It was a beautiful day, the tide coming in, the kids having fun in and out of the water, the adults chatting and having fun too. Great family time.

Nice beach. Lots of sand. Not rocky. Lifeguards on duty. Nice looking bathrooms are disguised outhouses. They were clean. Has a change room area.

Great beach to find sea shells. However i will say there is lots of dead crabs and jellyfish as well. Beach also has tons of hermit crabs.

My cottage is here
It's a shame that the provincial beach keeps getting hit so hard by storms making the beach very rocky and lots of seaweed

Warm water, change rooms and lifeguards, all great. Mixed sand and gravel beach so bring beach shoes.

Heather Beach is on the Northumberland Strait, Port Howe, Nova Scotia. The beach is a combination of rocks and sand, much more sand than rock. When the tide is out there are at least 3 three sandbars exposed. The public beach/ provincial park is supervised by lifeguards provided by the province. There are change rooms and outdoor toilets available. There is parking in the park and just outside of the park. The Confederation bridge between New Brunswick and PEI is visible from the bank/beach area.

The beach is nice because it has a lifeguard for those who want to swim with supervision, but at low tide the beach is more rocky than others. Northport Beach Provincial Park is just a 10 minute drive away and better for walking at low tide.
