I rented a hybrid for two weeks and the bike was great. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A great experience

It's better to find other places to rent, or buy your own bike. Quality of 'hybrid' bike I'd used was absolutely poooor, transmission worked badly

Fantastic service. I contacted them several weeks out to arrange for a rental a week before their official opening and they didn’t hesitate to help me out. I was visiting on a cruise ship for the day and wanted to get a good long ride in and the road bike they lent me was perfect.

The bike had a little pannier on the back with a tire kit and lock and more than enough room for me to store my HUGE hoodie and ID. No issues at all with the gears or brakes and the bike was is great repair. I will definitely rent from them again if I find myself back in Halifax.

Bikes could be prepared a bit better. Of all three bikes we rented not a single bell worked. They were bent and rusted. Just shows they are not putting money back in as often as they should for something easily replaceable.

Superb business, great kit, great service, great location and great communication. Exploring and commuting by bike whilst in Halifax is the way to go and this is the company to hire from! Highly recommended

We felt service could be improved, charged full day even though we didn’t hire until nearly midday, were not offered a map (we got one after seeing others with them and going back to ask). Our request to charge our phone for 5 minutes on return was rejected due to liability issues.

Just returned from a two week bike tour of Nova Scotia on I️Bikes. I can’t speak highly enough of this well run business. Sara, the owner, was responsive and helpful every step of the way. The bikes were exceedingly well maintained and ran smoothly, had new tubes and tires and she gave us all the tools we might possibly need. I love that this is a female run business. Highly recommend.

This is an absolutely wonderful place to rent bikes.
I came to the East Coast to do a self-made solo cycling tour for a week, and got to experience two different e-bikes. Both were in great condition, well-maintained, and the assist system was explained well.
I had the misfortune of popping a tire with a piece of metal shrapnel. I called the shop and the girls were INCREDIBLY patient with me, walking me through getting the tire off, new tube fitted, and then getting it all back together again. I cannot stress enough how dumb I was, and how great they were with getting me through that. Spare tube, tire lever, multi-tool, and hand pump all provided in panniers, so I had everything I needed to get it done.
Every staff member was knowledgeable, helpful, patient, and passionate about bikes! I couldn't have asked for a better experience, and delighted to have been a client.

Was only in Halifax for a couple days and was able to take their ebike to Peggy's cove and back. Staff were great in setting it up, giving tips on ebike efficiency, recommending the (longer) scenic route, and overall did their best to ensure I'd make the trip safely. Great workout if you're into long trips or physical challenges (~100km loop). Would rent from them again the next time I'm in Halifax again.

Renting bikes from I Heart Bikes was by far the best way to explore the city. The ebikes are fantastic, they come with all the accessories, the staff were very helpful, and it was easy to organize.

Could not believe they would refuse to top up my nearly flat bike tire…citing “liability” concerns. OMG, common decency & public service? - Cycle tourist from Manitoba and not impressed.

Very well located, but remember this is a bike rental location and not a bikes sales or service.if you require any assistance it is not available here. They do not lend tools, rent tools, sell parts, do emergency repairs, or anything that is not related to their own equipment. If you require any assistance not related to rentals it is best to go someplace else.

This is a wonderful way to see Halifax and our family really enjoyed this as an excursion with our cruise ship vacation. As many have highlighted, the staff at I Heart Bikes is really kind and patient. They helped us shake the rust off of our bike riding skills and get going!

Keep in mind that you are not supposed to ride on the sidewalks in Halifax. The sidewalks are for the walkers!:)

It's an incredibly beautiful city with many outstanding local merchants. Our bikes had nice bags in the back for storing our purchases. Of course, they also provided an emergency tire repair kit in the bag as well. Great stuff.

Great experience! It was a busy and warm Saturday in May when we rented e-bikes. The staff were super helpful in getting us set up and on our way. We rode over 70 km's and the bikes worked great. Returning them was super easy too! Thanks for a great experience when we visited Halifax and the area!

I reserved a bike, 2 months in advance from the US, for a 10-day rental to do multiple day rides around the coast of Nova Scotia. It's day seven now and I returned the bike today since tomorrow, hurricane Dorian arrives. For personal safety and preventing damage to my rental car, I cancelled my remaining coastal motels and booked others further away. I prefer not to ride in the hurricane and have to spend more time driving to avoid becoming a liability for local emergency personnel. Upon returning the bike, I inquired about any credit for remaining time. Staff connected me by phone to the mgr who refused any consideration. They may be called "I heart bikes" but I found her attitude uncompassionate and "heart-less". She iterated it's a small business and cannot afford to refund. With this kind of customer service, it'll be lucky to stay in business, let alone grow. Obviously, a natural disaster (and probably death) is no grounds for refund. I believe in payment for services rendered, but the attitude exhibited here is, money made on behalf of a customer's misfortune, is money well earned. How lucky they were to have my multi-day rental fee cover for an otherwise day of emergency closure!

Pretty great selection of bikes and it's there's a great, fairly flat road that winds along the waterfront towards Point Pleasant Park so that's definitely a must-visit on a bicycle!
