Horrible amenities and kept our $100 deposit for incidentals! The gym and pool were filthy and the air conditioning was broken. We were never refunded out deposit. Very dodgy place. - do not recommend.

Edit - 3 weeks later and my $100 incidentals deposit has not been refunded. No proof of charge back provided. I have sent multiple emails and contacted the front desk. If you have stayed here I would recommend checking your credit card! So suspicious

As someone who has worked in the hotel industry. The overall look and feel of the hotel was great. Service from the front desk was slow but courteous. The restaurant served great food.

However the microwave in our room was dirty it appeared that no one wiped it down and the ice bucket had a layer of dust. The water to the building was to be shut off from noon to 3 (we were not informed at time of booking) but that was manageable however the water did not come back on till almost 7 and then the pipes had to be cleared which took even longer. Not something that should be done on a busy weekend without knowledge to traveling guest.

Would stay here again as I know these were just oversights of the staff. The water they had no control but the rooms need to be checked better because if they are missing those what else could they be missing

Nice staff, gave free cookies and water. Rooms were average. Half an hour from downtown halifax but conveniently close to the airport. YOu have to cross a toll bridge to get to Downtown Halifax, paying both ways. Nice pool but ok workout room. No free breakfast.

We had a generally pleasant stay for one night in one queen. Our room was impressively clean. Immaculate housekeeping. There is a coffee machine and a microwave there, too.

AC is quite loud, to be honest, it scared us throughout the night.

It is sad that the price of parking and breakfast is not included in the booking as we would expect these expenses to be covered by a general bill. Otherwise, it feels like cheap service.

The restaurant on the first floor serves food with a quality of far below average while the prices are quite high. One would expect a lower price for a hotel customer.

Other than that, a nice deal and pleasant night. Nice location if you want to have a stroll downtown.

Pool is under major construction! Call before you book. Very disappointing for a guest who paid up front for the stay with children. Beds are uncomfortable.

I am revising my experience from a few years ago.

Pros: great waitresses and food in restaurant was very good. Water and cookies given at check-in
Cons: Room key did not work, front desks guys were nice and tried to assign another room quickly BUT.room had a dirty floor with hair balls, and other things on floor. Obviously was not cleaned / vacuumed. Room did not have creamer for coffee. Coffee, supplies and a clean room mean a lot to me when traveling. Only rating a 2 as I expect more from a Hilton Garden.

We were able to check in early, which was about the only good thing other than the location, which the hotel staff has nothing to do with. We were given a room that already had people in it, then, while we were sorting that out the fire alarm started going off the first time. It was because of construction going on in the building but the way the Maintenance Manager (front desk told me who he was) was running around you would think the building was actually on fire. He pushed me out of the way as he was running down the hall. He should have been the least panicked person in the building. When I asked front desk who he was and explained that he pushed me, she laughed. When we brought the severely freezer burnt food down to the front desk that was left in our fridge by a previous guest she didn't say anything at all. We actually had to say, "you're not going to say anything? ! " And her colleague responded for her and later gave us free breakfast.
The restaurant has a kids menu with grilled cheese with bacon for breakfast and grilled cheese without bacon for lunch/supper both for $10. They wouldn't give us grilled cheese with bacon for supper. Our server at supper was blah. Our server at breakfast was overwhelmed (not her fault) but she definitely let it show with how rude she was.
Just don't expect any customer service here, I guess, and you'll be fine.

Loved everything about our stay. Our flight arrived at 3: 36 in the morning so I had booked the room from the day before using Hilton Honors points and cash. It was the perfect place to rest our weary heads for a few hours. The 12: 00 check-out was greatly appreciated. I love the online check-in and digital key options which are so convenient! We had lunch at the Cannery. The food and service were both great! We would happily stay here again. It’s a beautiful accommodation.

Very disappointed with this hotel. Not only is it expensive relative to the quality of room and facilities, they do a poor job of house cleaning. We booked this hotel for both our departure to Cancun and arrival back to Canada. Upon our return, we checked in and were shocked to find human waste and toilet paper in the toilet. It could not be flushed either since the water was near the top of the bowl. They changed our rooms, the new toilet worked, however, the inside of the bowl was not cleaned properly and there was a small speck of human waste. To top it all off, the bathroom sink was clogged as well. After 13 hours of travel we were too exhausted to change rooms again. I recommend you look elsewhere for accommodations if you're flying in or out of Halifax.

I booked a night at the Hilton due to a late flight change. Paying with a debit card I understood they would hold an extra $100 for damage possibilities but when I checked out they did not refund me the $100.00. I had to call this hotel 3 times over a 2 week period regarding this and was promised I would get a cheque in the mail. I did not. Its been 45 days and I had paid $400.00 for a 1 night stay in a typical hotel room with terrible internet and TV service. Not worth it. Terrible customer service.

Stayed for the shuttle, left with itchy bites on my upper left arm. The hallways are kept at meat locker temperature. I Have had some experiences with bed bugs in the past so when I woke up with bites on my left shoulder, first thing I did was lift the mattress protector only to find a huge stain. Will not stay again.

Update. Contacted Hilton. Basically said they'de contact the hotel and let them know. Did nothing else to compensate the abbhorent stay.

Nothing about the stay just about the food quality and quantity for 21 dollars the nachos were poorly made, would have let them know but the server took a while to come back and ask if we were alright. Service was sub par.

This place is a joke, $324 per night and they charge you for water. It's in the middle of nowhere. Their shuttle driver looks to be about 80 so he has difficulty with luggage and his he wear his mask on his chin, mouth and nose exposed. That'll stop covid!

Overpriced for the spartan accommodations. Hotel restaurant too small to accommodate guests when hotel is full. We had to change rooms due to a toilet issue, lost an hour over it, asked to be compensated, and were not. Recommend searching for lower priced hotel at the Halifax Airport.

Hôtel d'aéroport pratique et accessible (navette) ; souvent fréquenté par le passé sans réserve ; ce séjour (arrivée de nuit après un vol de longue durée) nous a cependant très déçu vu la qualité de la chambre qui nous a été attribuée ; a priori le ménage de cette chambre n'avait pas été terminé après le précédent séjour: les draps du lit n'avaient pas été changés, pas de papier toilette dans la salle de bain mais surtout cabinet bouché qui a occasionné un débordement de celui-ci au premier usage. Après réclamation auprès de la réception, nous avons eu un service minimum de mauvaise grâce pour éponger le plancher et la mise à disposition d'une ventouse pour déboucher le toilette nous même. Nous avons récupéré nous même une boite de kleenex sur un chariot de ménage abandonné dans le couloir pour nos besoins de toilette. Malgré notre réclamation auprès de la réception le matin lors du check-out, aucun geste commercial de la part de l'établissement. Ce sera notre dernier séjour dans cet établissement.
Convenient and accessible airport hotel (shuttle) ; often frequented in the past without reserve ; this stay (arrival at night after a long flight) was however very disappointing given the quality of the room allocated to us; a priori the cleaning of this room had not been completed after the previous stay: the sheets of the bed had not been changed, no toilet paper in the bathroom but above all the toilets blocked which caused an overflow of it of this at first use. After complaining to the reception, we had a bad grace minimum service to mop the floor and the provision of a plunger to unclog the toilet ourselves. We got ourselves a box of Kleenex from an abandoned cleaning cart in the hallway for our toilet needs. Despite our complaint to the reception in the morning during check-out, no commercial gesture on the part of the establishment. This will be our last stay at this hotel.

The pool water was green and cloudy and we woke to find ants ALL over the floor. The must have came out overnight looking for food from our bags. Unfortunately the kids had two backpacks on the floor that were covered in ants. We had to throw them out when we arrived at airport because they had gotten on the inside too and we’re crawling over the bins in security. The front desk staff were unphased by our complaint. I emailed and called the hotel manager over a day ago with no response. 10/10 do not recommend. We are not complainers and not hard to please but I would hate to have anyone experience what we did. My son is petrified of bugs. This was literally his worst nightmare.

It is perhaps the worst service I have ever received and certainly not worthy of a Hilton. Staff was unable to deal with a plumbing problem in our room, took over 1 hour to find another room (there were plenty of vacancies), gave us misinformation and sent us to a variety of 'wrong' rooms. When we got to a room, they forgot to tell maintenance/housekeeping it was now occupied which led to an embarrassing moment when staff entered the room without knocking and got a good view of a naked occupant. When reporting a problem with the public restroom, I was told I needed to report it to housekeeping. Apparently the front desk clerk could not interrupt her call to do that for me!

I really feel bad for him the Hotel management should take some action against him so that it near happen again, everyone has the right to be treated equally it does matter but color religion or any other factor.

Hotel is unkept, grass is not mowed, lobby was dirty, room was dirty, no pressure in the shower and no hot water. I had a not so enjoyable cold shower before my 7: 20am flight. Nothing like waking up at 4am and taking a cold shower.

If there was a minus I would give them that. Came in on a late flight. Arrived at the hotel at 3 AM to be told that our rooms had not been cleaned. We had 5 rooms booked. No manager on site to deal with any of it. What a disaster! The guy at the front desk and his supervisor said they were going up to clean the room at 3 AM! We will see what sort of discount they give us if anything when the manager comes in tomorrow. Completely disgraceful!

We checked in to this not so cheap hotel on Monday. The first room we checked in had a strong smell of cigarets, hair on the floor and dust all over the lamps. They switched us to a different room- no smell but the bathroom was disgusting. Someone else' hair all over the bathroom floor, fecal matter around the toilet rim, and we found blood on the pillow case (which means they did not change either the sheets or pillow cases). We brought this to the management's attention and they did absolutely nothing. In fact, the next day when we were checking out, we asked to speak to the manager on duty, not only she did not bother to come out and see us in person, she did not bother calling us to apologize. I travel a lot and I never ever experienced anything this bad. Very poor customer service and the place needs a good cleaning! I would not recommend this place to anybody.

Disappointing. The room was dirty. There were dust bunnies all over. Candy wrappers, pretzels, crainsins were littered around. The surface areas were sticky from food spills. It was as if the room hadn't been vacuumed, mopped, or wiped in a month. I ended up cleaning the surfaces myself, wished I had a vacuum and a mop. The bathroom also smelled like mildew. We stayed in a 2 beds room. One of the bed was made up where the fitted sheet was inside out; hopefully, it was clean and not just turned over. The front desk was covered with office paperwork. Some one finally checked us in without a greeting and with the least amount of interaction as possible. Everything was not what I had come to expect from a Hilton. It was a very disappointing experience and a tainted first impression of Nova Scotia. Would not recommend it.

I am currently staying at the hotel of Hilton Garden Inn close to the Halifax Airport since I am a redeployed employee of the WestJet Airlines employee. Today August 26,2022 at 5: 30 pm, this is unfortunate to say but I had the worst experience and encounter with a mere shuttle driver. He was not only mean or rude to me but very reckless, highly racist opinionated. This man spoke to me in an unnecessary highly pitch voice: to not come into his shuttle if I’ve no intend to! How does he know that I’ve no intend? I was kindly and patiently waiting for a ride back to the hotel, gentleman enough to let the ladies go first. And this is how I was being treated? Is this how the hotel train their employees to treat clients? Highly disappointed in how uneducated and unmannered this person was. I do hope management will take action so no one has to face this trouble like I did.

First off I will acknowledge the front desk staff and supervisor for being extremely friendly, understanding and helpful and as always a mention of gratitude to the housekeepers and hotel workers for the work they do.

That all said this hotel has a toxic employee who needs to be removed. The shuttle bus driver (Super old guy) who is extremely rude. I stayed at this hotel for multiple days and experienced a variety of drivers, all providing outstanding service with the exception of this one.
My experience with this shuttle driver ruined my experience with the Hilton.
The shuttle states runs every 30 minutes, being a bit late is understandable however when I am waiting well before 7pm for the on the hour shuttle and it does not arrive till nearly 7: 30 and then the old man driver deicides to exit the bus for a chat before reentering to sit there an additional 5-10 minutes before departing, as a result I did not arrive at the hotel until nearly 7: 40. As long as this man is operating this bus, your on time performance is gone and your guest experience is at risk.
The first occasion I experienced this driver he actually engaged in arguing with me, refusing to allow me to board the bus, insinuating I am not a guest at the Hilton and purposely pushing my bag to the ground upon arrival to the hotel AND pointing his finger at me demanding I do not touch bus doors (which I was no where near).

The level of service provided by this driver was beyond unacceptable. I will avoid this hotel on future trips to Halifax due to this experience.

Beware of this hotel if traveling with babies and toddlers. The (only) restaurant is not child friendly. While waiting to be sat at a table, a sour looking waitress asked if we were picking up take out (indicating we weren't welcome. What a welcome.). When i said we weren't, she immediately said you can't come in here with the wagon (my 1 and 3 yr olds were sat in one). I told her it's not a problem as it folds down small. She then argued with me about where I could leave it. I would have preferred to keep it in eyesight but oh no, that wasn't acceptable. She then gestured and said your table is over there. I had no idea where she meant to asked her where and she just gestured again. There was nothing friendly or welcoming about this woman. She was extremely rude. If we had somewhere else to go we would have but it had been a long day on the road. Thankfully our waitress was polite. The rude waitress came back again after we were seated to tell me to pick my 1 yr old off the floor. He was restless and wanted to move so i did try to keep him up. All in all we were treated poorly. Stay in the Quality Inn if you have young kids. They have a restaurant.

Very busy place and staff are non responsive to requests but keep promising they will sort out things. 3 days room not cleaned with toe nails on the floor. Had to clean room for myself by asking a hoover. Gym air on was broken and they have no toss about it. Bad standard for a Hilton.

Stayed here since I have a really early flight, it’s down the street from the airport.

Took a King room. Minor black mold/mildew In the corner of the tub. The drain of the tub wasn’t draining properly while showering. Small inconveniences.

Tv system is old, takes forever to change channels. It needs a new interface.

Other than that it’s a decent establishment. Not sure I would stay here again.

Very dirty bed, sheets were not changed, top sheet was halway down the bed, bedskirt was not on right, sink clogged, curtain hanging off track, maitence guy walked in without knocking, air conditioner didn't work, phone didn't work, staff was not helpful, hair on sheets had to change sheets myself due to full hotel, no new rooms available, they gave me $50 off room and free breakfast, unbelievable and disgusting, $289 plus tax for this room, the staff do not have respect for cleanliness or the fact that they work at a Hilton hotel

I choose hotel for rest it’s means I need to have a rest, and I want to sleep! Why knock the door at 9 in the morning and ask are you gonna stay over? I really don’t get it!

The hotel was extremely dirty. We had to change rooms 2 times (three rooms total). The first room had ants all over the floor, used toiletries, popcorn on the floor (hello, ants), and a spare mattress blocking the bathroom. The staff member at the front counter promptly changed rooms for us; however the second room had a dirty washroom (as in used towels all over the floors and fecal matter still in the toilet). The staff member promptly changed the rooms again, and came up to check the old and new room. The third room was clean, although the coffee was not restocked. At that point we called it a night and accepted stopping for coffee the next day; as we felt we asked enough of the very diligent staff member.

We will not be staying again. What a waste of $350 bucks.

The room we checked into was overall pretty clean till we checked the beds. My family are not picky people at all, but this THREE star hotel had hairs and dirt on the pillows and the bedsheets. It seems as though they did not change the bedding after the last family who stayed there. Very disappointing for what the rating of this hotel is. Please fix your cleaning issue.

I lived here with my friend for one night, but it’s the worst living experience we ever had before. Firstly, the showerheads is broken and shampoo is empty! Secondly, the air conditioner always make a big noise for whole night! Finally, someone knocked our door at 9 am. A man in black T-shirt knocked door and ask me if we will stay over or not, I said no and he said if you need anything please let me know. I do not why they need to knock out door at 9 am to ask me this! Not make sense! Be careful!

Some mold in bathroom, poor front desk communication, and an unusual hotel/restaurant relationship (for a Hilton Garden) : they’re totally separate, can’t even find a menu for the restaurant in the room, and free breakfast, if you’re Hilton Honors, is an unappealing looking buffet, instead of the usual a la carte hot. But it gets the job done if you need to stay close to the airport.

Booked 5 rooms and paid in advance over $1000. Showed up and they had no rooms for anyone. Including another 10 people who also were stranded in the lobby.

EDIT: Nice response. Except I didn’t “stay” with you. You didn’t honour the booking that we paid for and I had to sleep on the floor of the airport. Honestly anyone thinking of booking with you in the future needs to STAY AWAY.

We stayed at this hotel 3 times in the span of one month and had very different experiences.

The first stay was great and we had no issues. On the second stay, the first room they gave us had a strong musty/mouldy smell so we asked to change rooms. The second room had clearly been smoked in that day as it had a very strong cigarette smoke smell so we had to ask to move again and the last room was fine.

Just checked in again tonight hoping that the last experience was a one off and the room hadn't been cleaned fully. The last occupants soap bar was still in the shower and it appeared as though the shower hadn't been cleaned at all. Also had half melted ice still in the ice bin.

I've stayed here many times in the past and always had good experiences so hopefully they sort this out.

Took a one day trip with my friend to visit Halifax. The hotel was close to the airport and provides a free shuttle to and from the hotel. The shuttle runs every hour and half an hour, so you have to wait 30 minutes if you miss a shuttle. The rooms were renovated and looks modern. It was overall pretty clean. The washroom was also clean, but the shower did not really work very well. During the night the water pressure keeps changing due to other rooms using water at the same time, to the point where there were times when it was just slow stream of water coming out. The temperature of the water also changes for the same reason and hot water was pretty much nonexistent. Tested out the shower again at 6am in the morning and the water was actually hot, I'm guessing because no one else was awake at that time. The bed was comfortable, and the stay was not bad. I probably would not go back again or recommend it to my friends because of the showers though.

Well where to begin. Checked in to hear a dog barking none stop. Get to the second floor and the ice machine is out of order, go
To the 3rd floor, out of order. No shampoo in the shower, the ironing board and a piece of metal that pushed through the top and ripped my shirt. Called asked for more hangers and was told they didn’t know if they had anymore, never received a call back to let me know either way. I’ve stayed in many Hilton hotels but this was felt like a dirty John Smith Inn.
