Front Desk services was amazing, espescially Patrick! He made our wonderful weekend we were hoping come true by looking after us on our Engagement Weekend. No complaints around the hotel and rooms. Only thing that was unfortunate was the parking, ended up costing 26 dollars a night.

Well located hotel in the center of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. It is easy to get to from the airport, the bus ride is 40 minutes.
It is embedded in a shopping center so it is very easy to get food.
Although the hotel is spacious, it is somewhat old, like from the 80's. The room service is TERRIBLE, they don't clean the rooms if you stay from 1 to 3 nights.
The hotel food is good and the waiter service is very good!

Stayed here recently and not only did we lose power and have to use the 14 flights of stairs to get to the lobby, but I also was lucky enough to be bitten by bed bugs. I have 4 huge welts on my arm after sleeping here…. I will NEVER return!

When you book, it says free parking, free breakfast.when you check out, they charged parking and breakfast.it was almost $100 more.
We found over-charge later and complained.
They corrected.but sketch.

We just stayed one night over a long weekend. The staff at the front desk were amazing, from booking to check out! Leah made our stay extra special and went above and beyond to help us. The restaurant and bar staff were also great. The pool was big with a nice deck area around it. A little cold but still fun. The beds were comfy. The rooms were a bit outdated but we didn't travel there to have a posh room, we were just happy that the beds were comfy and everything was clean. Conveniently located. Definitely will be staying again

We stayed here for four days in mid September and tth extra expense of staying in this downtown hotel was well worth the money spent.

As luck would have it, we were in Halifax when tropical storm Lee hit. We were "trapped" indoors, however the hotel connected to the extensive Halifax Harbour pedway so we were still able to wander many kilometers to get some exercise and watch the storm.

In the nice weather it is a very short walk to the Harbour Boardwalk where there is no end to food venues, restaurants, museums, and for the very adventurous the Farmers Market.

This hotel had the most comfortable and cozy bed in our entire holiday and the room was immaculate. We felt well taken care of.

There is an extra, daily charge for parking but that is to be expected with a downtown hotel

It Definitely is NOT a 4-STAR hotel.

2 nights and 4 rooms and all rooms were the same.

* Location is good for sure.
* At check-in time Reception was empty and it took 15-20 mins to check in - Unacceptable for a 4-start hotel
* Elevators are dated and seems like never been serviced/cleaned
* Rooms are OK, doesn't feel like again 4-star hotel rooms.
* Bathrooms - The Worst bathrooms I ever used (We stayed in a 2-star hotel and motels during our trip and "Hotel Halifax" hotel was the worst ever bathrooms of all) (I will upload a pic if it allows me to) - Literally one cannot wash hands without rubbing their hands with the sink, Toilets were like 50 years old {Not exaggerating at all}
* Parking - only P1 could accommodate Pickup trucks, all other parking floors have a maximum clearance of 5'11", not enough room for taller vehicles.

Absolutely NOT a four-star hotel. It's a low-three at best.

The rooms themselves are very dusty, the carpet is ripped, the chairs are stained and old, and the bathrooms are quite small. The staff are trying their best and they were very apologetic about the state of the hotel, but it should not be incumbent on the front line staff to handle complaints about rooms that have not been renovated in at least 15 years.

The location and breakfast are excellent, though.

The room wasn't ready for us. No sheets or pillows for the pull out couch or pillows. Also no towels. It took multiple requests and a full day to get everything and a blanket for the pull out never came. The kids had their cozy blankets so it wasn't a big problem. They also wouldn't replace our towels, just didn't, we are here 3 days and nothing dries because of poor ventilation. Pedestrian access to the boardwalk is very difficult. Not the hotels fault but the location isn't an advantage like they would have you believe. I guess I should be giving it 2 stars because it wasn't horrible but I spent the entire time wishing I'd booked a different hotel so that has had an effect on the review. As with other reviews the rooms are very run down and showing their age. We stayed here 15 years ago when it was the delta and it was showing its age then. I don't mind that too much really, it was clean enough and we aren't spending our time in the room. I don't like elevators being out, a mitigating factor is that there are housekeeping elevators so that helps when an elevator is out. Ownership is milking this place for every penny before they fix it up, don't reward bad management and go somewhere else.

Tres bel hotel, belle chambre, excellent service. En plus la location est parfaite pour se balader dans le centre ville de Halifax! Nous avons adoré!

In a fantastic location close to the waterfront with somewhat dated but very well kept rooms (the balcony and mini fridge being a bonus), however roomservice wasn't provided for our stay (not a huge deal breaker for me personally, though it would of been a huge plus). A reasonably sized workout gym and small indoor pool make this a lovely if a bit dated gem in the city of Halifax. The internet included was reasonable enough for basic HD (720p 60fps) video playback over YouTube was a pleasant surprise for me and anyone who wants to enjoy some streaming before bed, the chromecast compatible tvs are also a welcomed inclusion to the room. Direct access to Scotia Square made shopping for basic things very easy. Friendly staff on top of that made it a very pleasant stay overall.

Check in staff were friendly, efficient and helpful.

Our room was clean and the beds were comfy. The balcony was an unexpected surprise, but a great space to enjoy morning coffee while the rest of my family slept.

Really liked that it was attached to the Scotia Centre. We splurged to stay downtown so the food court and restaurants were great.

Having the hotel attached to the Scotia Centre meant we could effectively exit the hotel on Duke Street which was really nice because it was really hot and humid one of the days.

A microwave and a small table on the balcony would have made this stay a bit nicer, but it was great to be within walking distance of downtown.

Having a computer attached to a printer in the lounge made checking into our flight home and printing our boarding passes easy.

All in all a good sleep and and good place to stay.

Very disappointed with my stay. Flew in from Toronto for a work trip and the pictures online are nothing compared to what I saw in person. I clean room, dirty and smelly carpet, and the room location felt like I was in a dungeon. The hotel is outdated and needs a complete remodel. Didn’t know it was pet friendly, saw dog poo when I came out the elevators on the lobby floor. Called front desk to have the room situation resolved (re clean) no one came even though they said someone would. My mom and cousin got sick from the congested room (from smell and dust). I’m only giving it a 1 star because it was in a good location from my firm and the views of the harbour and city were nice. This hotel in Toronto would be considered a motel. Would never stay here not recommend it to anyone I know.

JBL portable speaker got stolen. Told the manager, she told me to make a police report with no concern that her staff are stealing from guests. Basically accused us of bringing it out with us and leaving it elsewhere. Who brings their speaker with them while they go out for lunch?
We have travelled to many parts of the world and have NEVER had anything stolen from our room. Manager said she would follow up with us, surprise surprise, she never did.
With that being said, obviously no safes in the room.
Stayed 4 nights and the sheets were not changed once. Had to constantly ask for towels and at least our beds made. Front desk offered that they bring sheets for me to change the bedding?
A/C didn't work at all. Had a really nice maintenance guy come in but it didn't fix the issue. IT WAS SO HOT that I couldn't sleep comfortably and they had no other rooms to move us to.
I would NOT recommend this hotel. There are so many better options downtown Halifax. Please reconsider if you are planning on booking here and want to have everything you came with.

1) We specifically requested a Harbour view room and spoke with someone on the phone to confirm our reservation. Upon check in, our unit is on the ground floor with a shared patio, facing the pool. When we asked to change, we were told it's not what was paid for. We asked if we could pay the difference for the room, since that was the main reason we stayed here, and were unable to change because it was completely booked. We were also told parking would be included, but wasn't until we voiced a complaint.

2) The blonde lady that works the evening shift (didn't get her name, she doesn't wear a name tag) was extremely unhelpful and dismissive of our concerns. **That being said, Marilia was kind and helpful.

3) Extremely dated room and elevator. The bed springs were popping out, wall paper is peeling off, the corner above the AC is moldy, stains on the curtains, carpet, etc. Very disappointing.

4) Again, the bed springs were popping out of the side of the bed. I brought it up to the front desk and they said they'd send someone asap/that day. My mom ended up scratching herself again the next morning. Maintenance came after we brought it up day 2 and did a quick fix with pliers, and were told the bed would be changed next day (after we check out.).

5) We had a patio on the ground floor. The patio stones were not level, so when walking on it they would wiggle and you trip. Extremely unsafe, and when brought to front desks attention was dismissed. I made sure to inform the maintenance guy when he came to view the bedsprings.

Overall, I would not come back.

DO NOT PARK YOUR CAR AT THEIR GARAGE. The night we stayed here, our car as well as at least 5 other cars parked near ours had their driver windows smashed by someone trying to get into the car. One guy had their passport and their cash stolen. They had no security cameras. They claimed no responsibility and told us to take it up with the parking garage manager. The parking garage manager told us to take it up with our insurance and claimed no responsibility. The hotel manager denied any liability and told us to take it up with the police. DO NOT STAY HERE. If you stay here, DO NOT PARK YOUR CAR HERE. If you park here, DO NOT LEAVE ANY VALUABLES IN THE CAR. Looking at the previous reviews, cars being broken into at their a garage is a consistent problem that has NOT been fixed. This is NOT an isolated experience. The hotel and/or garage clearly do NOT care about the safety of their customers.

Edit: Re: hotel Halifax

Yes, it’s perfectly common for hotels to have parking lots not managed by the hotel. That’s fine. What is NOT fine is the hotel recommending people to park there DESPITE having knowledge of prior guests getting their cars broken into and damaged. That’s deceitful, misleading, and negligent.

I didn't stay the night as I was just dropping someone off and getting them settled. One person was on the desk so there was a wait. She was efficient and respectful and we were checked in quickly when it was our turn. Seemed to be clean and the room was as expected by the person staying for the week. I would stay there if it isn't too much per night, I did ask the price.

I just wanted to write a big thank you to Hotel Manager Michael for his help last Friday. Thank you so much for being so kind and understanding with our situation. Michael was so accommodating and just greatly appreciate your help last Friday on our telephone call. Thank you so much and look forward to our upcoming stay in August 2022.

Worse hotel we had so far. Paid for a view on the bay, but the windows are so dirty it's not even enjoyable. Does feel like a 4-stars hotel.: (

It was ok. Lots of construction and a hockey tournament in the area made it pretty busy, but we didn't drive anywhere after we arrived. Great walking distance to the harbour and downtown Halifax.

Service was good but they looked overwhelmed and understaffed with everything going on.

Beds were comfy, but the bathroom has cracks in the sink and things just looked worn out.
The hotel looks like it's worn down and in need of a facelift. The cost per night is a bit high, so you're paying for the location.

This hotel has gone through a few name changes in the last few years, regardless the staff are always welcoming and friendly. That classic east coast hospitality. Great location everything is within walking distance, the beds are comfy, I always can catch up on some sleep here.

We stayed for a week. The assistant manager and overnight desk person were kind and tried hard to help. They were lovely. After 4 days we had to ask to have our room cleaned (garbage overflowing, out of TP). The first night we saw a mouse running around the restaurant and the fourth night our vehicle was broken into and badly damaged and security did nothing. The area is filled with homeless people begging for money and cigarettes. No longer a safe area.

Recently stayed at the Hotel Halifax and had a good stay. The rooms are a little dated but they are very clean. The staff is very professional, and the hotel is in a very convenient location downtown. I'll definitely stay here again.
08 May 2022 17:00
Slowest check in and check out even with only 1 to 2 people easily 30 mins. Was told there was room service at check in only to discover this was not the case. Parking had the exit closest to the hotel parking closed with no sinage until you got there. Receipt not working at the other exit had to wait another 30 mins to get a written one. So mnay better run and cleaner hotels to chose from in the area.

I am giving a 4 star because Colleen the Manager deserves it. We had quite a few mishaps but she was quick to solve them. She is great at her job and definitely deserves a raise.
As for the room I think there needs to be some updates as some of the plugs didn't work and the bathroom was so small. The ac leaked and destoryed our plug but we were reimbursed.
Make sure to call directly the hotel to book because the call center agent I spoke to had no sweet clue what she was doing.
