My original review i gave 2 stars this was when the restaurant first opened under the name Harv's the 2 stars at that time was simply because nice stuff food at that time was awful I actually got sick from what I had my buns of the chicken burger I ordered looked like dirty fryer waste oil was rubbed on them but one year later I decided to give it another shot because I had heard there was different kitchen staff this time the food was way better actually really good and It never made me sick i will try it again in the future to see if the quality stays the same

6 month update: I have called for takeout no less than six times in 6 months and I have yet to have someone even answer the phone. The few times someone actually answered, they hung up on me immediately! I just called and it rang for a full minute with no response. I'm sure someone else wants my money. I will never attempt again.

Original review: I attempted to call for takeout but they kept picking up the phone and hanging it up.

One of the lady waitresses is rude and she has bad customer service skills. In my book she would be fired gives the business a bad name. Everywhere you go and talk about the place all you hear is the bad customer service given by this individual.

Great food, great diner experience, great prices, great service. I'd have given 5 stars, but every time we go for lunch or dinner, they are out of something on the menu

Great timing is happening upon Harv's Place when Lobster Poutine is a special of the day! My wife had haddock with onion rings, and loved every bite. We also split a piece of Harv's homemade peanut butter pie. It was light, fluffy, and packed with intense peanut buttery flavor. Great place with great service.

My family went stopped by there for the first time last night on our way home and what a great little gem. I ordered the mushroom caps, along with the meatloaf dinner special.

The mushrooms were just as I expected them to be, deep fried with a pop of juice and flavour when eaten. What I didn’t expect was the meatloaf dinner to be as large as it was, and quite frankly, as good as it was.

The meatloaf while simple in added ingredients (which is a bonus in my books) was flavourful and quite enjoyable. The mashed potatoes are distinctively homemade with a little seasoning leaving you room to add your own or not. For me, the peas were the least favourite part of the dish as they tasted as though they were from a can, but given the meatloaf and mashed potatoes, I didn’t really care.

The over all atmosphere of the diner was small, intimate, with a feeling of walking into grandma’s house for dinner. It was clean, and featured inviting artwork for decor.

For me, the waitress was personable, allowed for time to enjoy food before asking if it was ok, and over all was pleasant and continued the feeling of being at grandma’s house for dinner with informal service, which is what I would expect from a diner.

I would highly recommend this diner for anyone looking for a great meal that includes good portion sizes, a personable wait experience, clean environment. The great prices of the food is pure bonus!

Harv's is a genuine old school diner. The food, especially the English Style Fish 'N Chips is uniformly delicious.

En me fiant aux avis sur maps pour découvrir cet établissement, je dois dire que cette fois-ci, j'ai été déçu. Je suis vraiment perplexe quant à la note élevée de 4,5/5 attribuée à cet endroit. J'imagine que la qualité était bien supérieure à l'époque où il portait le nom de Mern's Place, avant le changement de propriétaire.

La propreté de l'endroit laissait sérieusement à désirer, et la cuisine présentait des problèmes similaires. Le poisson que j'ai commandé avait un goût de gaz prononcé et dégageait une forte odeur. Heureusement, la serveuse était très aimable et a remarqué que je n'avais pas touché à mon plat, acceptant gentiment de me le remplacer. Malheureusement, même le poulet frit que j'ai choisi en remplacement n'était pas à la hauteur.

C'est vraiment décevant de constater que, malgré sa proximité avec le port, cet établissement ne parvient pas à offrir une expérience satisfaisante. Je vous recommande de passer votre chemin et d'éviter cet endroit.

A+ for me.fresh fish expertly fried (right oil temperature meant the fish was not soggy or greasy and no bitter oil aftertaste detected which meant they used fresh oil) I hope they are consistently this good.very reasonably priced too

Food was good and prices were good. Service was great. My only complaint would be that the restaurant is in need of a couple air conditioners.

When me and my family had lunch here are cake had hair in it and it was stall do not recommend the cake

Loved the food. Service was excellent and the prices were good. I recommend and would definitely go back.

The dark skinned lady waitress is so mean. She lacks customer service skills everytime I go in it's a constant mistreatment. The food is good but this girl has to go she has no respect for the business.

Melissa was running the show solo and did an excellent job, making our visit extra special. The little details, like splitting our "bowl" of chowder into 2 cups because she heard us say we would share, shows great attention to detail and care for the customers.

First time trying creamed lobster and it was super good, together with the super light yet crunchy batter on the haddock was so delicious I wish I'd ordered two specials! It even included a slice of pie, making a $15.75 meal feel like it should have been $30+ easy.

The fish chowder was also amazing, with tiny cubed potatoes and such intense yet not overpowering flavour, I cannot recommend it enough.
