Usually my experience isn't too bad here, but this afternoon it was awful. I had the snapper BLT, it tasted so fishy like it was previously frozen. It was so dry it was chewing on hard sawdust. The bacon was burnt to a crisp. The server never came to check in on us, and then we had to run back to the office so we didn't have time to wait and paid our bill and left. There was maybe 6 people in the restaurant, if it was busy I would have understood.

Like I said, normally my experience is decent. This was absolutely awful. The worst fish I ever ate in NS. You would think being on the waterfront downtown the fish would be super fresh.

Really disappointed.

My husband and I had breakfast here this morning! We LOVED the cute booth. So cozy. The atmosphere was great.
We were pleasantly surprised ar the positions of food, as a lot of places are cutting back. Large positions made you feel you got your money's worth. Food was perfect. Everything came out just as we asked. Also hard to come by I find these day.
The staff were all great!
We can't wait to come back for lunch/dinner

Thanks for a great start to our day!

I've had a lot of chowder in a lot of places and this is probably the best in the city. About to dig into my steak frites.

Seafood chowder was good, but the hair on the plate with my bun was utterly disgusting and what was more disgusting was that they never even offered a discount won’t be coming back here again

My last few visits for breakfast have been quite enjoyable, especially weekday mornings earlier when it's quiet and peaceful. Very friendly staff. The spanish sweet potato omelet (caramelized onion, chives, Canadian aged cheddar, sweet potato, Yukon homestyle potatoes $14) is delicious.the Italian Frittata (pomodorini confit, proscuitto, basil ricotta, Yukon potatoes $17) is also great. My favorite is the huevos rancheros (poached eggs, black beans, stewed tomato, tortilla, house pico de gallo, avocado $15). The Shakshuka Eggs (baked eggs, spiced tomato & red pepper sauce, feta, grilled house rosemary focaccia $15) is very flavorful and nice on a cold winter morning, although I think I'd enjoy it more for lunch than breakfast.
The vegan Buddha Bowl is very healthy and satisfying. Tofu scramble, avocado, pickled veg, some flavored rice, Asian pancakes.
The egg white fritata is decent, with large Yukon gold home fries cooked right in it, a spicy sour cream drizzle and strong basil taste. Basically there is a lot of variety here that you often don't get at other hotel restaurants, with the menu changing every few months, which I love. A whole pot of coffee tops it off for perfection.

Stayed here on business.

Restaurant was fairly empty at 5 pm. One waitress, one bartender and one greeter on staff.

Took 15 mins for a drink.

Another hour for the soup of the day.

Very pricey.

Go down the street and you'll get better service for the price.

Generally, Not a big review guy. Nachos here are the best in Halifax, have to give credit where credit is due. Caramelized onions and Maple bacon bits give if a different profile from anywhere. Sit at the wood, have a cocktail share the nachos. Cheers.

Generous portions and tasty breakfast. I also appreciate how early they open. On Saturday morning most places (including the restaurant in ny own hotel) weren't open yet. They were so I enjoyed a full breakfast and pleasant servers.

Staff were undertrained. First time we weren't acknowledged. We had a wheelchair and there was plenty of room for it.
Second time they said they were already closed although it was 950pm and they are in a hotel. Their hours said until 10pm.
3rd time we enjoyed a meal, I had a seafood stew. I made it back to my room and promptly threw up the whole meal. Not sure why. 4th time, we had a comped breakfast from Expedia and it was delicious but the server was not very explicit and hardly said a word even when asked questions. 5th time went for drinks and the server had no clue as to what he was doing. Even a novice server could have asked. Left angry. Even asked to talk to a manager who never appeared.
For a hotel restaurant, they left much to be desired. We had 3 comped meals from Expedia but only used one as I was wary to eat there again.
The hotel itself was excellent and the staff fantastic. Too bad the restaurant couldn't learn from them.

Sat outside for a couple of drinks and snacks. The outdoor fire pits are awesome, and produce a surprising amount of heat. The service was excellent, and the drink options were good. It would be nice to have a few more vegetarian options on the menu. Book ahead if you want to sit outside since the tables seem full most of the time.
