Good enough for a business travel stay.

Upon arrival, the clerk was very stressed and disoriented.

When it was time to take my security deposit he pulled out this twisted mess of cables and a massive looking machine which was missing the pen, and was not even turned on.

He then attempted to figure out this wire mess, stuff is falling around, he is repeatedly telling me sorry, running around plugging unplugging things… go figure…
Anyways- must be newly hired… no biggy.

But when he goes “Eum sir, do you have a debit card? ” I’m like …? !? What? Why? No I prefer visa, clearly after seeing this odd machine he pulled out out of nowhere… smelled scammy… but he figured it out.

As for the hotel, hallway had only a light smell of urine, but it disappears once you’re in your unit.

As for the unit, clean overall… sheets did not reek off javel, neither did the towels, which is only 2/10 alarming…
But besides that, the bathroom only had 6 or 13 stray pubes sprinkled around and in the shower base, but easily flushed down the drain.

Now, it was very windy during my stay and the wind kept whistling thru the windows which was pretty annoying… but the weird metal clanking on the ac… was worst.

Oh and no pubes were located in the bed!

Overall typical hotel room! Good price for the value.

The view was wonders, the sweet sweet sound of the highway:)

I hope I am being useful to someone in their decision to stay!

Oh and yea, why would housekeeping knock on my door at 8am? Usually during check in they tell you when they clean up and if they clean up at all during an extended stay unless it’s requested. She lucky she didn’t walk in, I mean what if I was nakey?

Booked online (on their website) and was called at 730am the next day (day of check-in) and was told that there were no rooms available and that the website messed up.
I called back and spoke with the manager who basically said that sucks, tough luck, sometimes this happens. When a stay is booked on their website, you expect that you will have a place to stay.now waiting 3-5 business days for return of the money I spent for a hotel room that wasn't available to begin with.

My husband and I had a wonderful getaway which we both needed very much. The staff was very accommodating. The complimentary breakfast is always very, very good. Lots of variety and tasty. My husband and our adult children had a blast on the waterslide at the Hotel's pool. I had so much fun just watching them.

It is clean and comfortable. There are stores and restaurants around. Good location and very pleased with their service.

Overall experience was fine except the breakfast. The breakfast staff is very rude not cooperative. I was just 1-2 minutes late when they closed the doors before the specified time. Even the food was still at table and was not taken over. Some people were still having their breakfast inside. They were yelling at me that it is closed. I even offered them to let me take a cup of juice to my room but they didn’t gave it to me. I spent to much money for 5 days stay. They could even deal this situation in a nice way but they didn’t want to.

When me and my friends decided to visit Halifax we decided to stay over this hotel and staying here was a good decision. The front desk were nice. The morning breakfast was always filled regardless of how many people are there to get foods the cooks somehow managed to never let any food be empty. Rooms arent that spacious for kids to be running around, well atleast the one we got, but it was enough for all our baggages. They got whole body mirrors which are nice when deciding what to wear. Outside the place, they have chairs and tables where you can seat and enjoy the cool October breeze or the warm summer breeze. They also have gym and a swimming pool. A definite plus.

In conclusion we had a blast staying here.

Clean and comfortable rooms. Very inviting lobby. My only suggestion would be a refresh on the pool area.

Stayed 3 nights, check in first night at 5: 00pm our room we ordered was still not ready so we were put into another room that had a broken bed and no towels, was put into another room where the toilet was stuck and kept running, the T. V.did not work and the window blind was broken. Complained to front desk, they could not fix it until the morning. I wired the toilet handle up so we could get some sleep. We stayed a total of 3 nights during which time they never made the bed or cleaned our room we even had to ask for clean towels daily. They allow patrons to smoke out the front of the hotel so every time you went out you got covered in cigarette smoke. In addition to their high rates they also charge Marketing Levy and Eco Fees, something they do not include on there quote. It would appear there is no maintenance and very poor housekeeping. If your staying in Halifax or area I would highly recommend you find an alternative accommodation.

Even an average hotel is worth staying when you experience good customer service… BIG FAIL! There was an issue with payment and which credit card it should go on so I called to clarify it making sure our older family members don’t get charged when it was already processed in my credit card. Guest attendant was sweet and asked me to call back to talk to the manager. The manager was unprofessional and demanding that I sort out the problem on my own and it was not their fault. Yes it was. They failed to follow the consent form and failed to ask for another credit card. I wasn’t looking to argue over $221 that went towards my family, just wanted to clarify the payments before they check out. The manager doesn’t have any customer service skills to apologize for the error and explain how to sort it out. This lady desperately needs some classroom time on how to provide good customer service skills and be a professional.

I am here for the week for work. Starting off poorly. Gym does not open until 7am, which does not work if you are here on business. My night stand clearly had not been cleaned, as the last guests glass Mark's were visible. Black smudge on the bathroom light switch. My fridge had an ice bucket full of water (guessing also from last guest). The shower walls had a few dark hairs and a fake eyelash. The roller blind is crocked, so the room is not dark. (The staff at the front desk did attempt to fix it. Ask for extra hangers, as not enough for my work clothing. Got off the elevator to bags of garbage.

We stayed a total of 6 nights and WOULD NOT STAY AGAIN. Carpet was dirty, bathroom was smelly and tiles stained. Mini fridge did not cool well. We needed to recode keys every single night as we would get home after a long day and have to walk to front desk to have both keys recoded. Overall a terrible experience at this location. I would not stay again and certainly would not recommend.

Average hotel. Good size room and clean. But service/staff not the best. Asked for an extra blanket for the night and they said they're out, provided sheets instead. Complained about a machine noise that went on and off, day and night, and no one cared to provide an answer or even come up to the room to see what it is or try to resolve it. Had to keep the AC fan on all night as white noise to be able to sleep.
In reply to owner response: I was one of two. The reservation was under the other person's name.

Stayed there for a whole week and no housekeeper for a single day! Imagine 4 people living in a room using the same washroom without cleaning for one week. That was disgusting and upon asking they said due to Covid we are not providing housekeeping. This should have been communicated at the time of booking because it would’ve impacted my decision. Very disappointed!

DO NOT STAY HERE!

I will repost this review since the owner is refusing to accept that I stayed at this hotel, I have included my original review below as well as the owners comments.

I would like to point out that yes of course the owner says that there is no Max Hearn staying there because I was not the one who registered with the hotel that was my spouse.

But yes I didn't fax stay at this location further as evidence of this and I'm sure the owner of course will continue to deny but I would like an explanation of the caution tape in all four corners of your pool the cut-up scratchy area of the water slide the disgusting deplorable state of the hot tub and the fact that it wasn't even hot because the heater doesn't work I was polite in my last review however denying the fact that I stayed there is not acceptable this facility needs to accept responsibility for its extreme shortcomings housekeeping staff for excellent they did insure my room was clean and for the most part it was there's still some whiskers from the previous user in the sink of the bathroom that's okay that can be missed rinse clean don't have to worry but the rudeness of the staff was completely inexcusable telling me my child was crying too loudly for them not other guests for them the staff.
Carmilla the manager was nothing but rude to myself and my spouse Upon Us checking out which is inexcusable for someone in the hospitality industry.

Further I learned today that an old acquaintance of mine was staying there after his house had burned down and due to some opinion of said manager they were forcibly evicted no warning no advance notice just told to get out. I've even went as far as to investigate this a little the gentleman was fully paid up there was no reason for the hotel to evict him for lack of a better word I'm glad that someone called the news to put this place on the spot something has to change remove that manager and get better staff.

I would highly recommend against anyone staying here do yourself a favor go elsewhere where better services are provided it's your vacation or personal time and these people don't seem to care

I visited Halifax and stayed in the holiday inn Express, they are pet friendly, I had an amazing time, very friendly and professional staff, the place is very clean and welcoming, until unfortunately i was approached by the general manager, she is rude and very abrupt, sadly i would say this: she is the only person that I have met during my visit to Nova Scotia that was rude and not kind and if I can add this as a message to her (communication is one thing but your tone while communicating with someone is everything)
I hope this message will be an opportunity for an improvement.

DO NOT STAY HERE.
We came here with a group of about 25 people and 4 of our rooms had to be changed 3 times! On top of that, their approach to the situation was absolutely terrible. There was no hospitality whatsoever. One of our rooms had a bloodstain on the sheets and they told us it was probably just ketchup.ridiculous. There was also hair all over the washroom floors and used up toilet paper. The bathroom door wouldn’t close and the flush wouldn’t work. On top of that, when we were about to leave the hotel we noticed that our car’s side mirror had been literally poked and broken by someone. When we asked to see the security cameras, the general manager would not even get up out of her chair. She did nor care about helping anyone. All the operations manager could do was apologize and blame the hospitality staff even when it is their responsibility to make sure everything is in order. This should never have been an issue, especially after they have been running this place for years. We had the worst experience at this hotel and I wouldn’t recommend anyone to stay there. Save yourself, your well earned money and peace of mind - don’t book with them!

DO NOT STAY HERE. Absolutely horrible experience. Manager was completely unhelpful and instead was laughing in the back when we had to switch rooms 3 different times and our car window got damaged on their property. Management running this hotel is absolutely horrible and did not care at all about her customers. Absolutely no sense of customer service and just acted like nothing in her hotel was her problem. Managers like her should not be in charge. Workers at customer service were trying their best to help but their manager was just so unhelpful and didn’t do much just wasted our time.
