I stayed from 3rd Nov to 1st Dec 2022. I had a worst experience with the Hotel. There are charging even for room cleaning after we check out and the worst part is they will not even update you on the charge.we need to call them and wait for almost 30 mins to understand the reason for the charge in your card.

Perfect place to stay during time in halifax.
Room equiped with full kicthen setup and complimentary breakfast to start the day.

Front desk is responsive in case you have additional request.

Without a doubt, the most disgusting rooms I have ever stayed in. First room had blood stains, dust, dead insects, stains on the carpet and floors, second room wasn't much better; stains everywhere, lack of cleaning. Just gross.

Room was nice but for 300$ a night the room wasn't very clean, clothes left from previous guests in the drawers, toiletries left in the bathroom drawers, There was black grime beside the fridge and on the floor as soon as you opened the refrigerator door. My last morning here after a three night stay the fire alarm faulted out and started going off the staff could not get it turned off. After 45 minutes of listening to it go off maitance came and just took the entire alarm off the wall. Very annoying starting my day with a migraine, I mentioned it to the front desk at check out and they offered to take the two drinks I had on room service off the bill, overall not a great experience for the amount of money you pay for a suite.

Room fine, was clean, breakfast was standard hotel breakfast,
Only concern was WiFi, extremely hard to log in, and when connected it would keep dropping off and took time to get back on WiFi

Had a great and pleasant stay at Homewood Suites. Kind and helpful staff. All the basic amenities were provided in the hotel room that made our stay easier and memorable. Thanks

Absolute disgrace. Horrible customer service they could care less. They overbook the hotel and parking and then make you pay parking when you cant even get into the garage and force you to park on the street. They are terrible. We have never had a good experience. The TV's are completely off and they put on a show that they are a top notch hotel. Please do not listen to this. You can find better.

We usually love the Homewood. There’s really no reason to stay at this location however. Staff were inattentive and seemed to be bothered if we anything for anything. No hello as you come in and out past the desk. Internet didn’t work well, there is a lag between the audio and video on the TV. Accessible parking is in an adjacent building. Staff should check if the dishwasher cycle had run before putting guests in a room.

I did try to speak with the front staff twice about our concerns but there were other distraught guests at the counter and I didn’t have time to wait:)

I’m going to guess they are facing some serious staffing issues here.

Awesome hotel.easy early check in. The room was better than expected as it was larger as it had a full kitchen (dishwasher, full fridge, stove top, kitchen table w/chairs, and dishes & cutlery, living room with a foldout bed and a separate room with a king size bed with a full bathroom. We had 2 small dogs and it was quiet. It included FULL breakfast as there were so.nany choices. It was delicious atart to the morning. Highly recommend.

Worst place in dealing with people. Few front desk folks have lot of attitude issues, particularly towards people who are overseas first time. Pathetic. During Fiona, they put their residents to struggle without power and water for 3 days. While the power situation is understandable, not having power backup for water was a complete miss from Hotel management, they haven't alerted the residents prior about the potential water issue also. Besides dealing with people who are stressed out due to the issue was also very bad. Overall worst experience. Not even worth for one star.

We were unhappy with our stay here. Waited a very long time to be checked in at the front desk while two staff members helped one couple check-in, leaving me waiting for about 15-20 mins. Room was spacious, but there was a very strong smell of food in the entire unit which we assume was from the previous guests. It didn't disappear at all during our stay and we found it uncomfortable and made the whole place feel unclean.
The elevators were a NIGHTMARE, we were constantly waiting ages for the elevator, there are only two for the whole building (? !), and they are small so everyone had to squish into them. People with baggage frequently couldn't fit and would have to continue to wait for another elevator.
We were also disappointed with the parking situation, as the hotel's car park was full so we had to park off-site and move our car. This ended up being expensive and inconvenient, although it is worth noting that the hotel charges 25$ a day to park in their car park - absolutely extortionate and such a scam.
The location of this hotel is the best thing about it, but I would recommend staying somewhere else.

Loved the room. Much better than what I was expecting. A free meal on Wednesday evening for us and our visitor was a nice welcoming touch that was offered. A large enough breakfast selection as well.

DO NOT BOOK HERE. Save your $330+ per night. I'm extremely disappointed with the cleanliness of the rooms. My parents stayed in another room and that room reeked of ethnic food and urine. So we requested a room change but got rejected since the hotel was full. They promised it would be cleaned once again but I only encountered a young man with a Lysol disinfectant spray who said it wasn't his job to clean. I'm quite sure this place isn't vacuumed or cleaned properly.the elevators had sticky floors and there were piles and spots of garbage in several places including halls and rooms. Also, the front desk doesn't answer the phone so you will have to physically go to the main lobby to speak with anyone. I have been really impressed with Hilton franchise until I visited here. Extremely disgusted with this place.

Went to a conference here so didnt see much of the building. The staff at the frint desk were very friendly and the bottom floor and coference room were immaculate. Everything well stocked in the mini fridges and tons of freshly clean cups and such.

Not happy that there is an extra charge for room cleaning. Personally, this is the only hotel that I've been to that requires an optional additional fee to clean your room ($25/day). Parking isn't the cheapest and most readily available as well ($25/day also I believe).

There are two elevators that are very slow and often there were line ups of up to 10-15 guests waiting for an elevator at the lobby, and people stranded with their luggage at every floor unable to get into an elevator that was constantly full. Certain times it wasn't bad, but they definitely need to upgrade to faster or more elevators to accommodate the amount of guests staying there.

Overall, it was still a nice place with nice staff and a good breakfast, but there are a few issues that certainly need to be addressed.

Hilton chain should be embarrassed. We checked in late in the evening after a full day of flying to Halifax. Exhausted and tired.just what we needed: a room with sticky floors, stained carpet and sofa, dirty toilet and a bed that was questionable as to whether it had been changed.wrinkled sheets and pillowcases. This room had a kitchenette.unwashed dishes in dishwasher, no tea towels, dishcloths, or dishwasher pods. Spoke with front desk about this room.requested another one but couldn't be done due to completely booked. Housekeeping was promised for 10 a.m next morning.never showed. Went out and did touristy stuff.returned at 4: 30 p.m and room hadn't been touched. Found accommodation elsewhere.lucked out big time. Packed up and checked out. Awaiting news from Expedia re being re-imbursed.

Excellent choix pour le déjeuner et lit confortable. Parfait pour les utilisateurs de véhicule électrique. Il y a 2 bornes gratuites a 5 minutes de marche. Stationnement seulement 8$ pour la nuit sur une borne de niveau 2 (7Kw/hr). Chambre correct qui pourrait être rafraîchie. Manque plusieurs accessoires pour la cuisinette (pas de casserole, seulement chaudrons) et ne semblait pas adapter à une famille de cinq, table de cuisine vraiment trop petite. Pas assez de couverts dans la chambre. Très grande chambre qui gagnerait à une réorganisation.

I stayed here for 7 nights during a recent vacation. I was unpleasantly surprised that the suite with a harbour view that I booked had in fact a view of the construction next door. I don’t know how this hotel can continue to advertise a harbour view from their suites. Another challenge I had was with the cleanliness of the room. As you can read from other reviews, there’s a staffing issue at this hotel. This was apparent when I checked in to find hair in my suite and gunk in the shower. I didn’t even both requesting room service during my stay as I noticed it was same single staff member running everything around the hotel for customers, and I felt bad for him. The reason I am giving two stars is for the location. It’s walking distance to many things in the city and right next to the Citadel. However, in hindsight I would not have paid $330+ a night for this particular hotel.

We arrived at 3: 30 pm and immediately was greeted that our room wasn’t ready (check in is 3). After driving a very long distance it’s frustrating that there is a delay with the room. I was very polite about this and went exploring. Returned at around 5 or so and it still wasn’t ready. Told to wait 15 mins. Room itself was ok. Bed was squeaky and uncomfortable but the rest was fine. Then we’re told the pool is shut down. This was a reason for choosing it as we like to swim. Very annoyed at this point we just left to do our own thing. Return in the night only to have wifi not work. Very disappointed.

Homewood Suites is a really great hotel for families. Great staff, clean rooms, close to everything, and the hot breakfast is really enjoyable,
We missed the evening social (hot meals offered in the evening) so hopefully that's brought back before our next visit.

Keep up the great work!

Pathetic customer service experience by Ramneek (december 26th and 27th) and the breakfast staff. Did not explain anything about hotel facilities at the time of check in and was arguing with me while enquiring about the pool hours and did not even say sorry for the inconvenience caused.
Went to the breakfast buffet in the morning and server was like”you are not supposed to eat pork because you are brown. He was questioning my ethnicity he did the same with the other group members. Totally disappointed with the service.supervisor Amanda and night front desk staffs were very helpful!

Wonderful experience over Christmas. They followed all COVID rules and were warm and friendly. Great staff with terrific accommodations for our times. The suite was fully furnished.
