What puzzling endeavour Took a trip here once or twice! Welcoming staff very safe environment! Amazing people always willing to province assistance! To those in need of hearing them!

This motel Really grossed me out. Floors were sticky, so were the headboards of the beds, room smelled terrible, and then yet way over priced! Could really use some improvements.would not recommend

The room is decent, I mean it's Cape Breton, you come to understand how most of the rooms and places will be before you step into them. The entire room (#3 for me) was pretty comically small, but really it could have been much worse. Didn't experience anything dirty or gross for the most part. Bed was new, as were the linen, Keurig coffee maker was randomly on the floor for some reason.

Didn't have any of the horror stories that I read from the previous reviews. As most were over a year old, I did decide to chance staying here. The price is fairly good considering its proximity to everything. I do believe the people who manage this establishment have seriously tried to make up for past mistakes/issues. I would recommend it, if it was you and your significant other, maybe not a family, the walls are thin and well, someone had a decent Valentine's Day night, is all I will say about that.

My only gripe, and the gentleman at the front mentioned it to me so I don't feel too annoyed by it, but I still thought I'd post about it, snow was just kinda left in the walk ways, to get to my door I had to trudge thru snow. Now in their defense, they said that their snow blower was broken down and stopped working. My rebuttal to that was "Maybe use a shovel then? "

Well we stayed here prior to going around the Cabot Trail.the Cabot Trail was great. Unfortunately, went i arrived back to Middle Sackville to the Camp, i started to get notifications that my Credit Card was doing online purchases, but i had my CC with me. This was the only place that i used my credit card at. Needless to say, they are coming to get you, you dirty buggers.just pay cash if you have to stay at this place.when you hear that knock at your door and the lights are flashing think of me you little worm!

Room wasn't very clean. The bathroom floor was sticky, I think it was from urine and the floor not being cleaned. The shower had mold around it, so did the windows in the room. The curtains did not cover the whole window, we had to use chairs and suitcases to kind of keep it private from people looking in. The beds were old and uncomfortable. Try to make it better owner, staff, and manager, it's not that hard.

This motel is filthy. For an extra few dollars, find something better. On a scale from1 to 10, I give it a 0. The pictures look like a half-decent place, but believe me, it's not. Shortly after checking in, we got a call from Marine Atlantic that we had a spot on the ferry. We lost our money. But I was not going to sleep there after checking in and seeing the place. I cannot even rate this place. Had to give it a star to post my review.

This is a dump, don't stay here. Filthy, scummy place, went into room and immediately demanded refund. Felt like I needed a shower after only one minute in there.

The room was dirty and we couldn't get additional towels (6 people staying in a room with 3 beds and only 2 towels). The staff were nowhere to be found when needed and the other patrons staying here were shady.

Rooms were old and smelled. There was a lot of night night activity around this place. Only good thing of this place is location to the NL ferry

Room was filthy. Mold in bathroom. Windows don't have screens. Fridge something was left in it and can't even open it it smells so bad. Microwave filthy. Not clean. Absolutely disgusting! If I could put no stars u would. Besides the back of one of the beds there is broken light bulb glass

The owner is amazing and super accomodating. I had a very late arrival and the owner was very understanding and made arrangements for me to still stay the night by hiding the key for me! Some work can be done on the inside, but that will come with time!

Want to give "zero" stars. This motel has gone from "good" to "really bad". Third time staying there and it will be our last. Floor was "sticky". No "courtesy cups" in room for water. Heat was turned off and we were cold all night long. Bed linen was "cheap" dollar store throws. Shower was not clean; towels had holes in them.

4 plugs in the whole room; one dedicated to the the TV and fan (filthy dirty and missing it's blade guard) ; one under the window (not operable), one in the bathroom (for razor) and one where you had to decide what to plug in; it depended on what you wanted to use, the microwave, ac, fridge, lamp, clock. In the morning we had the TV on for news and then it stopped working along with the bathroom light and razor plug; fuse must may have blown. Called the office, no one answered; visited the office and rang the desk bell several times; no one came but you could hear people talking.

States "free breakfast" but upon checking in told no breakfast because of covid. Other budget friendly motels offered "bagged" breakfasts. Classified as a "budget friendly room" at $80 is way to much for this place. STAY AWAY.

Came over and started filming my group’s 3 vehicles and told us that she would see us in court? We did nothing! Pulled up to check in and was threatened with legal action

Room was not clean had one face cloth and two bath towels used soap and shampoo in the bathroom. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Absolutely horrible motel. Owner is a thief, he mentioned nothing about cancelation fees, lied to me saying he told my wife last night there are cancelation fees. When mind you it was booked 2 hours before I called back and canceled (today) there was no phone call last night. Also after booking he then told us there were charges for dogs, which we wouldn’t of booked if we new that and his prices are higher for pets than others I’ve stayed at.
All and all I can say a tent on the side of the road would be better than staying at this motel!

From other reviews this seems like a mixed bag place to stay.
My experience was a clean room with hardwood floors (thank goodness, carpet is gross anywhere).
There was a fridge and microwave which I appreciate as I like to travel on a tight budget (most of the time).
No breakfast, and this was understood and accepted.
Bed was fine, linens clean. Anyone who cannot sleep on the bed I had is used to high end mattresses and needs to pay for that kind of hotel/motel. It certainly was not a 10 year old futon from Ikea.
Staff were friendly. I was not expecting super-star 5 star service, just solid responses to my questions. They are not there 24/7 from what I can tell, so consider not getting yourself locked out of the room (which I did, but they were there during the day).

The one less star is because the shower water took 5 minutes to get warm, and it was a really sparing 'shower' of water. Which if it takes 5 minutes to get hot water, a lot of water is wasted in waiting so having a super low flow shower is now self-defeating. The shower curtain had obvious mold at its base.but it doesn't move or attack so that's fine by me.

I have stayed in worse, for more money when traveling in Europe.

It’s cheap, looks tired, however, it was clean, comfy and had a fridge, microwave and air conditioner. For an overnight stop as somewhere to sleep worth the risk.

A dumpy place. Poor customer service. Spend a few bucks more and avoid the cheapest hole you can find.

Would NOT recommend! Stayed there on the weekend, there was a used bandaid in the middle of the floor, an old take out container with food in it in the freezer, and the floors turned the bottom of our feet black. I won't even mention the walkie talkie we found stuffed in the couch needless to say we slept on top of the blankets that night

Upon entering the main office linens were scattered amongst the floor on loveseat and laundry basket, nail clippers and garbage on check in desk. Our room had stained sheets, and garbage still in our room on top of the microwave and fridge. The window air conditioner had cardboard between window frame and conditioner. My husband and his friend, while standing by their truck, were approached by a woman who was interested in a cigarette and more. Anyway, we asked to cancel our stay and still paid $132.00. The owners didn’t seem to care much of our experience. They did however take the garbage out they missed but could not guarantee our safety with the window conditioner/cardboard.

100% would not recommend this place.

Dirty rooms. Legit blood on desk. And bed was almost so uncomfortable nd nasty I couldn't do it. Everything was very outdated and broken. Shower was broke too only cold water is all I could get. It's a cheap stay so you get what u pay for.

We were there on Sat. Aug. 21/2021 for one night before getting Ferry for NFLD. Cannot even give it one star the rooms were discussing bed had a piece of plywood under mattress on one corner as frame was bent. When booked they said a free breakfast when we got there we were told there was nothing for breakfast. We were a group of 7 cars. I can tell you none of these 14 people would ever stay there again. They say non smoking rooms, first room they gave us, all you could smell was smoke. Later that night they rented that room out to 4 young people for a party. Would highly recommend anyone even thinking of this place to go else. I don't see how they are even allowed to be open with rooms like that and the service. Just terrible. Only reason for the 1 star is it would not post unless I picked a star.what a set up and a joke.

I gave it one star for the nice gentleman who checked me in and for being able to pay without a credit card.worse sleep I've ever had, I twisted and turned all nite and my back hurt the whole day after trying to sleep in that bed. Furniture was damaged and it looked awful and smelled of beer and cigarettes but it was supposed to be a none smoking room.not impressed: (
