Terrible interaction with the staff. Prices aren't updated online and we showed them and instead of owning up to it, they proceeded to show us the in-person menu. Smoothie wasn't even blended properly, there was a HUGE chunk at the bottom. Avoid at all cost unless you wanna be gaslit and experience awful service:)

This place serves everything vegan and vegetarian.
We ordered the Thai Burger which came along with some roasted potatoes and a side salad. The burger tikki was made with lentils and seeds.
We also ordered a vegan pizza. The base was a kamut flour base. We were satisfied with the quantity and it sure fills you up!
The sweet potato and apple soup was good too.

I liked so options for vegan restaurant and allergy friendly menu (Gluten free). Although the food was good I felt missing flavors. The staff were very friendly

I really enjoy this spot, and it’s location. Having outdoor seating really drew me into trying this place out. The waitstaff are very friendly. It’s one of the OG vegetarian places in Halifax, and is still doing well. It’s a good spot to just take break and have a drink, or stop for brunch. High recommendations from me!

The Heartwood was delicious! Great food and atmosphere! The sever was great! Fast and very friendly! I would highly recommend this place to anyone that enjoys great food!

They had very limited menu options when I went. Was hoping to get salad for my supper but there’s only one option. (which is “salad of the day”)
The taste was ok, felt like pretty oily… even when I finished the dish, there was still a lot of oil on the bottom of the bowl.
However I do like there atmosphere and patio. The servers were nice, just a little bit slow, it took almost 40 mins to get my food even there was not too many people.
Still nice that there’s a restaurant for vegetarians on Quinpool tho.

A great restaurant with a patio (for the warmer months) and a dine in area. Food is amazing and the portions are huge. I had the cajun tofu containing two thick slices of firm tofu with brown rice and a large helping of kale salad with balsamic vinegar. Overall healthy and delicious.

My husband and I ordered the Heartwood bowl and the veg burger. The burgers lacks taste and the salad was too salty. The roasted potatoes looked and tasted as if they have been cooked 2 days ago. The veggies in the bowl did not look fresh at all.
The atmosphere indoors is not encouraging. Very dark and smells weird.
Will not come back to this restaurant.

This restaurant is deliciouse. I included a picture of the bean burrito dish we had. Everything about it is tasty right down to the corn chips. You get a nice helping of food for your money and are quite full when finished. My husband ended up ordering this again the next day because it was so good. Very fresh and very tasty. A great vegetarian restaurant. It's going to be on our return to list for sure. It's one of those places that you want to try Everything on their menu. Highly recommend

Heartwood offers a diverse menu, including options for those of us who are vegan/vegetarian skittish. The beer selection is great and the side patio ("the beer garden") is private and comfortable. The restaurant observed COVID protective measures and our server was friendly and attentive. Try the bean burrito.

Stumbled across this place on a rainy Monday. Really tasty hearty vegetarian/vegan food. Prices were great considering the huge portions and the staff were really friendly.

My dietary restriction were not cared for properly. Reached out to management with no response. Make sure to repeat yourself multiple times to ensure you are cared for properly.

The only thing good about this place is the vibe that it portrays. The food looked like it should’ve tasted good, when in fact the burrito was extremely disappointing. The salad was okay, the rice was too. But that being said i wouldve been happier cooking at home or going to mcdonalds. Not to mention the service was also terrible. We found old food chunks floating around in the glass bottle of water we were given and the glasses also had the same issue, very dirty.

I just love the bean burrito meal here. The black bean soup is also good and the grilled veggies. Try it all it's good for you!

I ordered the spicy peanut heartwood bowl with rice noodles and let me tell you this was so flippin’ delicious! This is one of my first ‘restaurant’ experiences since learning I am celiac, I had complete confidence my gluten free requirement was going to be taken seriously which gave me a huge sense of ease and allowed me to properly enjoy the food without worrying about getting sick. 10/10 so happy with this experience.

We ordered take out during recent lockdown and were not disappointed! Food was very tasty. Burrito was excellent and portions generous size. Great spot to try!

I would seriously come here just for the hummus and guac platter, SO tasty! So nice being vegetarian and being actually overwhelmed by choice at restaurant. Burgers are great, their bowls slap, poutine is so delicious I've had it a few times now. Definitely a cozy atmosphere and worth a trip across the bridge!
