terminals are clean and there are plenty of charging outlets throughout the airport areas. Rental car and parking garage access is easy to find. It is quite a bit out of Halifax, so getting to Halifax without a car might be a bit time consuming.

Arrived after a 2 hours delay. Waited for 30 lines for bags to start on the belt.
Then THERE WAS NO TAXIS! What kind of 'international airport' has no ground transportation waiting when a plane of 200 people arrived? Bush league operation here.

Renovations are looking nice, and cant wait to see the airport continue to grow with the growing population and more travelers because the airport will considered too small in the next decade for the amount of people coming and going and I feel during the busy times you see this. Hopefully itll be ok and that the airport keeps growing and expanding. It looks nice so far.
